Hello. Chapter 72! So far now. Remember when it was Chapter 1? Seems so long ago... Ages away. Anyways, thanks for understanding last chapter. I'm really sorry still. I own nothing and enjoy the chapter!
PS: again, late nights. I write only at night, so I'm so so tired. I really want to update, but I have another gig tomorrow, and I can't afford to be blurry eyed with sleep. Right now I can hardly see straight, so I can't write any more tonight. I'm really sorry. Hate if you will, cause it's the second update in a row. It's not gonna fix anything though, so you should just keep your mouth shut it it's not nice. Thanks. I'm so so so so so so so so so sorry.
Piper's POV
RECAP
Cautiously, I looked towards the fireplace. A chair was stationed right in front of it. upon closer inspection, I saw an old centaur.
Chiron was still crying, unlike Daisy, tears making tracks down his face. His tears were silent ones now, polar opposites to the sobs I heard earlier.
"Please sit Piper. I have some explaining to do."
Cautiously, I sat on the couch next to the two girls. My brow was still furrowed in thought. What could Chiron possibly need to explain? Does this have to do with Percy?
Chiron stood and turned the chair he was sitting in around so he could see us. Now, the fire was at his back, and it gave off an eery look. Chiron almost seemed like a demon, illuminated by the fires of Hell.
For a moment, Chiron stared at each one of us. Then, he took a deep breath and let out a sigh.
"I knew. This is all my fault because I knew."
I spoke up. "What'd uou know Chiron? It can't be your fault."
"It is. This could've been avoided if I hadn't been so scared."
"What're you talking about?" Autumn asked. I nodded my head, to show that I wanted to know too.
Again, Chiron sighed. "Lets start from the top. I am part horse, as you should know. When Percy came to camp, he had a monster living inside of him. I could smell it in his blood, and I was afraid."
We were all confused.
"What kind of monster can live inside someone? And what was inside Percy?" Autumn questioned.
"How did this affect him? Did it change anything he did? If the monster wasn't there, would be have acted differently?"
"For the most part, Percy wouldve acted the same. There were some times when the monster tried to break free of its restraints and just wreak havoc, but that didn't happen. Ever wonder why percy would randomly run to the lake from anywhere he was at camp, and dive in? His monster tried to break free, and didn't want to scare anyone when he forced it back into it's prison.
"And Autumn, I don't believe you girls understand. Perhaps he never told you. When he was young, Percy worked for some bad people. They hated him, and tested all their new experiments on Percy first. That's how he got Wrath and the other alter egos as well. Then one day, there was a test designed to make people stronger. Percy was the first test subject. It did make him stronger, but in a way like Marvel's Hulk. He grew in size and muscle, but as his brawn grew, his brain shrunk. He was a mindless creature, so Percy kept the monster out of reach if everyone except himself. He'd get mentally beat up in attempts of peace, but no one noticed." Chiron paused. "If I had offered to help him, help control it, keep his temper down all the time, maybe they'd still be alive."
"Chiron," I said, "I still haven't heard what happened. Who was killed? How?"
