The Shining Latios Chapter 7: Enter: Team Shadow

(Insert line here)

Bianca, Lorenzo, and Pikachu were all sitting around the dining room table, bored. Ash, Brock, and Latias had left nearly two hours beforehand, leaving the trio with nothing to do.

"Got seven?" Bianca sighed, her elbow propping up her head.

"Pika-pi." Pikachu said, shaking his head from his lying down position on the table.

"I have it." Lorenzo said gruffly. He seemed to be the only one whose eyelids weren't drooping. He handed the card to his granddaughter, who added it to her hand.

"Got three?" Lorenzo said. Before the other two could answer, however, the sound of the front door opening sounded, snapping the three out of their stupor.

"About damn time!" Bianca yawned, stretching backwards, her hands clasped together, "We were starting to think that you guys we-" She stopped talking when she noticed the serious faces the trio was wearing.

Lorenzo shifted in his seat to a more comfortable position. "Why the grim faces?" The bearded man asked, "Did something go wrong?"

"You could say that." Ash sighed, "Boy, do we have a lot of stuff to tell you."

He turned to Latias. "Latias," He said, "Do you want to explain, or me?"

'I don't really mind either way.' The dragoness telepathed.

"Why don't I count?" Brock asked. Nobody answered him.

"Okay, me then." Ash grumbled. He had enough knowledge of the female race to know that when they said that they didn't mind, it was really just a nice way of saying "You're going to do it." Pulling up a chair for himself, Latias, and Brock, he then launched into an explanation of everything that had happened since they had left, not leaving anything out. As he talked, the expressions of those sitting, minus Latias and Brock, turned to puzzlement, then shock, followed by horror, before finally settling on grim expressions matching the one being worn by Brock, Ash, and Latias.

Once he had finished, the atmosphere in the room was so thick Ash figured that Pikachu could cut it with an Iron Tail. The boy turned Pokemon had been feeling strange ever since the incident in the alley. His mind felt sharper somehow, more mature. He had no idea why or how, but now he could see, based on his friends' facial expressions, that the story had troubled them deeply.

Lorenzo was the first to break the silence. He looked at Latias, who was fidgeting in her seat. "Latias," he said, his voice gentle and sad, yet with a hint of anger, "I'm very sorry for what happened to you. If I was a little younger, I would go after those damn hooligans, but I'm afraid that my body is too old and withered now. All I would accomplish is my own death."

Latias looked up at the man who had been her surrogate grandfather for years. She saw the pain in his eyes, and almost started bawling. The incident had shaken her up more than she was letting on, seeing as it was the first time someone had wanted her like...that, but she didn't want to worry everyone. The only one who probably knew just how badly it had affected her was Bianca, who, while not a telepath, had known her for her entire life. The look that Lorenzo was giving her was beginning to bring her roiling emotions to the surface.

'It's fine, grandpa.' The dragoness said, 'It didn't bother me too much. If I had really wanted to, I could have changed back and scared them away, so it's not like anything was going to happen. Anyways, isn't one of your mottos "Revenge accomplishes nothing except making the pain worse"?'

Lorenzo studied his surrogate granddaughter's face for a few seconds, before sighing. "I am glad to hear that." The gandola builder said.

"So anyways," Bianca said, clearing her throat. The conversation was starting to make everyone uncomfortable, so she decided to change the subject. "What about this Ryan guy? Did he just appear out of nowhere or something? Didn't you guys sense him coming?"

Latias thought about that for a second. 'You have a good point.' The Legendary Psychic telepathed, 'He was close enough so that either Ash or I should have been able to sense him, even if we were distracted at the time.'

"Then why?" Bianca pressed, "Why couldn't you sense him?"

To everyone's surprise, it was Ash who answered. "The guy said that he was a magic, aura, and psychic user." Ash said slowly. Everyone's eyes turned to him. "Maybe he had some cloaking ability, or maybe he's hiding something from us. Or maybe it was both."

Everyone stared at him. "What?" Ash said, looking slightly alarmed, "Do I have something on my face?"

Pikachu shook his head. "No, it's just that that was probably the most intelligent thing I've ever heard you say, and I've known you for a long time."

"W-Well...thanks?" Ash said, not knowing what to say.

Lorenzo cleared his throat. "Well, enough talk about this incident." He said, standing up, "I believe I speak for all of us when I say that we have gone too long without food. Let's go out to lunch, to get our minds off of this incident."

At that moment, Ash's stomach growled loudly. "Mr. Tummy agrees with this emotion!" The raven haired boy exclaimed, "Let's eat!" He then proceeded to walk out the door.

Everyone waited. Exactly three point seven seconds later, Ash stuck his head through the door. "Ummm...How do you get there?" Ash said, rubbing the back of his head Mareepishly.

Everyone sweatdropped. 'Aaaaand he's back to normal.' Everyone thought.

Almost everyone, that is.

Latias had noticed something off in Ash's eyes. She realized that he was acting happy(Currently, he was tripping over air), but in reality he was being tortured by what had happened. She sped up her walkign pace and matched Ash's speed. She gently touched her hand to the back of Ash's, leading to a surprised look from the boy Trainer. Blushing slightly, the dragoness sped up her walkign pace, walking ahead of the group.

She could feel Ash's eyes on the back of her head, but little did she know that he was smiling.

As the group was walking to lunch, there was another person who was walking through the city of Altomare. This boy was about Ash's height, wearing very odd clothes and a white mask with strange golden designs. The boy wasn't paying very much attention to where he was walking, but this was understandable, seeing as he had a lot on his mind.

'He's progressing faster than I thought.' Ryan thought, 'At this rate, he might just be able to finish what I started, all those years ago. Maybe, just maybe, he could be the one I've beem searching for ...'

Ryan was so preoccupied that he didn't realize that he had walked straight down an alley. Muttering to himself, he turned again and promptly ran right into someone.

"Oh, my apologies." He said, looking up, "I wasn't watching wh-" Behind the mask, he quickly shut his mouth, his eyes widening. He backflipped away from the person that he had run into, to put some distance between them.

"You!" Ryan said, narrowing his eyes. In front of him were two people. One was a small, petite-looking girl who looked no older than 17, with bright red hair that she was wearing in two large ponytails to either side of he head, She was also wearing a white baseball cap with no emblem on it. The other, which was the one who he had run into, was a giant of a man. He was at least 7 feet tall, and broad as a small car. His arms were the size of small oak trees, as were his legs.

However, that wasn't what was worrying him. Both of them were wearing black uniforms emblazoned in the center of the torso with the letter S, colored dark purple with the ends curling back into each other, with a dark red line slashing diagonally through the center.

"Awww, so you do remember us, Ry-Ry!" The girl said, grinning in a childish way. The man just looked apathetic.

Gathering his wits, Ryan countered. "Of course I remember you, Aryllia. Who could forget your ugly mug?"

Instantly, the girl, now known as Aryllia, growled and reached for her waist, but the man held out an arm.

"Aryllia, we have done what we came here for." The man said in a deep, gravelly voice, "Getting into a fight with Ryan of all people would be foolish.

Aryllia turned to the man with a pout. "But Dormin," She whined childishly, "This could be my only chance to fight the legendary Lord of Shadow! I wanna fight him!"

Neither of them noticed the slight flinch that Ryan gave at the mention of his title. However, this could be because he had turned himself invisible while the two were arguing.

Eventually, the two stopped arguing long enough to notice that Ryan had disappeared. "Aww, now look what you did, Dormin!" Aryllia whined, "He got away!"

Dormin sighed but didn't say anything. Seemingly, this was a normal occurence.

"No matter." The girl said, a malicious grin spreading across her face, "We got what we came for anyway." She took out a vial filled with a strange green substance from inside of her shirt, dangling it in front of her face and watching the contents move around slightly.

"With the Aura of the Dew, we, Team Shadow, will finally be one step closer to being able to resurrect the Darkness Omega, and become the supreme rulers of this world!" She said, grinning.

A/N: Okay. that's a wrap. Now, for those reasons. Well, my computer broke numerous times, I had family over, and then school started. I'm a junior in high school this year, and it's pretty hard. But the main reason was no less than laziness. Well, that's about it. Until next time, triforcelord, out!
