I woke up in St Mungos confused and a mediwitch ran over to me "just you lay back and relax, you've had a time of it" she said and I frowned confused "what happened?" I asked "you were hit by a curse that sliced your stomach but we've fixed you up, I've got some bad news for you though" she said and I frowned confused "what's wrong?! Is Harry ok?" I asked panicked and the nurse frowned "did you know you were pregnant?" She asked and my eyes widened "what pregnant?" I asked and she asked "yes you were pregnant but you've suffered a miscarriage after the incident" she said and I sat there in shock feeling the tears well up "I need George" I said not knowing what else to say or do. "He's outside, I'll go get him" she said.
I laid back and closed my eyes not believing I had been pregnant but then again neither George or I was very safe when it came to preforming a contraception spell. The door opened and George rushed in and over to me, "Sam ohh god your ok. You scared the shit out of me" he said panicked placing his hands on my cheeks, I let the tears fall from there I couldn't hold it in. "Sam love what's wrong?" He asked "didn't the nurse tell you?" I asked quietly "tell me what? All I got told from my dad was to come straight here" he said and I took his hand and took a deep breath and began to explain to him everything that happened at the Department of Mysteries "I was pregnant George but I lost it" I said and his face paled.
He dropped my hand "you were pregnant?" He said and I nodded "I didn't know till the nurse told me just now, I had a miscarriage" I said quietly. He stepped back from the bed and ran his hands through his hair "George talk to me please" I said reaching out for him "you put yourself in danger by going there Sam, if you didn't go we would still have the baby" he said and I nodded "I know George I'm so sorry but I didn't know" I said and he began pacing. The door burst open and Molly and Arthur came in "the nurse just told us what happened, ohh dear are you ok?" Molly asked coming over to me but I was looking George "Sam" Molly said when I didn't answer "I'm fine just shocked, I didn't know" she said and Molly nodded "the pair of you have been irresponsible but you should never have to go through this" Molly said.
"It wouldn't have happened if she stayed at school and didn't pretend to be a hero" George said "George!" Molly scolded "Arthur take him and see when Sams getting out" she added and Arthur nodded "you gave us a scare kiddo but we're glad your ok" he said and I nodded "I know" I said and the two of them left and Molly sighed "don't mind what he says Sam he's just upset" she said and I nodded "I know Molly but honestly I didn't know" I said. Molly sighed "I know you didn't Sam, you wouldn't have put yourself in danger if you did but you both are so young it wouldn't have been easy" she said and I nodded "how did you take the twins leaving hogwarts?" I asked quietly and Molly sat down "as you'd expect I'm just glad you didn't leave too" she said and I nodded "I couldn't" I said and Molly nodded "I see he gave you the ring" she said and my eyes widened "you knew about the ring?" I asked and Molly nodded "it was my mothers ring" she said and I smiled "ohh Molly I can't take it" I said and she shook her head "nonsense you are part of this family, you deserve it" she said and I sighed "we'll see if George still wants me to have it" I said "he will, don't worry. He just gets hotheaded" she said.
The door opened and Arthur and George came in "she's getting out now, Fred brought over some clothes for her" Arthur said setting a bag on the bed and Molly helped me up "you two leave I'll help her change" she said and they left the room and Molly helped me change since I was still a bit tender. "Thanks Molly you shouldn't have to do that" I said and Molly shook her head "I would do it for any of my children" she said and I felt tears filling my eyes and nodded "thank you" I said giving her a hug and she rubbed my back "now cmon lets get you home" she said and we left the room and George took my hand as we went to the floos.
We landed in the burrow and Molly made me take it easy and sit on the sofa while she ran after me "Molly seriously I'm fine relax" I said "sit down and have a cup of tea" I added and she sighed and nodded and joined me. "I'm sorry George had to leave, Fred and he are setting up this joke shop and the flat above it. Their planning on moving in soon" she said and I nodded "they'll make something of it Molly, I know you don't support it but they are very good at it" I said and she sighed and nodded. "What do you want for supper tonight, I'll make your favourite" she said and I laughed "anything's fine with me" I said and Molly nodded and we sat talking for a while longer before she was back to it in the kitchen.
Fred and George didn't come home for supper that night and they still weren't home when Molly and Arthur were heading to bed "cmon Sam lets get you to bed" Molly said and I shook my head "no I'll wait up for them you guys head up" I said "are you sure?" She asked and I nodded "yeah on you go" I said and she nodded and they headed to bed and I took out a book to read while I waited on the twins to come home. I must have dozed off because I was awoken by a bang and I jumped up with my wand ready to see George had fallen in the door and Fred was laughing "mind the step" he said and I sighed knowing they were drunk. "Where have you guys been? Your mums been worried" I said going over leaning down to help George even though I was in pain "well if it isn't my fiancée the reckless wonder" George slurred standing up.
"George cmon lets get you to bed" I said trying to ignore him and went to take his hand but he slapped it away "Fred help me" I said and Fred shook his head "your fiancé your problem" he said. "Fred stop being a dick and help me" I said "it's not Fred that's being a dick Sam it's you" George said and frowned "how by trying to get you to bed because your drunk" I said "no because you lost my baby" he said and I frowned "it's not like I did that on purpose George it was an accident, I didn't even know I was pregnant" I said.
"That's what you say but how am I supposed to know, you do have a past history of lying" he spat and I stood there in shock "George I would never lie to you about that, I'm as cut up about this as you are" I said "you don't seem it" he said "what do you mean by that?" I asked "you haven't cried you don't show much emotion Sam! Your like your mother" he said and I slapped his face "don't ever mention me being like her again!" I snapped "I have cried, you would have known if you had been here!" I added walking away.
"I think we should take a break" he said and I stopped "what?" I asked my face paling "you heard me I think we should take a break" he said and Fred looked between us shocked "George..." He started but George shook his head "I've made my mind up, I can't be with her just now" he said "fine then you won't need to deal with me anymore" I snapped storming up to ginny's room and broke down once I closed the door.
