The FireIce Demon of the West

Inuyasha walked cautiously toward the small market. Everyone stared at him in wonder but no one seemed particularly frightened of him which was a great advantage. He bought some warm clothing for himself and something for Kaya and Riku. He figured being reptiles they wouldn't take too kindly to the winter more so than anyone else. Inuyasha then bought some more food for their supplies; he didn't bother to get Shushu anything to keep him warm. His fur coat was more than enough for him.

Once he got back to the group they all left toward the mountain, it would take only half a day's walk according to the old man who had given them a map before they left him.

Everyone else became tired after a while but Inuyasha couldn't feel tired at all. He was so fired up, so ready to take this demon on that nothing could possibly stop him, not even the tiredness of half a day's walk. They finally reached the mountain, the storm above was fierce, snow and wind swirling around the mountain above them. On the bottom though, where they stood staring above, it was still, only snow covered the foot of the mountain and there was no wind at all.

"Looks like only the beginning of my journey up will be easy." Inuyasha murmured to himself, not caring if the others heard or not. "Well here I go!" He finally announced.

"Wait Inuyasha!" Kaya called after him as he began to climb. "Won't you need our help?"

"Nope! I can handle this mangy thing on my own." Inuyasha called back and kept climbing.

Kaya and her brother suddenly realised that due to the cold they would be of no help to Inuyaha anyway. If they were frost dragons it would be a different story but their bodies depended heavily on warmth from the sun and not even the clothing Inuyasha gave them would help much. They only helped them endure the coldness from the storm above.

Shushu jumped up and chased after Inuyasha enthusiastically, barking and skipping excitedly. Apparently adventure called and he couldn't resist.

"Shushu go back you mangy dog! I can handle this on my own!" But Shushu wouldn't have it. He kept following Inuyasha until he gave in. "Fine then, come along!"

It didn't take them any time at all to reach to the top of the mountain, the wind was tossing Inuyahsa around a little and it was hard to see. The white swirling snow in front of him was blinding and his nose was already getting frost bite.

A screeching roar filled the air and everything drowned out. His thoughts, and anything else in front of him was nothing as he heard the creature roar again. Red glowing eyes peered through the gushes of white wind, and he could see a bright blue glow underneath them.

The creature moved forward where the little bit of sunlight lit its face. It was a huge white monster, a furry beast with spikes along its spine and sticking out behind its neck. It looked like a huge polar bear with a broad cat-like face. It was towering over Inuyasha and he guessed it was about twenty feet tall. It growled a sinister deathly sound. Its huge black claws were tipped with icy blue that suddenly went to swipe at Inuyasha who flew back as soon as he caught sight of them coming his way. Fireice suddenly streamed from the tips of its claws and more fireice yet was oozing out of its mouth like fog from dry ice. The best went to strike again and Inuyasha saw the bolder where it struck was on fire at first but then cooled down and froze to seal the flames within. How could this even be possible?

The creature chuckled as Inuyasha stared at it wide mouthed. For once in his life he felt terrified, even just a little, this beast was a real monster.

Inuyasha swallowed his fear and leaped toward the monster to strike his first blow.

Authors Note: It was difficult to come up with what the FireIce demon would look like. I didn't want him to seem too cliché... But anyway what do you guys think of my FireIce demon so far?
