Sorry for the wait.
Overnight snow has fallen over the city of New York, covering every rooftop, road and park like a thick white blanket, making the city a winter wonderland. Crystallized icicles dangled from rooftop edges shining brightly like diamonds under the sun's rays.
As always Sebastian woke up early, before sunrise, to prepare things for the day. After getting everything done including preparing breakfast for the lord and lady of the house, he placed in on the dinner trolley and pushed it out the kitchen. He has done this ever since Miss Swan came home from the little confrontation between her and Victoria. Normally he would place their food on separate silver trays and bring them to where they are, but seeing as his master hardly left Miss Swans side it was better to put the food all together. Despite Miss Swan's unconscious state he always makes food for her just in case she wakes up. Hers consist mostly of soft foods and soups due to the fact that it may be difficult for her to swallow at the moment because of her swollen neck due to Victoria's death grip.
Walking along the corridor he wondered when his young master will realise what Isabella is to him. He shook his head and smiled.
It's all a matter of time before Ciel finally realized what Bella truly is to him.
Stopping in front of a double white doors he knocked gently.
"Enter," Ciel's whisper came from the other side.
He opened the door and greeted with the sight of Ciel pulling his hand away from Miss Swan's. He figured his master has held her hand since he came back from the library. Sebastian knew with the current state Miss Swan is in his master's instincts is shouting for him to be near her, to comfort her and tend to her every need.
"Good morning, young master," He bowed and proceed to open both curtains. "It's nice weather today."
"Good morning." He looked outside to see snow covered buildings. "Oh.. It snowed..."
"Master, breakfast is served," he informed Ciel after setting up all the food on the table not far from the balcony. "We have poached eggs, toast, pancakes and syrup, scones with chocolate glaze, a bowl of mixed fruits and Jackson's Earl Grey tea."
He ignored the food, his concern was on the sleeping brunette beside him. "How is she?" Ciel asked, concern written on his face. He is too worried about Bella's state that he doesn't care if his long time friend see his caring side, a side of him he never showed anyone. Ever. Besides he knew that Sebastian won't say anything, at least that's what he thinks.
Sebastian walked over to Bella and checked her injuries.
"She will be fine and is on the road to recovery."
"Why hasn't she woken up yet?" Looking at her closely she fairly reminded him of one of the characters from a childrens story he came across during his travels called Snow white and the seven dwarfs. Red lips as the rose just waiting to be kissed, her chestnut hair framed her heart shaped face and fanned out on the pillow creating a halo effect, both contrasting her ivory skin. She looked peaceful and even with the bruises and scrapes she is still stunningly beautiful.
He averted his eyes quickly, a tinge of red colouring his cheeks as he remembered the night before. The kiss that both frightened and comforted him at the same time. He chuckled at the irony of him kissing the sleeping beauty.
Too bad the kiss didn't wake up the sleeping snow white.
It has been more than 14 hours since she became unconscious and within those hours there were times where she would whimper and say 'I'm sorry' over and over again with silent tears running down her temples. He wiped them away with his thumb or mumble words that are barely recognisable even to demon ears. Out of those sobs and apologies one word stand out the most.
'Ciel...'
Just his name from her lips sedate his anxiety and apprehension in a heartbeat, calming his beast within as well as making him feel emotions far stronger than familial love. Furthermore making him do things he never thought he would do in the first place. The kiss would forever be in his mind. It made him feel peace and completeness. This scared and confused him because it is new to him, true has been a demon for more than a hundred years, but within those years he never had fallen in love with anyone before, even in his human days. His trail of thoughts were interrupted by Sebastian.
"The bruise on her throat is less swollen and the marks are almost faded as well as the other bruises on her stomach, arms and legs. The cracked ribs on her right side is slowly healing, if more forced were applied she would have broken them. The bones on her leg has been set back before I had placed a cast on it, it will take weeks before it is removed. Aside from other light scratches there weren't any serious wounds that needed any stitches.
As for why she hasn't woke up yet, she had suffered quite a lot in a short time and her body knows it. If she awakes now she would be in a lot of pain, therefore to cope with it her body is resting until the pain is bearable. Her injuries are healing perfectly and I should assume she would be waking up soon, maybe tonight or tomorrow."
He let out a sigh of relief. "That's good to hear."
"I will be back in two hours to change her bandages." Ciel nodded.
"Sebastian. What happen to the head?" Ciel asked.
"It's currently locked in a safe in the library. I must admit the anatomy of the Cold ones is quite intriguing and at the same time quite disgusting. Even it was just the head it is aware of its surroundings as well as the condition of the rest of the body. I remember when Victoria tried screaming when her body was burning. Fortunately when her head was severed, it was along her voice box therefore disabling her ability to speak. I would have ripped it out anyhow if she screamed, I didn't want her to wake up Miss Swan."
Ciel scoffed. "I don't see anything fascinating with twitching dead body parts."
Sebastian poured some tea in a ceramic teacup.
"What do you think Miss Swan is planning to do with the head young master?"
"I am not sure, but I am looking forward to it when the time comes," Ciel stated taking a sip of the tea.
"I couldn't agree more, I'm quite curious to what Miss Swan has planned for the head."
Rolling the trolley filled with empty plates towards the door he asked Ciel, "I shall take my leave then. Is there anything else you need master?"
"Cancel all my appointments until further notice. That would be all Sebastian."
"Very well master. It shall be done." He bowed and exited the room leaving the couple alone.

Later that evening Ciel stared into the open flames, dancing and flickering, lighting up the silent dark room. An hour have passed since he left Bella's side. Leaving her made him uncomfortable, but he wouldn't want for Bella to be startled and overwhelmed when she sees him right beside her. That and also even if he would not admit to himself, he's somehow clueless as to how he will act in her presence when she wakes up. He kept reminding himself that she is nearby and in reach therefore nothing to worry about.
The grandfather clock from across the hall chimed to indicate it was an hour before midnight.
Minutes later Sebastian knocked and entered the room carrying a tray of tea.
"Master I have brought tea," he informed Ciel and began to set it neatly on a coffee table beside the dark brown couch Ciel was occupying that moment.
"Has she awoken yet Sebastian?"
"No master."
He indicated for Sebastian to sit on the opposite seat in front of him and he complied. They sat in silence with only the cracking of firewood from the fireplace, the ticking of the clock from the hall, their calm breathing and the shallow breathing of the sleeping lady from the other room heard.
Then Ciel spoke. "Sebastian..."
"Yes young master?"
"Have you...Have you..." He shook his head. "Never mind, continue with your work."
"Are you sure?" He asked with knowing evident in his tone and eyes.
"Yes I am.." Ciel said trailing off with a hint of uncertainty.
"Are you sure you don't want to ask anything concerning a sleeping beauty next door?" He smirked and asked again, emphasising 'sleeping beauty'.
That got Ciels attention, he whipped his head and narrowed his eyes at his demon friend and butler.
"What do you know Sebastian?" He stared at the demon butler intently before adding. " And you better tell me, that's an order."
"As you wish my lord." He leaned back to the seat and smirked. "I know that you are feeling something towards Miss Swan and it isn't that of a friend or family, but something more, am I right?"
Ciel stood up and paced the length of the room. "She...She make me feel things that I haven't felt before. Like my heart ache like it was in a vice grip when she isn't around or when she is sad or hurt, the strong protective instinct when she is in trouble or near any male, feeling happy and content when she is around. Then there is that smile, her voice, blush colouring her cheeks, fruity floral scent... god, everything about her calls to me!"
"I yearn for her touch and presence," He raked his hands through his dark navy hair and looked at his friend again, pleading for an answer. "Why Sebastian...Why is she making me feel these things?"
"Maybe because she is your mate master."
He suddenly stopped pacing and stared at Sebastian like he had grown a second head. "My...mate?"
He nodded.
Tilting his head to the side he asked again. "Demons have mates?"
"Well of course, no matter what you are whether it be a supernatural or human there is someone out there who is your other half or as mortals refer these days 'soul mate'." Sebastian said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Then how come I never heard any demon introduce their partner as a mate before?"
"Well because they are companions not mates. Unlike other supernatural's, mates is a very rare thing to us demons. There are only a handful known till this day, maybe one or two couples at the most. So to pass immortality they find companions to spend time with, that is until they find their mate."
"How come I am only hearing this now?" Ciel growled.
Sebastian shrugged. "Well you never asked before...besides what's the fun in that if I just tell you right away."
Ciel glared, but realisation hit him.
"So she is my mate..?"
"Haven't we established this before master?"
" I know that, but I meant -" he was cut off by Bella's change of breathing, she is waking up.
"Go to her. We will continue this next time."
" Yes my lord," he stood up and made his way to the door. "Will you go back to her?"
"No not yet. I don't want her to be overwhelmed."
"Very well. Have a good evening."
Ciel sat in front of the fireplace until the last flames burned out and the moon was high in the sky. The clock chimed again, this time indicating it was midnight. Christmas. And what a Christmas it is. He leaned back and closed his eyes.
Isabella Swan, a human, his contractor is his mate.

-Bella's Dream-
A woman with long chestnut hair and chocolate brown eyes looked lovingly at the little bundle of joy in her arms. After months of waiting she has finally arrived.
"Hello there little one.." She cooed and placed a tender kiss on the child's forehead.
Tears of joy streamed down her flushed cheeks.
A man with raven hair and storm grey eyes walked towards the mother and child and followed the mother, placing a tender loving kiss on the baby's and his wife's temple.
"She's beautiful my love." His eyes cloud with tears threatening to fall. He sat beside them and placed comforting arms around them.
After years of hiding and months of protecting his wife, they were able to deliver their child safe and sound.
The baby girl stirred and opened her chocolate and grey speckled doe eyes, she looked up and gave them a heart warming smile.
"She looks a lot like like you," he gently poked the baby girl's button nose making her giggle in delight.
"See she agrees my love."
The baby reached and grabbed his finger with all her might, not sure what to do, she sucked the thumb of one hand and the other was still holding her father's finger, making her parents chuckle in amusement.
"I wonder what would our little princes want for her first birthday? A puppy?...A kitty?...A pony?" He mused.
The woman smiled lovingly. "I see she has already wrapped you around her fingers," she mocked.
He huffed."I am not afraid to admit it, when it comes to my angelic wife and my little princess. Their wish is my command."
She raised a perfect shaped eyebrow. "Princess?"
He snorted and proceed to cross his arms over his chest, pride and protectiveness radiate from him."Yep and with her beauty I have a feeling I would be fending many suitors off untill the end of time."
At last their family is complete and they can live in peace, or so they thought.
...
The door suddenly swung open and in comes a rushing man with raven hair, his grey eyes filled with pain, panic and terror. "They have found us."
"No! That can't be. It's too soon." She stood up and held the crying baby closer.
He cupped both of her cheeks.
"Amelia my love, you must go. I will hold them off as long as possible."
"But..." She tried to protest.
"No buts my love...I will find you when this is over, I promise."
His assurance was a lie. Both knew that there was no other way out and when the night is over most likely both would not survive. He kissed his wife passionately one last time and placed a loving kiss on top of the sleeping babies' forehead.
"I love you both with all my heart. Take care young one." He whispered before disappearing at the door.
...
Amelia carried the baby through the forest at the dead of night dodging tree trunks , leaping over logs and other forest obstructions. The sky was covered with the dark veil of night, stars were hidden and moon was tainted red. Crashes, screams and the clashing of metals can be heard from the house she escaped from. Each step she took takes her further and further away from the battlefield.
Hours have passed before she felt a presence gaining on her. She knew it wasn't that of her loved one as she felt him fall a few hours ago, it was like part of her was gone. He is gone. No matter how much it hurt her she must move on and find safety for the baby.
Dashing through towering trees she remembered a small cottage that resides just on the bank of a lake miles from where they are now.
Using some of her strength she created a shadow duplicate of her form and dashed off in the opposite direction. She was glad her love taught her to create a shadow duplicate of their forms just in case they are in dire need. Just thinking about him put another stab in her beating broken heart. She pulled the sleeping child closer to her. She is the only one left. A reminder of him, their love for each other.
Reaching the cottage she noticed the occupants are sitting on the couch watching tv. Without wasting any time she conjured a small basket filled with soft blankets and placed the sleeping baby inside.
Gathering the last of her strength she kneeled down and placed her hands over the sleeping baby. Bright swirl of lights emitted from her body and covered the little bundle like a warm blanket filled with love, comfort and sadness.
"Take care little one and be a good girl."
Her form started to fade like sand in the wind.
"Remember that your mother and father loves you very much."
Her body started to fade starting from her toes making its way up.
"I never wished for this to happen..." Silent tears fell on her pale cheeks.
"I'm sorry we could not be there when you grow up, I hope you will understand."
With her last breath she smiled and spoke one last time.
"We love you...Isabella."
The two couples who sat in front of the television startled from a cry that came from the other side of the door. Both looked at each other before deciding to investigate the source of the cry.
A man with wavy brown hair and brown eyes grabbed a bat from the side table and made his way to the door.
"Stay behind me Renee," he gruffly said.
"Oh hush Charlie, it doesn't sound dangerous...it almost sounds like -"
She stopped mid sentence when Charlie opened the door to be greeted by a crying baby in a basket.
"What on earth.." said Charlie.
Renee stepped outside to find no one nearby. "Hello...is anyone there?" She asked, but was met with silence.
Feeling sympathy for the crying baby he picked her up and cradle her while cooing softly. "Now, now little one...stop crying..." He saw an embroidered blanket wrapped around the little bundle. "Isabella..."
