Bella stirred as she started to regain consciousness. It has been two hours since she had been abducted by the red headed figure.
Throbbing pain resonated from the back of her head, along with a wet sensation. It seemed the blow to the back of her head did more than just bruise she thought. The salty, metal aroma hung in the air making her a little nauseated.
Opening her eyes she was greeted by her long time 'friend', Victoria. She stood watching her with a menacing smile and an evil glint in her crimson eyes.
"Hello Isabella...long time no see," she purred.
Moving her body to a sitting position she found her arms bound behind her back and her legs tied together tightly. The roughness of the rope burned her skin, letting a few drops of blood colour the brown rope and dull cement floor.
Looking around she noticed they were in a small dimly lit room. A single light bulb hung from the ceiling and the walls were stained with what she presumed to be blood amongst other things. The humid air around them made the smell strong and awful. Bella had to shut her eyes and concentrate to prevent herself from vomiting.
Bella sneered, "Hello icky Vicky!"
Victoria quickly made her move appearing right in front of Bella and kicked her in the stomach. Bella bit her lip to keep her shrill scream at bay. Her vision became blurry from the tears threatening to fall.
Victoria crouched down to her level and pulled Bella's phone from her pocket and looked through her contacts. "Hmn...let's see here…," she said, scrolling through her contacts until she found the name of the vampire who partook in killing her James. "Ah here it is, 'Edward'."
Covering the speaker she spoke, "You don't have much contacts on your phone, do you? I suppose its expected if you have no one left."
Edward? How could his name and number be there. Bella didn't recall putting his number on the phone in the first place. Besides she didn't know his number at all. If it's not Edward then who's she thought.
Three rings was all it took until someone picked up and Victoria put it on loud speaker so Bella could hear.
"Hello Edward...," she purred, approaching Bella like a predator.
Silence.
"What no answer...? I'm hurt," she said sounding faintly hurt, placing her hands upon her non beating heart. She huffed, "Very well, I was just calling to inform you I have something very dear to you."
Silence.
"What...don't you believe me?" She stamped on one of Bella's legs, breaking it in the process.
She bit her tongue to prevent the scream threatening to escape her throat. Disappointed with her reaction Victoria kicked her in the stomach sending her crashing into the nearest wall. Bella vowed on her loved ones graves that she would be strong for them. She would not back down and wouldn't give Victoria the satisfaction she was seeking. She wouldn't be the same Bella who was too naive to see how controlling her so called boyfriend and pixie best friend were. The same Bella who believed his lies of a happily ever after.
"Now you are just ruining the fun. Scream for me Bella, let your precious Edward hear your cries, your plea, your sorrow."
"Broken leg...Hear your cries...' really Vicky? Geez I wonder where I heard that before? Oh yeah I remember ...from her very dead mate, talk about originality," Bella thought along with a mental eye roll.
There was still no answer from the other side and Bella sat up slowly, wincing from the broken bones and bruises forming on her body. She leaned back on the wall, spitting out the blood that pooled in her mouth and let out a highly amused laugh.
Victoria gave her a vicious glare, "What are you laughing at you worthless human?" She spat.
Shaking her head she gave her a sweet smile. "Oh Vicky...I'm surprised it took you this long to make your move to find me and here I thought you would come back for me weeks after the burial."
During the one sided conversation she had two presumption to who could be on the other line, either Ciel or Sebastian. How did she come up with that conclusion? Easy, it was a brand new phone and there are only two numbers saved; Ciel and Sebastian.
"Shut up you stupid human!" She growled, not liking the happy Bella in front of her.
"You see Vicky, since you and your mate just love games I thought 'if you can't beat them, join them,' so I decided to play a game with you..."
Victoria frowned. "Game?"
"Oh whoops," She giggled," I guess I forgot to tell you, you know how us humans are...always forgetful. Well, it's a game of hide and seek well more of a waiting game for me, see how long it will take you to find me." She look around and back at the redhead. "And here we are a year after my parent's death and now you make your move. I must say you really took your time, I was beginning to think you forgot about me," she pouted.
She growled and flashed in front of Bella in the blink of an eye, grabbing her by the throat with one hand and hoisting her up until her feet dangled in the air. Her eye patch fell off along the way.
Bringing her close, only inches away from Bella's face she snarled, "I let you off for a year so you could regain some form of happiness so I could have the pleasure of ripping your heart out all over again." Venom trailed down her chin as her eyes changes from red to a black as dark as night.
"Although it took me by surprise to see you get adopted by a family friend of yours and here I thought you would be forever alone, but never the less I am glad they took you in...," she smiled showcasing her razor sharp teeth.
Bella asked in a strangled tone, "And why is that?"
"Because my dear Isabella, I will get the pleasure of killing them right in front your eyes. I will make sure they scream and beg for their lives, that they look at you with such loathing in their eyes they will blame you for what is happening to them. I will make them see hell before ending their pathetic lives. Isn't it great you get to watch the show this time?!" She dropped her to the ground and paced in thought. "Although I must admit the first one was exhilarating...the screams...pleads...pathetic threats...too bad you missed it….," she trailed off looking into the distance wistfully. "It won't be long now little Bella, I sent some newborns to retrieve them and before you know it they will be here with you."
Victoria continued to pace the length of the room. "But who shall go first? The sexy boy with dark navy hair or the handsome butler...so sad to see both of their faces ruined or scratched , such fine-looking men ... decisions ...decisions..."
Bella sat up and leaned back to the wall wincing in pain. She looked calm and collected on the outside, but inside she was seething and in pain.
She felt a slight tingling sensation on the eye where her proof of contract resides. Opening her eye, the contract was glowing like a pool of mercury, even with how dimly lit the room was shone like a beacon in the darkness.
Looking back at Bella Victoria saw the glowing mark, but brushed it off. Her mind was telling her it was just contact lenses, while her instincts were telling her to run and hide, but because of her deep obsession with revenge it overrided the warning.
Deciding to test out the contract, Bella spoke in a normal tone, knowing with their demonic hearing they will be able to hear her just fine, "I am here."
Forgetting the phone was still on loud speaker a young male voice with an English accent spoke from the other line, "...Understood, my lady. "
Then the line went dead.
Victoria crushed the phone in her grasp and threw Bella across the room, hitting yet another wall.
Bella slumped down and let out a weak giggle.
"What did you do?!" Victoria seethed between her clenched teeth.
Bella shrugged, not answering.
Not a second later, the light flickered and turned off, swallowing everything in darkness.
Victoria looked around in panic and confusion. "What the..?"
The door unlocked itself and creaked open. Light footsteps from two individuals could be heard making their way in. The light flickered back to life, showing two men dressed in suits standing in front of the opened door.
"My, my Miss Swan, you really have a talent for getting into trouble don't you?" asked Ciel, amusement dancing in his pale sapphire eye.
Sebastian was behind him showing a small smile. Bella gave them an innocent smile. "What can I say? I'm a danger magnet."
"Indeed you are Miss Swan," said Sebastian.
Ignoring the playful banter between Bella and the butler, Victoria stretched her senses to find out what happen to the newborn guards position around the house. Seconds have passed and she sensed no living vampires nearby, instead she picked up the faint stench of sickly sweet burning vampires.
What the hell happened?! What happen to the guards? Where are the retrieval team ? How did these two mere humans pass vampires? Did they get rid of them?
Unanswered questions flew through her mind one after the another, panic started to colour her emotions. She flashed to Bella's side, dragging her to a stand by her throat and positioning her to act as a shield.
Then Bella spoke, "As long as we have a contract proof whenever I call you, no matter where you are, you will find me," quoting a small section of the contract. "The contractors proof is a mark demons put on their prey so that they will be able to find them wherever they are..."
"...making it impossible to escape from the demon," finished Ciel. "I will follow you, no matter where you go until the end. Even if this body is destroyed I will not leave your side. I shall follow you into the depths of hell."
Ciel flashed right beside Victoria and unbound Bella with a flick of his wrist. "As you can see Miss Swan, I do not lie, unlike humans and certain vampires."
"Make sure you don't."
"Yes, my lady."
Victoria looked at the young demon who stood right beside her in a flash with wide eyes. Seeing as both of the men are not humans she thought if she is getting killed in the end, she might as well kill Bella first. Gripping Bella's throat to suffocate and break her neck, she found nothing but air. Looking around for the human she found her being supported by Ciel.
"No!" Victoria shouted, going for the kill.
" Sebastian..." Bella ordered.
"Yes, my lady," he answered.
Victoria never got a chance to touch a single strand of her hair before her head was ripped from her body. Her eyes were wide and frantic trying to find out what just happened. Looking at Bella's companions their burgundy and crystal blue eyes were gone and instead were glowing pools of crimson with black slits. They frightened her.
What are they? She asked herself. One thing was for sure, they were not vampires because of their heart beats and their scents have an underlying fragrance of something she couldn't put a finger on.
Bella looked at Victoria with a steel gaze. "Bring her head. Burn the rest, that's an order," she ordered, then passed out in pain and exhaustion.
"Yes, my lady."
-Dream -
Looking around she recognised her room. There is a small lit candle on the nightstand, the soft flickering flame from the candle shone, illuminating the dark room. There on the bed was herself, covered in bandages, a cast and unconscious. Even with the little light she could see the dark bruises on her arms, throat and head which were not covered with bandages.
She saw Ciel on the far corner of the room sitting with his legs crossed, elbows propped up into the armrest and fingers laced together.
Minutes, maybe hours had passed when Ciel stood up and walked slowly yet elegantly to her side. He then looked at her unconscious form with emotions she had never seen on his face before.
He looked ...concerned.
"Isabella…," he said, in barely a whisper. Her name rolled from his tongue like honey.
During her time with them she had never heard him say her name, it is always Miss Swan or my lady, nothing more nothing less. Hearing him say her name in such caring and gentle manner made her believe it was all just a dream. Never would he say her name in real life. Besides she was just a simple plain Jane, a broken human. Nothing else. And her broken 'pure' soul would be for him to devour once the contract has been fulfilled.
He looked at Bella intently for a few more minutes, like he was having an internal battle before he bent down, cupped her face gently, closed his eyes and placed a soft warm kiss on her lips.
Yep. I'm definitely dreaming, never would he look at me with so much care and concern let alone kiss me.
