Swish...

Swish...

Bella watched the sparkling blue open waters sway in the wind from the open balcony. Rubbing her eyes with the palm of her hands again she looked outside to see whether she was dreaming.

"How...what...when?" She stammered, looking around the large ship she was currently standing on, confused as to how she ended up there.

Looking around she was in a room that look similar to one they used to live in with a large king size bed, cream silk sheets, two double doors from what she could guess one for a wardrobe and the other for the exit and a single door for the bathroom and a wide open spaced balcony.

This can't be right...apartment on a ship?...

"Good morning my lady. I hope you had a pleasant sleep."

Her head whipped around seeing Sebastian with a trolley filled with a tea set and cakes of different varieties.

"Sebastian?...How...When...Where the hell are we?" She asked in broken sentences. The last thing she remembered was falling asleep in a car on their way to the airport. She looked back outside and to the demon butler a couple of times before motioning him to carry on with his answer.

"Were on a ship in the middle of the ocean," said Sebastian, mirth shining in his ruby orbs.

Bella shot him a glare. "Why thank you for pointing it out, how could I not know that?" She said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Setting the tea set on a nearby table he answered truthfully. "Sorry my lady I didn't mean to insult you, but to answer your question, we are currently on a ship heading towards England."

"But I thought we were going to take the plane?" She frowned.

Sebastian approached her and carried her bridal style to the nearest chair. She panicked when she woke up on a ship only to notice her casted left leg, pain shot through her leg and she winced when he sat her down. He grabbed the white medical eye patch from the bedside table and put it on her.

"Miss Swan I would advise you to use the crutches next time you walk." He said pointing to the crutches beside her bed. "It will be a while before you can fully use your other leg," he chided to the pouty brunette sitting on a chair.

She crossed her arms like a little child and whined. "Why did his mate have to break my leg?" She huffed, "What's with those two sparkling disco balls obsession with torture and breaking bones?! I swear she is more like a twin than a mate." She exclaimed rhetorically waving her hands in the air causing the demon to chuckle.

"Well to answer your first questions, that was the plan at first, but seeing as you haven't healed fully, it would put more strain on your body if you were stuck on a long flight. Therefore the master decided to take the ship instead. This way even though it will take longer you will have time to relax and enjoy the scenery the vast ocean and ship has to offer. Besides you have not taken a cruise before, am I right?"

She took a sip of her tea, smiling at its relaxing and calming effects. "Actually I have, before when I was still living with Renee. She used to drag me on cruises during my summer holidays." A pang of sadness and longing hit her as she mentioned her free spirited mother.

Shaking her head to dispel some happy yet sad memories, she continued, "Although I have never been on a ship this big before, usually she goes for affordable trips."

"I see." said Sebastian.

"Where is Ciel?" She asked, taking a bite out of the divine chocolate cake the demon butler brought. If her guess is right it was made by none other than Sebastian because it is far too good to come from the kitchens made by the chef or pre-packed from a shop. Besides she had tasted more than enough homemade mouth watering cuisine made by Sebastian to recognise which ones he made and which one he hasn't.

"The young master is currently getting things up to speed with the company."

"Oh.." she said, disappointment evident in her features. She wondered maybe, just maybe Ciel would want to explore the ship with her.

"Oh who I am kidding. He wouldn't want to go with you, he is far too busy with things far more important than the exploration of the large ship with a human." She thought.

Seeing Bella's sad look Sebastian informed her, "Though I think the master is finishing up soon, I mean he has been working for quite some time now and I think a break would do him good. Maybe you can invite him to explore the ship, he too has never been on this particular ship before. Seeing as it has only been on duty for five years. Also we usually travel by private jet for long destinations."

The young brunette beamed a smile. "That sounds great!" She exclaimed. "Do you think he would mind going after I finish with tea and cakes?"

"I think it will be a great time," He replied, knowing that even though his master is swamped with work he would always give time to the lovely lady in front of him. Besides he could never say no to her, sometimes.

With that she sat in comfortable silence, enjoying the fresh salty breeze from the ocean and the warm sunlight from the open balcony door. It has been two weeks since she has woken up and her recovery went without a hitch, all thanks to Sebastian's medical care. Lifting her leg to rest on the nearby chair, she is quite grateful that even though she is injured both demons isn't smothering her unlike some vampires she knew. For example, Sebastian had presented her with crutches so she can use it to move about instead of carrying her like a child to her desired destination. Also they still even let her go out into the park whenever she wanted provided that she would keep her phone with her at all times just in case she needs help or when a vampire kidnaps her again.

Speaking of vampire, she was quite glad one name has been crossed off of her hit list. Both demons asked the next day what would she do with the head and her answer was a shrug and 'I'm not sure yet' resulting in the disappointment in their eyes. But she assured them that when she knows what to do with the head they would be the first to know. She let out a tinkling giggle thinking what became of the head as of that moment. That said head is currently wrapped in fabric and stored in a suitcase in one of the rooms in the apartment they currently occupied.

Time passed and as if on time a knock on the door was heard just when Sebastian is clearing the table.

"Come in," answered Bella.

In came Ciel with semi formal clothes, his white shirt sleeves folded all the way to his elbows, black shoes and dark grey pants.

"Good morning, Miss Swan," he greeted with a curt nod.

She smiled and nodded. "Good morning to you too Mr. Phantomhive."

"Did you sleep well?"

"Yes I did thank you. Although you gave me quite a scare, my last memory was me falling asleep in a car that I believed was travelling towards the airport, not the port."

He chuckled." Well, it was a last minute decision."

It really wasn't, he planned it long before Bella woke up from her slumber. He wasn't in a hurry to go back to where it all started, though it has been more than a century since he was there, the memories are still fresh in his mind like it was just yesterday.

He walked out onto the balcony and propped his elbows onto the iron railing, leaning forward enjoying the warm breeze from the ocean.

"Hey Ciel?" She started.

"Yes Miss Swan?" He glanced back seeing a nervous swan.

"Uhm... I was wondering if you would like to explore the ship? I can understand if you are busy or you have- " she stopped her babbling when Ciel replied.

"Miss Swan, I would be delighted to accompany you," he said now looking straight at her.

Sebastian who has been quiet for a while passed a cream wool sweater and crutches to Bella who looked at him in confusion. "Just in case it gets chilly my lady."

"Thank you."

"Now shall we head out?" He walked towards the door and held it open for her.

Thanking Sebastian, she wrapped the sweater over her neck loosely and grabbed the clutches from his hold.

Both walked slowly along long red carpeted, well lit halls and stopping once in a while to look out the round glass windows and rest.

"So where do we start first?" He asked.

She bit her bottom lip and scrunched her nose, a habit Ciel noticed when she is in thought or nervous. Unbeknownst to Bella he swallowed hard due to the effects she was having on him. He wanted to tug those cherry lips of hers either with his finger tips or his lips. He is yet again brought of his fantasy by Bella calling for him.

"Ciel? I said how about we work from the bottom up?"

"Sorry I was lost in thought. Sounds like a good plan. From the bottom to up then."

With that they took the elevator heading to the ground floor. Both are in awe at the sheer size of the ship. Bella thought it may be considered a small floating moving Island by just adding more trees and mass of soil here and there. It was well designed, each colour complements the other, not to dark or too light a balance of both.

They visited various shops on board, enjoyed strolling through the open areas located in various areas of the ship and spent quite an amount of time browsing through the on board library which was probably the highlight of the day for her.

During their walk there was a time when Bella had suddenly stopped and stared at an advert of a play that is currently shown on their on board theatre. This gave Ciel an idea of having Bella spend more time with him.

Ever since Bella arrived from Victoria's little get together he never stayed away from her, he is either in the same room as her or nearby, always within reach. That and also after learning that she is his mate, he always tried to find ways to spend time with her, get to know her more. He longed for her warm touch, to hold her in his arms.

The sun dipped over the horizon, changing different hues of orange, red and yellows to dark blue and indigos. A luminous moon gleamed and the white twinkling stars gave harmony to the black blue sky.

Bella thought the day couldn't get any better, but boy she was wrong. Here they are now lying on their backs on a rooftop staring up into the vast open sky lost in their thoughts. It was nearing sunset when they came across a small garden located on the top deck of the ship. At first she thought of resting on one of the benches looking out into the open sea until it was time to head back, but before she could even limp towards the bench she was swept off her feet and in no time placed on the rooftop. She was just about to protest and demand why he did it, but was meet with Ciel's back laid on the roof with his hands behind his head, looking straight up to the stars.

"Just lay back and rest. It was quite an exhausting day Isabella." He said sternly.

Bella sat beside him open mouthed and surprised. Though she has been with them for over a year, never once had he called her by her name it was always my lady or Miss Swan. Just hearing her name roll off his tongue sent pleasant shivers down her spine. It was like honey.

Not wanting to face his wrath and ruin a good day she complied and laid back, just mere inches away from each other. Both lay in silence looking at the constellations gleam in the velvet blanket. Minutes passed before Ciel broke the silence.

"Did you know I was a human before?" He started, rendering Bella speechless. She looked at him wide eyed, but he never took away his gaze from the stars. She wasn't quite sure what to say to that statement so she just lay there and fixed her sight on the brightest star up above.

He continued, bringing his hands on his stomach and lacing them together. "I was born into a happy family. My father was a nobleman and head of the Phantomhive household. I was the only child. Together with my father and Rachel, my mother, we lived in a house on the countryside just outside London. I was ten years old and I thought everything was perfect, that we will live happily ever after." He paused and gave humourless chuckle. "Boy I was very wrong..."

There on the rooftop he told Bella his history of how his so called relatives betrayed his family together with other aristocrats who took his family's lives and forced him into slavery. Then came the ritual where they used him as an offering to the demon they wished to summon. A demon to do their bidding. While he was undergoing torture he proclaimed he lost all faith in god, so with lack of faith, hatred, desperation and the wish for revenge combined he summoned Sebastian from the shadows of the demon realm to the mortal world. When the demon Sebastian finally appeared the aristocrats thought they have succeeded in summoning the demon therefore he will form a contract with them. Unbeknownst to them Sebastian favoured Ciel's soul more than theirs because of the quality. As a result he formed a contract with Ciel that states ' for those who have betrayed the Phantomhive family to experience the same level of humiliation and suffering he did', and in return Sebastian will do whatever he pleases with his soul.

Two years have passed and he came back to civilisation with Sebastian as his shadow, he was greeted back by his old butler Mr. Tanaka , Elizabeth his fiancé and Madame Red, his aunt - who had no part in the ritual whatsoever. Not long after his return he took over responsibilities that comes with being the head of the Phantomhive household. An example of those responsibilities is a duty he took over after his father's passing as the Queen's watchdog, accomplishing tasks set out by the Queen which most likely revolved around the supernatural world.

Lastly how he became a demon. It all started when a certain young nobleman, much like himself, named Alois Trancy, who had a fixation of getting revenge against Sebastian who was later found out was responsible for the strange deaths in his village which he thinks the reason why his little brother Luka is dead.

After one event lead to another, somewhere along the way whilst inside Ciel's body he had formed a new contract with Hannah, a maid which entails for Ciel's soul to never get eaten. Thus turning Ciel into a demon in the end.

By the time Ciel had finished his story Bella's head was resting on his chest with an arm around her for comfort while she sobbed. It surprised him when she suddenly curled up to him during the story. It was comforting for him, making it easier for him to continue on.

After a few minutes she calmed down. She looked into Ciel's eyes connecting her tear filled brown orbs with his icy ones, she asked between hiccups and sniffles. "Did...did you...manage to get your revenge in the end?"

He looked back up and answered. "Yes, yes I did."

"Did you make it painful?" She asked, making Ciel turn to her to see fire dancing in her uncovered eye.

He smirked, delighted to see anger in her eyes, not directed at him but to the vile humans.

"Very much."

She sat up and wiped the tears from her eyes with her sleeves. "Good!"

Silence came upon them again, Bella wondered why Ciel shared his past with her. It was so unusual of him. He was usually well kept with his past and emotions.

Ciel and Bella were brought out of their thoughts by a thud and cry from down below. Looking over the edge of the roof was a small girl no older than 5 with blonde pigtails tied with red ribbons, blue tear filled eyes, dressed in a simple white dress with flower patterns at the bottom and clutching what looked like 'Magic Rabbit', one of the Funtom companies' latest line of rabbit collection toys, which Ciel recognised at first glance. It is dressed up in a magician's trademark black tailcoat suit with white shirt underneath, black top hat that comes with life size wand for the owner. If he remembers correctly there were only a limited number of those rabbit made, possibly on the line of hundreds.

Both looked at the little girl crying for a few minutes wondering why hasn't anyone approached her. Bella giving Ciel a pleading look, he sighed and gathered her in his arms before landing soundlessly on the deck below. Using the crutches she limped towards the little girl slowly so she won't be startled or be afraid while Ciel remained where he landed.

"Are you ok? " Bella asked.

The little girl looked up at the sound of the voice and clutched her rabbit closer.

"I...I... lost..." She answered.

Bella came closer and wiped away the salty tears from her flushed cheeks. "There, there little one." She cooed and held an arm to her. "Come on, let's find mommy and daddy."

She sniffled before nodding and taking the offered arm.

Sebastian watched from a rooftop, out of their sight. He looked down at the couple staring into the night sky, contentment, peace and tranquillity shone in their eyes. He sat down letting his feet dangle over the edge, taking off his coat he folded his sleeves up to his elbows and raked his hands through his raven hair. Looking into the dark veiled distance a smile made its way to his lips. Finally. He thought. It was about time, the young master makes his move, bringing his walls that he has built up since the loss of his parents down and show Miss Bella the other side of him. Although he would never expected for his young master to tell his history so soon. Never the less It turned out good in the end, both are getting closer.
