Hi guys! Wow, my Monday was pretty lousy. Hope yours was better than mine! :) I hope your today was pretty good as well! That'd be great! Anyways, thanks for the review Sophia! I don't know what kind of dance she does. To anyone that reads my ANs, I would like to let you know that my poll is still up. And that if you would like to hear a summary for any of the choices (or even what the choices are) just ask! Some don't have a summary, so I can't give you one. But most do have one! So please vote! I own nothing except my own weird ideas, and while I come up with more, feel free to enjoy this chapter. :)
Thalia's POV
The kid sighed. He was small, and being slouched over like he was didn't help his height. In a small, almost inaudible voice, he spoke. "My name is Somos. I'd prefer if you asked them questions and not me. Thanks." All while speaking, the kid had tried to hide in the shadows which hid everything about him except the outline of his body.
Flustered, the gods said nothing. After a moment, Zeus gestured for the next person. The three remaining brothers had an argument, though it was (sadly) inaudible. Finally, the second brother stepped up.
First, he gently took off his hat. He seems polite, I thought to myself. Gentle, caring maybe. This boy had black hair not unlike Percy's. This couldn't be Percy, could it? My hopes were crushed when he took off his sunglasses. Instead of the evergreen (as they've been now that he's 'changed') or even seagreen (though it was highly unlikely) I saw black or a. Only one of them has black eyes, that I know. Because these must be his alter-egos. Percy must've given them their own bodies.
And unfortunately, Percy's heart was too big, and he gave all of them a body. The puzzle pieces all fit.
To protect everyone, I jumped up (I was already standing) and yelled, "WRATH!"
I think I just confused everyone instead of protecting them. Other than said person, who flinched before me like an ant. But hey, it's the thought that counts!
I didn't stop with just yelling. I stomped forwards, and walked right up to the alter-ego of my best friend. Soon, we were close enough that I could feel his breath against my forehead. He was a bit taller than I. Maybe just by a couple inches.
We stared at each other for a moment that seemed to stretch into an eternity. Everyone's eyes were on us. Wondering what I was about to do, and why I was about to do it. Of course, Artemis knew. And so did Anne. Maybe a couple others, but that doesn't matter.
Not now.
The moment passed after what felt like hours. Wrath hadn't moved. I had clenched, and unclenched my fists over and over again. My nails bit into my flesh, making a small river of blood spill between my fingers, trickling down my hand to the floor. Suddenly, I struck like a cobra snatching its prey.
My right hand shot out and grabbed the collar of his shirt, dragging him even closer to me. Using my powers over the air, I rose up a bit into the air, dragging Wrath with me. He didn't make a sound, didn't sven struggle. That should've told me something was off, but I was too blinded by hatred. I kept making us rise higher and higher.
Finally, I decided we had reached a good point in the air. Not too high, but not so close to the ground that someone would be able to stop me. I leaned in close to Wrath's face, his eyes avoiding mine.
"Look at me," I growled. "I said look at me! Zeus dang it!" Stronger words were used. Use your imagination. Finally, he lifted his eyes to mine. Seeing the black orbs locked onto my blue ones only increased my anger. "You deserve this you little punk." Again, stronger words. Again, use your imagination. I hear that kids have really good ones now-a-days when it comes to strong words.
I was only holding Wrath up with my left hand now, so my right was free. Using my left hand, I threw him straight up into the air. As he came down again, I swung back my right hand, made a fist, and punched him square in the jaw. The force of it made him go flying. He smashed into the wall, sending parts of it loose and falling down upon all sitting below. People yelled and exclaimed, but Wrath made no sound. I was almost disappointed. But, as they say, the night is still young.
I flew down over to where he lay, unmoving. Again, his shirt collar found it way into my hand, and we flew up again. Leaning close, I whispered, "Say something. Make a noise. Beg. Your life would be so much simpler if you beg. I won't torture you if you beg. Do it."
He made no noise. I looked him in the eye, and I saw something in there that I hadn't seen before. Slowly, I flew to the ground and set him on his two feet. Turning my back on him, I marched back to my seat. I ignored the shocked glances from everybody. Even Annabeth and Nico.
Wrath spoke, as if nothing had happened. "My name is Wrath. I have a long backstory. Many of you may have heard of me. Yes, I was a villain. I was a jerk. But I'd like to think that I've changed, that I'm better now. I'll share my story later. Right now, though, I think that you might want to meet my last two brothers. Since they're both chickens, they'll share at the same time. After all, you all do know one of them. So he won't be a problem. But if any of you can decide which Percy Jackson, and which is not, you can pick a brother to spend the day with. Day, not night."
The two brothers that hadn't shared grew pale. They'd have to shate. I bet I can guess which is Percy. He's the first! No wait... He could also be the last... Dang it. Now I know why Wrath set up that challenge.
