Hello everyone! Just a heads up, when i update on Thursday, my AN might not be the happiest. I have a competition Thursday during school (it won't interfere with updates) and we have to act out a court case against another school. Cause it's a school club I do. I am the leading lady, main witness in the defense. It is fair to say I'm a little nervous. Ok, more than a little. So if I seem off lately, that is one of the reasons. Anyone wanting more information on my competition, PM me! If you can't, try asking in a review. I promise to answer any questions! Now, for my spiced up disclaimer: HI! I OWN NOTHING AT ALL! Like a hobo! BUT I GRANT YOU THE POWER TO ENJOY THE CHAPTER! Yeah, it's pretty bad. Oh well.
PS: sorry for not updating yesterday. I was behind on sleep, and really needed to catch up. Sorry.
Percy's POV
It took Wrath several minutes to climb back to shore and reach our little group. "Pooped out by a snake, then sprayed with water." He sighed. "Gee thanks."
We all laughed. After the day we had, laughter is the best thing.
Eventually, the laughter ceased. Everyone just stood there like morons, silently.
Then Wrath spoke up. "We need a new controller of the body. Who's in?"
Wrath's POV
"We need a new controller of the body. Who's in?"
For a second, everybody stared at me star struck. I shifted foot to foot, feeling uncomfortable with all the stares on me.
Alexander, in all his intelligent glory, asked, "What?"
My sniggering caused the others to break from their shocked trances, and they all started asking questions too, or just kept staring at me weirdly.
Percy's question was louder than all the others, and made me pause. "Why?"
"Why what?" Was my genius response.
Percy elaborated, "I mean, why don't you just do it?"
I copied the others and stared. Not at myself, but at Percy. "What? Why would i do that?"
"I don't know. You tell me. Why don't you want to be back in charge?"
I looked down at my wet toes. "I don't deserve it. After all, I've been a real jerk to you guys. I don't want to be anymore. Besides, I haven't made the best impression on Thalia and Anne. I don't want Thalia to try and kill me again."
Percy and the others chuckled. "Yeah, Thalia does leave that impression on people. She's a strong one, she is."
I chuckled as well. "Yeah..."
After we stopped laughing, Percy continued talking. "Ok, so you don't want to go back because you "don't deserve it", and you're scared of Thalia."
I pretended to be flustered. "What? T-that's... Absurd! I did nothing of the sort! I-I mean, she's not that scary!"
They gave me the raised eyebrow and the crossed arms. I sighed, and smiled a bit myself.
"Okay, maybe she is a little scary..." I admitted.
"Little?"
"Ok ok! She's really scary! Happy now?" I confessed.
"Yes, very," Percy laughed, as he tried to seriously comment.
Once everyone was done laughing at my expense, I said, "So, who's gonna do it? Any takers?"
No one spoke up. (Cause they're a bunch of chickens, that's why!)
I sighed. "Thanks for adding your ideas, guys."
"You're welcome! No problem!" Jake piped up. I rolled my eyes, but couldn't help but chuckle.
"Here's an idea: why don't we all vote on who we think should be in control? Write it on a piece of paper. I'll check off the paper pieces, and announce who has the most votes. You can't vote for yourself. Sound good?"
After a series of nods, I conjured up some paper and pencils, then passed them out. Writing my vote on my own paper, I waited for the others to finish. As they slowly came up, I read their votes. Most made me smile. Others, I frowned at in confusion.
Once everyone gave me their papers, I reread the votes. Smiling in satisfaction, I stood and announced, "The votes are in! Before I announce the winner, I need to tell you that if you don't win, you shall go back to your own area, unless you ask me to stay here. Or, unless you ask anyone else to stay with them. The area of the winner is to be empty, unless you're passing by to reach your own place. Sound good?"
Making sure that I got an impatient nod from each of my brothers, (and a "get on with it!" from a person whose name shall not be mentioned), I continued with my speech.
"Alright! And the winner, who will have full control of the body as soon as I say their name, is-"
Thalia's POV (mwahaha! I'm evil. Hehe.)
Soon, the green eyes belonging to Peter closed for good and the hand on my leg became limp. It brought a new wave of sobs across my small group of females, Anne running off to cry in the corner, Artemis averting her eyes, and I leaning closer and hugging him.
Even if I know that the heart will start beating again as soon as someone else gets in charge of the body, since that's the way the knife works, it didn't stop me from wrapping my arms around the cold body.
As I pressed my ear against the clammy chest, I felt something move. Again, and again, and again. Heart beats. Someone took control.
But who?
I don't know, but I do know that I won't risk it with the knife anymore. This time, I'd see who it is first, then strangle them. Seems like a fool proof plan, right?
Very slowly, green eyes pried themselves open. Not Wrath, I thought. Ain't that a relief. As I gazed into the eyes of the person in Percy's body, I whispered out one word, to which the man nodded.
"-" (can't give it away!)
