Hi. I'm glad no one got mad at me. (Glares around the room) Okay. Sorry I've been a bit... Withdrawn lately. Or upset. Or snappy or whatever. But whatever. Poll is still up (it's always been up). I own nothing and enjoy the chapter.
Piper's POV
RECAP
Chiron paused, voice full of emotion (mainly guilt). "If I had offered to help him, help control it, keep his temper down all the time, maybe they'd still be alive."
"Chiron," I said, "I still haven't heard what happened. Who was killed? How?"
The centaur sighed. "In case you haven't put the pieces together by now, the Monster helped kill them. They interrupted something that was considered important in Percy's head, and he escaped. Percy couldn't stop him because his mind was clouded with magic. A magic spell had been placed on him through his sister, but that's a different story. The monster escaped, and he was in a full blown attack. During the attack, the monster heavily injured Thalia Grace, and she was with two others when the monster turned to them. They were all injured though, and only one could be saved. So one of the two pushed Thalia away. Just as the monster threw a large rock at the two, crushing them. And killing them immediately."
Chiron's voice broke at the end, and he looked close to tears. It could've just been the smoke from the fire though. But as Aphrodite's daughter, I know emotions when I see them. And this was definitely a deep deep sorrow.
Chiron's sadness just confirmed the idea I had in my head, the idea I had gotten from Daisy. But, they couldn't have-
Percy wouldn't- He couldn't-
Deciding that I didn't want to say it, or hear it either, I asked, "Chiron, you never answered my question. Who died?"
The trainer of heroes took a deep breath, and looked a hundred years older. "A-Annabeth Chase and Nico diAngelo. Daughter of Athena and Son of Hades. Savior's of Olympus. And much much more."
Percy's POV
RECAP (from chapter 69)
Eventually, after my fists were bloody and my feet close to broken from repeated contact with the floor, I became still and just lay in the floor. The others still attempted to move me, in case the hand appeared, but I wouldn't budge.
After they gave up, silence enveloped us. No one wanted to voice the thoughts that were on all our minds. So I did it first.
"He's dead."
"You can't be sure..."
"He's dead. We share a link. I can feel it dying, even as we speak. He's good as dead."
As I spoke, I didnt move from the floor. Right now, it's my protection from the world. From the truth. If I wasn't here, I'd be huddled in the corner, to clogged with emotion to speak. So here I am now, expressionless and toneless, spread out in the middle of the room.
The others were too emotionally tired that they didn't bither aruguing with me. I cojkd hear two of them whispering though. "If he keeps up with this, he'll be joining Peter."
Maybe I will. Annabeth and Nico are there anyways.
NOW
I didn't move from the ground until all my brothers had left. First was Alexander, about an hour after Peter was taken. Although he loves us all deadly, he couldn't bare the emotion in the room. So he left, followed by Jake. At least three hours after the incident, Somos left too. I could see it in his eyes that he didn't want to leave me alone, but he could also tell that I desperately wanted time to myself. And I'm not getting up anytime soon. So after three hours, I was alone.
It was bliss for all of two seconds.
After two seconds, I stood up and looked into the closest cupboard. In the drawer at the bottom was a steel knife.
Wrath's POV (last was chapter 69)
My subconscious body tumbled through the mind. I fell from the sky, waiting to land. This was my punishment for putting someone in charge out of the blue.
But this wasn't pain. After what I've been through, I could deal with this.
As as soon as I was able to see the ground, I knew I was going to crash onto my side.
How did I know?
Think of it as a circle. There's several pieces, and each sliver is a different color. In our mind, the ground is a different color depending on whose area it is. If it's mine, it's black. Somos is a light blue, Alexander red, Percy sea green (like most of their eyes), and Peter a faint purple. Perseus was maroon, but now the area that used to be his is white to show that he no longer exists within us.
The black land spread out below me, in the middle a cone-shaped building. That's my central building, where I live and do whatever. It's my castle and I'm the king. I can either have someone get me stuff, or I can conjure it myself. I have about anything I could want though, all of it in limitless supply.
After another few minutes of falling, I crashed through the roof of the cone-shaped building. Thankfully, I had judged the landing correctly and hit a soft spot near the rim, not directly on the pointy tip.
When I entered the building, I found myself in the room I had originally tied Percy up in. There was one person there, with the black hair all of us have. His green eyes were clouded with self-pity, guilt, and hatred. I had a nasty feeling that the hatred wasn't towards me. The next thing I noticed was the steel knife in his hands. It was held in an awkward angle, the blade pointed at him and not me.
Hands de up in front of me, I said, "Put it down."
Close to hysterics, he choked out, "Why should I?"
The blade was now pressed against his throat.
