Hello to all you smart people reading this chapter! To those of you that play soccor, I give you credit. You have my respect, for some of my siblings also play soccor and its every weekend. I find it hard enough to sit in the sunshine and read my book, I can't imagine how hard your job is! Anyways, thanks for all the reviews last chapter! It really helps. :) You're tired of hearing this, and I'm tired of saying it, but I'll say it anyways. The poll, she is still up! Ha ha! No, that was a bad fake French imitation. I'm not French, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my awful fake accent thing. Oh well. What's done is done! I own nothing, and enjoy the chapter!
Thalia's POV
I smirked at this small victory, and approached my cousin. He didn't resist or struggle, he laid there on the ground as if the fight had been knocked out of him. I placed my hand on his ribs, and even at that brief contact I could feel them poking into his skin, surely broken.
In an instant, Percy gasped and clawed at my hand. Retracting my arm, I looked into his eyes scowling. They almost looked like they were those of an animal, for they were wild and lost, scared and feral. After a second, the animal drained out of them, the pupils retreated until they were normal sized again, and Percy looked up at me.
"I'm sorry," he simply stated. "That hurt."
I stared at him hard. "No dip Sherlock," I finally retorted. He snorted, and I knew he was fine. Then, we both started laughing like a pair of crazies. Straight from the Loony Bin down the street.
Anne had to interrupt our moment of hysteria. "Hey wackjobs. I think we need to set those ribs, don't we?"
I sighed. "I don't suppose anyone knows how to do it?"
Silence. "Great. Just great. I'll do it."
Crap.
Thats when Mr. Honorable spoke up. "It's okay, really. I'm fine Thalia. You don't have to do anything, I'll be fine."
Not thinking he'd take the challenge, I snorted, "Oh yeah? Well then, Mr. Perfectly Fine, why don't you stand up then? Ya know, instead of lying on the floor like an idiot."
To my horror, and obviously the other females' horrors as well from their intakes of breath, they didn't think Percy would do it either. But there he was, struggling to sit up, and then to stand up. Artemis, Anne, and I were all shocked stiff, paralyzed as Percy's bones creaked and popped. As he tried to stand, something even snapped, and everyone in the room winced. Tears welled up in Percy's eyes, but he pushed them back down.
Finally, Percy was standing up, two hands on the columns supporting the ceiling, and heavily leaning against it. It was his triumphant smirk and pained eyes that made me break from the trance and join him.
"You didn't have to seriously do that you idiot," I spoke, nudging his foot with my toe. "I was joking."
"I know. That's why I had to do it," Percy declared. I stared, and he elaborated. "I'm fine. I didn't want you to waste your time on me if I'm perfectly fine."
I sighed he'd to acknowledge his words. "Okay, okay. You seem fine (I guess). I mean, you're standing after all. But can I please heal you? It's a quick thing."
"No. You said if I could stand up-"
"I know, I know. Okay, fine. You're a big boy. But if I see you fall down or look like you're hurt, you're lying back on the ground and I'm healing you. Got it?" I asked.
"Yup," Percy agreed.
"Okay..." I warily accepted the terms of the agreement.
"Hey Percy!" Anne called out. "Come sit over here next to me!"
For a second, Percy's face showed dread. But it was gone so fast that I thought I'd imagined it. "Okay, coming! One sec!"
Percy took a step forwards, still with both hands on the solid column. He shifted his weight a bit, and was now standing straight. I watched, curious and suspicious. Then, when he could take no more steps without taking his hands off the column, Percy slowly took off one hand, then the other.
Percy took one step (more like a shuffle in my opinion), then it all went wrong. With nothing to keep him steady, Percy tripped over nothing and fell to the hard floor. Before hitting the ground, Percy moved his body to be in a push-up position, so when he hit the floor, he was stuck in a push-up position. His head and body remained as it was, except for his arms and knees, which I think might've strained under the intense sudden pressure.
"Oh gods Percy! Are you okay?! I'm so so sorry!" Anne exclaimed.
Rolling onto his back and spreading out his limbs, as if making a snow angle, Percy panted, "I-it's cool. I'm good. It's all g-good. Yeah."
I narrowed my eyes at my cousin. "You little liar."
He looked up at me and forced a smile. "Oh, hey. Thals, about that..."
"Yeah. The little 'accident' that just occurred. You obviously aren't fine. Now, I should probably check to make sure you're fine."
Percy's eyes widened and he didn't bother to hide it. "A-what? I-I'm fine thihgh! You, you said it yourself!"
I smirked at his discomfort. "Oh yes, I did say that didn't I? But that was before you fell and might've hurt yourself again! It's my nature as a loving cousin to help you in any way I can."
Mumbling to himself, Percy muttered, "I hate you," you meaning me.
