Across the hall Ciel sat staring into the moonless sky while listening to his mate quietly sob. His heart ached at not being able to be close to her, to hold her, to whisper reassurances to her, to make her believe that she is not alone, contract or not.
Wanting to feel her close he stood up and walked towards the door, quietly he closed the distance and as a few nights before he sat in front of her room with his back against the white door. He sat there unmoving, even after seeing Sebastian standing outside he couldn't find it in himself to be surprised. His mate on the other side of the door is the only thing that mattered to him, nothing else.
"Master ... I assume you know that I would be gone for a few days carrying out Miss Swan's order," Sebastian whispered, but with demon hearing it was clear as day.
"Just do it fast..."
"Yes my Lord, but before I go I trust you are going to be OK by yourself young master?"
Ciel glared at the demon butler, "Who do you take me for Sebastian? Of course I can take care of myself for a few days without you. I am not as incompetent as I used to be and you know that."
"I apologize young master. If you are sure then I shall take my leave. I have informed Miss Swan of my departure and she told me that there is nothing to worry about concerning food as she can cook herself. She also bid me a safe and fruitful journey."
Ciel nodded staring into the empty space in front of him.
With bow Sebastian turned to leave, "And before I go..." The raven haired turned around and looked back, "Young master, please don't burn the house while I'm gone," mirth dancing in his maroon eyes.

The next day the demon butler found himself sitting in an office chair waiting for his name to be called. Fishing out his silver pocket watch with the Phantomhive crest he looked at the time.
09.00
"Mr. Michaelis , Mr. Jenkins will see you now, " The blonde secretary said, eyeing Sebastian like a piece of meat.
Flashing the secretary a panty dropping smile he went into the office.
There, seated in a chair behind the desk, was a bald man wearing a crisp striped suit, looking over what looked like documents in front of him.
Earlier he had searched the hospital archives and the Swan residence for her birth certificate. The Swan residence was still in her name and standing as she wanted to keep the house as a reminder of her family and friends, though when she dies the deed to the house will be transferred to one of the pack members who might be starting a family, but for now the house was hers.
Now Sebastian was in the office of a certain lawyer called . "Please have a seat Mr. Michaelis," Mr Jenkingins gestured to the seat in front of him, "Now what can I do for you?"
Sebastian leaned back and laced his gloved fingers together, "I am here to inquire about certain adoption documents you had forged nineteen and a half years ago."
"I am sorry to inform you sir, but I have no clue how you had come to the conclusion that I had forged such documents. It goes against my principles," Jenkins said looking at Sebastian intently.
Sebastian's lips twitched, humans are such terrible liars. If the lawyer thought he could lie straight to his face, then he thought very wrong, besides the raven haired butler didn't arrive at the office without searching everything he could to find out about said lawyer. Leaning forward he looked the sweating lawyer straight in the eyes, "Don't take me to be daft Mr. Jenkins, I know for a fact that ever since you had taken over this company from your father you had been making documents to ...'special' clients that your father had served all through his career."
He knows..., Jenkins thought.
The flickering maroon eyes in front of him told the lawyer that he wasn't the same as his 'special' clients. This person in front of him was far more dangerous than a vampire, "I assure you I don't know what you are talking about Mr. Michaelis. I ask you to kindly leave my office or I will have to call security," Taking his eyes of Sebastien for a moment he reached to the table to call for security.
If the lawyer think he could scare or intimidate the butler, he was wrong. Before he could even touch the phone a blur of silver and a dull thud echoed through the quiet room followed by a sharp pain in his hand. Snapping his gaze to his hand, his eyes widened. His hand was pinned to the tabled with what look like a polished silver knife. He tried to scream, but the sound was muffled by a white gloved hand.
"Now, now I wouldn't that if I were you Mr. Jenkins..." A melodic whisper said from his right side. He could feel a dark presence behind him, making the hairs on his neck stand up, "Now if I let go of your mouth, will you keep quiet?"
Despite his trembling and pained arm he managed to nod.
Sebastian let out a dark chuckle and took the knife from the table, unpinning the hand in the process. Going over to where he once sat he took a white handkerchief and sat back while wiping the blood off the utensil whilst enjoying the look of terror forming on the lawyers face.
"Shall we start this over again?" He looked at the trembling lawyer and back to his polishing, "I will ask you again Mr. Jenkins. Why were Isabella Swan's birth certificate and adoption papers forged nineteen and a half years ago? And don't leave anything out because I will know and I can assure you the vampires you serve are like harmless puppies compared to us," Sebastian said, his once maroon eyes were now swirling crimson rubies.
The lawyer believed the raven haired butler, something about his eyes and the aura surrounding him, he knew deep inside that he was lucky enough to be alive and breathing from the moment he entered the room. Cradling his wounded hand he looked at the butler for permission to search his archives.
"W- we had forged the documents because I couldn't track her biological parents or anyone from her family tree at all. I had looked in every country and even did a DNA test to get a match, but nothing...there wasn't even a close match...it's like she didn't even exist before Charlie and Renee found her on their door step."
"I see..."

In no time he was reporting about his findings. Unfortunately even with his demon abilities he wasn't able to track who Bella's biological parents were and it frustrated the butler to no end. He couldn't stand not being able to complete his mission. He had looked everywhere, but there was no trace of Bella's parents anywhere, no address or birth certificate. He even looked for the items she was found with as a baby, but there was no luck. There were no sign of the items in Forks, Arizona or in the cottage where she was dropped off. Sebastian thought that if he could find the items that he would somehow be able to track where it come from.
The brunette sighed, "So it's true then. I am adopted?"
"Yes."
"But we still don't know who your biological parents are."
"True, but that is fine," She looked out at the stars that shone brightly into the vast night sky, "Even though I never meet my biological parents I had loving parents who raised me. To me Renee and Charlie are my parents."
"My apologies, my lady, that I couldn't find any information about them."
"It's OK Sebastian. You tried everything you could."
"Permission to speak my lady?"
She gestured for him to continue.
"I find it strange for you to dream about something that is in fact a memory, moreover a memory of you as a baby. Perhaps those adults you had seen with you are your biological parents?"
"Probably, from the way they look at the baby. It's like how parents look at their children, but what has been bugging me is why would I dream of a memory? Who was after them? Who were they? Why now? "
Sebastian was silent, for the second time that night the demon butler didn't have an answer.

She was quiet for what seemed like hours yet was only minutes before she spoke again, "Sebastian, do demons have mates?"
Sebastian kept his face controlled when he looked at his mistress, but he wondered if she had figured out what she was to the young master.
Bella had thought long about her feeling towards a certain dark navy haired demon, listing the good and the bad. Both will still end with her leaving Ciel. I guess this time I would be doing the leaving ...Every part of her, her mind and soul screamed to be with Ciel, to accept what she is feeling, to accept loving someone and being loved again.
Ciel's mothers voice echoed in her mind, "We know the future may seem bleak, but don't fret and don't lose hope. No one really knows what the future holds."
Is it worth loving Ciel despite the fact it won't last? Give love one more chance? Give herself one more chance?
"Yes we do, Miss. Swan," Sebastian said snapping Bella back to the present.
"Then can I ask you a favour? Consider it as part of my wish before I die."
Sebastians maroon eyes softened, he had somehow grown attached to Bella and for each day that passed it only strengthened what he felt for her. She was like a little sister to him, much like how the young master became like a younger brother. Meeting them both made immortality interesting and less boring, not that he would admit it out loud, he had a reputation to uphold after all.
"Anything my lady," He said with a bow.
She ran her fingers through her brown locks and took a deep breath, "Will you find Ciel's mate once I am gone."
"Why is that my lady?"
"Be-Because he will need his mate when I am gone."
Unbeknownst to Bella somewhere in the manor Ciel threw his glass against the wall, shattering it into small pieces. He needed to get out of there before he reduced the house to rubble. With that in mind he threw open the patio doors and dashed out into the night, leaving before Bella could finish her request.
His heart clenched so tight he found it hard to breath. Just the mere thought of anyone that is not Bella as his mate repulsed him. There was no one else, Bella is the only one for him.
It has been days. Days since he had spoken to her, heard her laugh, saw her smile, touched her or embraced her.
"Master..." Sebastian said, ascending from the shadows.
"Leave Sebastian..." Ciel said, never looking at his friend.
"But..."
"Don't. I don't want to hear anything, leave me be and I'll just meet you in the manor...that's an order!" He growled.
"Very well my lord, but remember Ciel, she doesn't know that she is your mate and if my assumptions are right, she would be seeing you in the next few days proving her mind had been made up and she gathered the courage." He approached Ciel and placed his gloved hand on his shoulder. "Calm down Ciel...she will come around and when she does the truth will come out."
"How can you be so sure?"
"Intuition."
Looking back into the mansion he informed Ciel, "Miss Swan is sleeping now so I will be taking my leave to continue my research. I will be back before sunrise."
With a nod the Butler left, leaving the young master to take out his emotions on the surrounding trees.
With a frustrated sigh, Ciel raked his hands through his dark navy locks. The stupid order! He wanted to tell her so bad that she is his mate in person, but the perfect time never arrived. He wanted to tell her face to face, to confess his feelings and fears, but now he couldn't because of the stupid order.
Ciel looked at her window with longing in his eyes. Isabella...
