Hey guys! So, i wanna apologize real quick. I realize I'm kinda dragging this ending out. There's something in me that doesn't want this to end. But I know it needs to end, so I'll try to do better at not milking it out. Like when it took three chapters for them to jump into a hole? Yeah. My poll is still up! Keep voting please. That way when i (finally) finish this, I can start my next story with a one/two day interval! So, enough blubbering. I own nothin, but please enjoy this lengthy story. :)
Percy's POV (just recap)
Everyone nodded. "Got it chief!" I rolled my eyes at the chief mention, but that also made me remember to visit Blackjack. Oh geez I miss him. I wonder who has been giving him donuts while I was gone.
"Alright! Let's do this! Guys, hide! Olympians and Hecate, your time to shine." They walked in, one after another after another after another. Twenty seconds passed. I opened the doors, and i walked by myself. No going back. This is it.
Thalia's POV
Percy was gone for over an hour. He told us he was going to make his wish, but that was a long time ago. The entire time I've been sitting on the ground in front of Hestia's throne with Nico and Annie. Why Hestia's throne? Because she's the nicest. No offense to any other Olympians, they're just mean. Or arrogant. Or bullies.
Or or they're too obsessed with my love life and my looks. Cough cough Aphrodite cough.
I had just told Annabeth and Nico that I was really worried for Percy when the doors opened up. Perking up, I straightened up to look for Percy. I hope he was okay. He looked kind of... Odd when he left the throne room. I also hope that they didn't deny his wish. That'd crush him.
First, Hera walked in. Her gaze was cold and stony, fixed on her throne. No movement of her lips and facial expression gave away her emotions. That just served to frustrate me.
Next was Poseidon. His face was frozen in an impassive stare, gaze locked on his throne. My frustration grew.
Then Hades walked in. He simply looked bored, which was his usual expression. I frustrated me though, because his lips didn't even twitch.
Finally, Hecate sauntered into the throne room. Her expression was neutral, which was odd. You know, considering we were talking about her son being an evil villain. Not even a frown. My suspicions (and frustrations) grew larger and larger. Anxiously, I waited to see Percy walk in.
As soon as Hecate sat down, the throne room doors closed. Percy was not visible. And I'm pretty sure that his wish wasn't to become the invisible man.
I stood up, despite my friends trying to pull me down. "What the heck?" I exclaimed. "Where's Percy?"
Poseidon looked away from me, avoiding eye contact. Hera spoke up. "He will be in shortly." Sadly, her voice did not betray her inner feelings. What was Percy's wish?!
I opened my mouth to yell again, when the doors opened. Full of hope, I looked towards them.
In walked Percy, his expression not unlike that of the immortals. A pair of sunglasses was covering his eyes and a fedora adorned his head.
"Your wish was to look cool?!" I asked incredulously. He didn't answer. Instead, he turned towards the doors as someone else walked in.
This boy's expression was not unlike that of the immortals. A pair of sunglasses covered his eyes, and a fedora adorned his head. His hands were in the pockets of his hoodie, and he avoided looking directly at anyone. I felt him looking at me out of his peripheral vision though. He then went and stood next to Percy. Hands flying up to stifle a gasp, I felt my eyes go wide. They were twins.
In came another boy, a few seconds later. Again, he was dressed exactly like the first two. This boy seemed to dislike the attention, so I tried to advert my eyes. But I still saw him try to hide in the shadows, which almost seemed to welcome him. I looked at Nico as he glanced at me. Shadows welcoming him? This kid couldn't be a child of Hades, could he?
Another guy walked in. He had his hands on his hips, probably trying to show off his obvious muscles. Even I have to admit, they were pretty impressive. And I'm not really into that stuff, or those kinds of guys. This guy wore some shades, and the same black fedora that they all wore. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Aphrodite swoon. I bet he let it rip (if you know what I mean) and she smelt it.
A fifth person entered. His walk was more of a swagger than any of the others' walks, and it showed this this guy liked to be unique. Don't get me wrong, he still wore sunglasses to hide his eyes and a fedora to cover his hair. But instead of black, the fedora was brown. And the sunglasses, instead of having a black tint, had a blue one. Small details, but they had effect. I'm not sure if i was imagining things, but I think he purposefully kept his gaze away from my area. Odd.
Finally, the last one walked in. This one was exactly like the first, who I'm starting to think might not have been Percy. The two boys walked the same way, had the same bone structure and everything. They stood next to each other, and it was practically impossible to tell them apart.
The throne room doors closed. Silence enveloped us all. I noticed that the four immortals that had spoken to Percy were smiling. Poseidon didn't try to hide it, nor did Hecate. Hades wasn't really smiling; it was more like a twitch of his lips. Hera was smiling, but had lifted a hand up to her mouth in a poor attempt to cover it up.
Suddenly, I realized I was still standing up. The only one. So I did the only smart thing to do in that situation to draw as little attention to myself as possible.
"What the heck?! Who are you people?! AND WHERE IS MY COUSIN?!" I screamed, stomping my foot for emphasis. Internally, I sighed relieved. I just avoided a disaster of embarrassment. All thanks to my brilliant plan.
