The Letter

Everyone was gathered that afternoon, even Rin, Sesshomaru and Nira made the journey last minute to see what was happening. Kagome proceeded to read the letter out loud.

It was as follows:

"Dear Kagome,

This will come as a shock to you, but after eight years passing we have finally located Kyoufu Oni's hideout in the South and we now know what he has been planning!

He has created an army of dragon demons by cutting off his own heads and allowing them to grow their own bodies, just like brother and myself. Accept he has somehow found out a way to brain wash our other brothers and sisters into doing his will!

Also the second Kyoufu Oni (the one that grew back its own body) is second in command and has the same mind and personality as Kyoufu Oni! Though he only possesses one head, not three. It would seem that they are like twins. He plans on not only finding your family and killing you all, but also plans on taking Narakus place as the most powerful demon in the land!

But we cannot stop him without the Tetsusaiga for it now contains the powers needed to destroy him!

Most shocking is he somehow has resurrected the very demon that killed our friend Inuyasha! The FireIce demon guards his hideout from any intruders! I was lucky to be able to sneak inside; since I have the same scent and look similar to the others it was impossible to assume that I was an imposter!

I am sorry to ask this, but to defeat Inuyasha we need one of your children to claim the Tetsusaiga and to come with us.

My brother, Shushu and myself will be waiting at the old cottage. Please reply to my letter as soon as you can.

Sincerely, Kaya."

Kagome fell back into her chair. She didn't want her children to go through the demon fighting days she and Inuyasha had endured. But like Kaya had said, nothing can defeat Kyoufu Oni accept the Tetsusaiga and only Amaya could wield it!

"There is no other way." Miroku reflected.

"But she doesn't even know how to use it!" Kagome said.

"I'm sure Kaya has a plan."

Kazuki was getting agitated, not only did Amaya claim Tetsusaiga but now she was about to go on an adventure without him!

Amaya finally spoke; "I don't have to go alone do I?" everyone looked up. "I don't even know the way back to the old cottage!"

"I'll go with you!" Tanaka said. "I'm not going to let my best friend fight a bunch of demons without me!"

"I want to go too!" Sesshomaru flinched in shock when Nira said this. "Father has been teaching me how to fight so I could be of use to you guys!" Sesshomaru's aura became dark.

"You are not going with them!" He said flatly with a cold air about him.

"But-"

"NO!" The room became icy cold when Sesshomaru said this.

After a few minutes of awkward silence Yuko spoke. "Amaya may be pretty strong, but I'm not letting her go without me!" She strode over and stood loyally next to Amaya. Sango looked at her daughter feeling surprised and proud of her daughter's courage.

Kagome was reluctant to let Amaya go on this quest, but she had no choice so she went to write a reply to Kaya. The next morning it was sent.

Amaya and the others packed their things and some food for the trip. Yuko was a strong girl and had been in battles with beasts before, so Sango knew that she would be alright.

Tanaka told his parents what was going on and they knew that even if they wanted to stop him they couldn't. He was a stubborn person especially when it came to Amaya.

Outside the house they had a carriage ready to take them back to the old cottage.

As Amaya walked out the door she noticed Kazuki sitting all alone. "Aren't you coming?" She said surprised. She expected Kazuki would automatically tag along.

He didn't reply at first, he was sulking, but when Amaya repeated the question he said. "Oh, nah GO on your adventure without me! I'll be fine!"

Amaya didn't know how to respond to this so after standing in the hallway for a moment she hesitantly turned away and walked out the door.

"Where's Kazuki?" Tanaka asked her. He had also expected that Kazuki wouldn't miss out on a demon fighting opportunity.

"He's staying behind." Was all Amaya said in reply and it was obvious to Tanaka that she was very upset that Kazuki had decided to stay. The driver of the carriage was a worker at their house hold and once he noticed his passengers comfortably seated they began their journey.

Just when they reached outside the village someone suddenly swung themselves from a tree and into the carriage.

"Hey guys!" Nira said cheerfully.

"Wait!" Tanaka began, "Didn't your dad say you couldn't come?"

"Yeah I know... I snuck out and followed you." She paused as she went to grab something. "I also took this when father wasn't looking!" It was the Tenseiga.

"You do know that the Tenseiga can only bring back people from the dead? It can't actually kill." Amaya pointed out.

"WAIT WHAT!" She exclaimed. "No wonder father never used it! I thought he didn't use it against me because I wasn't strong enough. So... I stole it for nothing... "

The other three laughed.

"What's the sword you have there?" Yuko said pointing to Niras waist.

"Oh this! This is Kuraidesu Tsuki. It means Dark Moon." She unsheathed her sword and it was long, thin and pitch-black like the night with a white streak going up the blade and with a pure white handle.

The other three admired the sword for a few moments before Nira continued.

"I've been training for about four years now with my father... He's not going to be happy once he notices I'm gone."

The others looked a bit worried at first imagining what Sesshomarus fury would look like, but after a while they all relaxed and started talking more happily together.

It took a few hours but they finally arrived at the old cottage. Amaya took a deep breath before opening the carriage door and gazed upon, for the first time in eight years, her childhood home.
