Hi! I'm glad everyone liked the last chapter! I saw SIX new reviews, which was like 😯! Surprised face. That's amazing. Anyways, I own nothing (always will) and enjoy the chapter!
Wrath's POV (I'm really excited for this! Annabeth/Nico and Daisy next chapter!)
Hands up in front of me, I said, "Put it down."
Close to hysterics, he choked out, "Why should I?"
The blade was now pressed against his throat.
I took a step forwards. "This isn't you. You wouldn't do this."
"How would you know? How would anyone know?! I go from one mistake to another, losing friend after friend after friend. My life is a mistake, and so is yours! How do you know this isn't what I'd do?"
"Because. I know you. I've known you for a long time. I've admired you, then it turned to jealousy. That's why I do all this. I'm jealous for the life you have, and j will never have. You always seem so perfect. Now tell me, do I admire the broken man about to commit suicude, or the man that's a hero and can always hold his own?"
To my frustration, the knife stayed in place. But the hand holding it wobbled ever so slightly.
"I-I don't know anymore," Percy cried. "They say the person you are is what makes you up. But if I'm made up of other people, than what am i? Who am I? Am I Peter, or am I Alex? They aren't the same or extremely similar. Am I Somos, or am I Perseus? They're practically polar opposites. Am I Jake or am I you? The only thing you two have in common is a loving of the color black or darkness. Who am I?"
For a second, I stared. Is this really the hero I looked up to and envied? Is this the hero that went through everything? Yes, he's just tired and fed up. He's a bit broken.
I took another step forward, and Percy stepped back. He was almost against the wall. "Your name is Percy Jackson. You're the only son of Sally Jackson and Poseidon. You're the hero of Olympus, and protector of demigods all over America. You've survived the Minotaur without even a day if training, Medusa and her sisters, Echidna and her Chimera, Cyclopes, the Sea of Monsters, undead warriors, Atlas, an angry son of Hades, Ladon, the Labyrinth, Geryon, Kronos's army, Kronos himself, Prometheus, the Olympian council, Gaea, Camp Jupiter and angry Romans, and even Tartarus. If you can do that, then you can survive anything."
Tears swam in Percy's eyes, but they didn't dare spill. Not quite yet, at least.
"Does that matter though? I lost more people than the ones I saved. Bianca, Zoë, Silena, Beckendorf, Luke, all the kids I led to war in the last two wars. Now, I killed Annabeth and Nico, and Peter's gone. I-I can't take it anymore. It's too much to live you to. I can't do this anymore."
"What about your parents? They're still here. Sally and Paul, they love you."
Percy hiccuped. "Yeah, I love them so much too, but the Organization... They're threatening me. I'm-I'm-I'm... I can't say it. But unless j do something terrible, they said they'll kill Mom and Paul. But if I'm dead, they can't control me any more. I won't be controlled by anyone. I'd be free..."
I took the final steps closer to Percy. With each step forward I took, he took one backwards. After a few steps, his back bumper against the wall. His eyes went wide as he realized there was no where to run, and I was right in front of him.
Before you perverts out there start thinking, stop. This isn't what you perverts think.
Within seconds we were mere inches from each other. I leaned down until I was up in his face.
"Don't you ever do anything like that again. Do you realize how many people feel the way you feel? Do you realize that not everyone is an attention hogging jerk like you are? Do you realize that you have several brothers that are waiting down the hall for you to come out so they can comfort you? Do you realize that you aren't alone?" I whispered menacingly.
I took a giant step back and waited for a reaction.
"I know, but I can't take this anymore. I feel so alone," Percy whinpered.
The sound of flesh hitting flesh rang out in the stillness of the room.
"OI! What'd you do that for?!" Percy yelped as his hand flew to the red mark appearing on his cheek.
"Don't you ever say that. You aren't alone. You will never be alone. And if you think you're gonna commit suicide, you've got another thing coming. Do you understand?" I growled, my hand as red as his face.
What happened next, I dont think anyone would have expected. I sure didn't, watching it with my own eyes.
The tears swimming in the clouded green eyes sprang free and leapt down tanned cheeks. The once strong hero of Olympus fell to the ground in a sobbing mess of flesh, the knife falling from his weakened grip and skidding across the floor. I pounced and snatched it up, realizing that if Percy recovered from this sobbing fit we could very well find ourselves back to square one.
With the steel knife now pressed in my hand, I looked at Percy. I used to admire him, scratch that. I still do. He always had the best life, all the friends, everyone liked him, he even got the girl of his dreams. That's why I wouldn't play along like the others. I don't want a girl to call me Percy when she kisses me, I want her to say my name. My name and no one else's. I know it's selfish, but it's my life's dream.
Percy looked up at me after a few minutes. His eyes were dimmed with red, and tears had made stains down his face, making it look like two large snails had left slime trails on it. "Did-did you really mean it when you said you looked up to me?"
Of al the things i said, that's the one he picks ip? I nodded anyways. A small smile broke out on Percy's lips.
"Did you know that I always admired you too? Strong, brave, not afraid to go your own way." Percy paused. "Of course, that was before you tried to kill me."
I smirked. "Sorry. Jealousy provides some strange answers to the questions."
Percy laughed, and I let out a chuckle. After another minute of silence, I stretched out my hand to my... Brother... On the floor. "Wanna hand? Let's go see the others."
Percy took it and I helped him up. "Let's go."
I smiled and said something that any sane person would've classified as crazy, it coming from me. "I'm with you... Brother."
Percy looked at me in shocked happiness, then we walked together out the door, the cursed steel blade lying back on the floor.
