Bella stared out the window as the surrounding landscape changed from towering metals, cement and glass to trees, grass and the wide open blue sky. They arrived in England a few hours ago and now were on their way towards Ciel's home, The Phantomhive manor.
Ever since she figured out her true feelings for the young master she thought it would be best for her to distance herself from him.
Best for him...
She shook her head of how familiar it sounded.
No...I am not Edward...I am pulling away before his feelings becomes strong. Besides I did not make any hollow promises...
She kept reminding herself, she doesn't want to suffer the same heartache like before and she also doesn't want for Ciel to suffer like she did. Even though he is a demon deep, deep, deep down she saw goodness in his heart therefore she thought him suffering another heartbreak may dim or extinguish what goodness he has left. She couldn't afford to do that to him. He had lost a lot of people in his life and she doesn't want to be next person added to the 'gone forever' pile. He's a good person well good demon as he can be.
Sebastian who sat on the opposite seat sighed at the current predicament. It has been two days since both of his masters went out on their first date and the morning after everything changed. He noticed how his mistress distanced herself from the young master, in a subtle way that his master didn't notice, but not from the demon butler. He wondered what happened. Last time he saw them they were walking indoor while escorting a little girl in pigtails in search for her parents. Both sporting content smiles.
What happened? He thought.
Looking to his left he saw his master was also looking out the window in confusion and sadness.
Could the young master already figured out the mistress' slow detachment to him or the fact that he will be going back after more than a hundred years to where it all began? Which one is it?
Ciel looked at the passing blurs of trees and green landscape while getting lost in his thoughts. He doesn't know what possessed him to decide to move back to the old home. Deep within his conscious something or someone was nagging him to go back. Go back home.
After they had left the mansion years ago they had kept tabs on all of the staffs friends to see what became of them. Surprisingly all of the staff stayed until it was time for them to depart the living world. Their loyalty and hope that their young master would come back sent warmth into his cold demon heart.
Mr. Tanaka, the head butler before Sebastian joined the household took care of the property until he died of old age. Along his side is Finnian who not only took care of him, but also helped him to the best of his abilities with housework, from cooking to gardening and cleaning. The boy became a great man.
Two years had passed after they departed. Mey-Rin married Baldroy and built a cottage not far from the mansion. They didn't have kids, but both lived a happy and content life surrounded with family and friends.
Then there is Snake, he never married and stayed in the mansion until his time in the living world ended. He too helped Mr. Tanaka and Finnian with house chores alongside everyone who stayed in the mansion.
Lastly Pluto, no one had seen him since they left. It seemed he too disappeared the same time as they did.
At some point over the years they had been gone, the mansion was deserted because its living occupants passed away. So before they had left London Ciel had instructed for Sebastian to restore any broken areas like windows or doors and upgrade things like its technology before they arrived. Of course as a demon butler, it will be done before they can say tea. All thanks to his ability called manifestation. With it Sebastian is able to recreate anything, like a building with all its decoration and furniture in a matter of hours. This has been done before, long ago when the Phantomhive manor was burnt to the ground.

After hours on the road the car turned right onto a secluded road far too similar to the Cullen's long winding driveway, with towering trees surrounding the forest boundary. A few more minutes passed until they reached giant black iron gates that separates the winding road to what she guessed was Phantomhive Mansion.
Bella couldn't believed her eyes as they passed the giant gates. Sighing she looked out the window for another stretch of road that welcomed them surrounded by more towering trees at each side that creates what looked like a border between the road and the open field behind. She looked back at Sebastian with a silent question as to where are they and had they neared the house yet.
"My lady, The Phantomhive household is surrounded by vast lands. The property starts from the iron gates and stretches for miles and miles in each direction."
How am I suppose to answer that? She thought, grumbling something along the lines of 'stupid rich people' and she found it ironic that they always have long driveways leading to their houses. She nodded and looked back outside, resting her chin in her palm.
After few minutes of silence had passed he spoke again. "My lady, if you would look ahead you should be able to see the house come into view."
Her eyes widened at the sight before her. It is a large house, larger than any house they stayed before, it is truly a mansion. It is filled with so many windows she can't count them with all her ten fingers and in the middle is large oak doors that is the entrance.
As they all got out of the vehicle, a loud thumping sound echoed through the yard, getting louder and louder each second. Looking around for the source of the sound a blurry figure can be spot in the distance.
"Is that..." Ciel started.
"Yes, my lord I believe it is..." Sebastian continued.
"Who? ... What is it?" Asked Bella, looking back and forth between the moving figure and the young master.
Within minutes the blurry figure came into focus to show what looked like a giant dog running towards them, its silver fur glistening under the sun's rays, crimson eyes sparkling with happiness and excitement, tongue out and covered with drool, pearly white teeth showcasing and its tail wagging happily.
Bella backed away at the sight. She knew one thing for sure, the running dog...isn't just a normal dog.
"What is that...?" She asked pointing.
"My lady..." Sebastian started but was quickly tackled to the ground by a silver blur.
"Sebastian!" Bella exclaimed.
She looked at the butler in worry and panic thinking the worst when she came upon a sight that made her double over in laughter. There on the floor getting cover with slob from a giant dog is Sebastian.
"Pluto," he said sternly eyes flashing to a bright crimson before going back to its burgundy colour causing the silver beast to freeze and back away slowly. His ears were flat, head bowed and ruby eyes shone with regret.
The dog whined, bowed his head low with his large paws covering his eyes. Sebastian sighed looking at his attire, his suit was covered with dirt, dust and droll.
"This is why I don't like dogs," he murmured to himself, but it was heard by Bella.
"That is a dog?" She asked pointing at the large ball of silver in front of them.
"A demon hound to be exact my lady."
Bella tilted her head in thought and after a few minutes of contemplation she carefully approached the whining hound.
Her footsteps didn't go unnoticed by the hound and he looked up with his big bright crimson eyes. Sniffing the air for any danger, he smelt something floral and fruity coming from the woman in front of him. It is quite pleasing and calming at the same time, he thought.
Ciel and Sebastian watched from the sidelines as Bella approached Pluto, seeing as he is laying down and calm, both demons didn't feel the need to stop Bella's curiosity.
"Why is Pluto here? Why now?" Asked Ciel, not taking his eyes from Bella.
"I don't know master, but the last time I was here there was no sign of him anywhere," the demon butler mused wondering the same thing.
They were brought out of the musings by Bella's squeal of delight. Right before their eyes is a sight they had never seen before. A demon hound, playing with a human...a female human who he only met mere seconds ago. Bella was snuggled against Pluto's silver fur with a content smile while the hound was wagging its tail in excitement.
"My...my, Master I think Pluto has taken a liking to Miss Swan," said Sebastian, followed by a low grumble of annoyance from Ciel.
"Yeah, yeah whatever. I will be in my study when you need me. Don't forget to prepare dinner at six," he ordered walking towards the large oak doors, but not before giving the beautiful brunette a longing glance.
Sebastian bowed. "As you wish my lord."
"So fluffy..." Bella hummed in delight.

The next few hours was quite interesting to say at least, though Bella was debating whether it was good or bad. It was minutes after Bella had let go of Pluto so they could proceed with the tour of the house that said hound shimmered and transformed into a human male right before her eyes, naked as the day he was born at least that's what she thought, though he retained some of his features like his long silver hair and crimson eyes. Bella shrieked and covered her eyes as fast as she could.
It turned out he had something in common with the shapeshifters back in Forks, though in Pluto's case his original form is a dog instead of a human. A pang of loneliness, sadness and hurt flashed through her heart at the thought of the shape shifting abilities. She missed her wolfy best friend dearly.
They are in a better place, she reminded herself.
She shook her head to rid herself of the sad memories and proceeded to follow Sebastian through the manor. Looking out the window Pluto could be seen lounging around the courtyard in his doggy form. She had found he prefers to be in his beast form, which she is quite grateful for because whenever he turns into a man he is without any clothes and she had enough of seeing naked men when she was in Forks. She wondered what has happen to them, how was Sam, Emily, Seth, Quil and the temperamental Paul. Where there any more vampire attacks. How is Billy doing. Before they had left Seattle she had asked the young master and Sebastian whether there is a way to help Jacob's dad since she blamed herself for Jacob getting killed. Sebastian had suggested to provide Billy with a little trust fund, where by money will be sent to his account every month that goes towards bills and his care amongst other things. She agreed with the idea since she had plenty of money from her parent's insurance, also she had done the same with the Quileute community mainly for the pack. When the Cullen's left the pack became a second family to her, they helped her through her emotional state cheering her up during bonfire nights or just visits together with Jacob.
She hasn't talked to them or anyone in Forks for that matter after their burial. It was for the better because one thing she had noticed is that whenever they become somehow involved with her, they ended up getting injured or worse. Looking back at the people who became close to her, they had been put in danger and get hurt or died.

Later that night Sebastian walked through dimly lit, empty halls in search of his master and mistress. Knocking on the office door it didn't take long for a quiet 'come in' from the master. Opening the door with one hand whilst the other balanced a tray filled with a tea set and cakes he entered.
"Good evening young master, I brought some tea and cakes."
Ciel gave his butler a small 'hmnn' but didn't tear his gaze off the window.
Setting up the porcelain tea set, he asked Ciel. "Have you seen Miss Swan master, I looked in her room, but found it was empty as well as the library and the kitchen."
He was met with silence seeing as the young master's attention was somewhere else. Following his gaze he saw Bella out in the open space with her body laid back into Pluto's soft fur.
He finally took his gaze from his mate and turned to his butler. "What became of the head, I noticed that someone broke into the vault and the one who took it left some clue." Referring to the handful of silver fur scattered around the 'crime scene'.
"Ah that, It seemed that the dog has gotten a new bone or in this case a head to bury in the yard during one of his escapades. I figured I'd leave him to have his fun since the lady hasn't decided the fate of a certain red head."
Taking a sip of his tea he nodded in agreement. He didn't see any problem with it since for one its only a head and two the hound can dig a very deep hole to place it in and three he could fend off anyone who dares to touch the head who isn't his master and mistress.
Earlier, seeing as it was a clear and warm night Bella had decided to stay in the yard for a few hours after tea to look up into the sky. Together with Pluto they explored the yard until they had found a perfect spot to lay down and relax, looking at the vast open night sky spattered with bright stars.
Looking back at his master, he wondered how long had he been watching Miss Swan laying on the grass. Also when would his master realized that something is bothering the mistress and it isn't about the Cullens, any other vampire or her family, but someone really close to her. Someone with dark navy hair and glacier blue eyes.
