Chapter 16

Alice POV

Most parents may say this but it is true when Caroline handed me that little bundle of joy to me I knew right at that moment my life had changed forever.

"Have you decided on a name yet?" Caroline questioned me

"Well" I paused for a minute to think of a response "How about Melody yeah Melody Salvatore" I said to Caroline. Even by just Sying her name it somehow makes it seem much more real to me I mean if you told me about what just happened one year ago I would have laughed or called you crazy but my little Melody is my little miracle. I could gaze for hours at her little face this must be what it feels like to be a mother.

I slowly got up from my bed to face Caroline "Could you hold Melody for me?" I asked her

"Sure Alice no problem" she replied cheerfully. I then handed my little baby girl into Caroline's waiting arms as a turned around to walk to the door Caroline said hurriedly "Wait Alice where are you going?"

"To find my brothers" I answered simply

"Alice…. You need to rest you just gave birth" said Caroline seriously

"They are my family Caroline" I said in a shaky voice. I can't lose them those werewolves are dangerous I thought.

All of a sudden Caroline grabbed my arm tight and said "You are not going Alice Melody needs you….. you are her mother" she pleaded with me

Boy I never noticed how determined she could be before. We both stared at each other for what seemed like ages it felt like time had stopped I didn't want to leave Melody but I have no choice. I heard the door creak open someone else has entered the house. Being curious Caroline and I forgot about our disagreements and went downstairs to investigate.

"Alice" came a voice from aperson I knew all too well Damon

I ran as fast as I could in my condition to meet him. Once I was right next to Damons side I said "Your back" to him. I was in such a weak state that I fell right into his arms.

"Alice… you need to rest for a while" Damon said calmly as he lifted me up into his arms leading me into my room

"But Damon I"I responded to him

"No buts Alice you need to get your strength back first" Damon said firmly

"What do you expect me to do?" I said in an annoyed tone

"Well you could start reading who knows what you might find out about father" said Damon and pointed towards our fathers diaries.

My little Melody chose that moment to let out a little cry looking for attention.

"Do you want to see my daughter?" I questioned Damon as I walked over to Melody's crib

"Sure let's see if she has some of those Salvatore good looks" he said in amusement then followed me over to Melody.

When Damon held Melody in his arms I could see a smile light up his face Melody must have this effect on people.

"She has our hair" Damon commented as he looked over to me

Stefan came in moments after carrying our father's diaries which he sat on the bedside table. "Things have changed so much" Stefan said

"I know in one year my whole life has changed forever" I said to Stefan

"You should rest now Alice" said Stefan as he walked out of the room. I sat myself down onto my bed and sighed boredom the thing I hate the most.

I flipped through my father's diary until a certain entry caught my attention. I feel myself betrayed by none other than my own wife. She seems to be showing the same symptoms as others which could only mean one thing…vampire.

This doesn't make any sense so I flipped through the pages looking for an explanation until I found another more freighting entry.

After the incident in the woods with another vampire I had the perfect opportunity to dispose of my vampire wife myself and a group of men were able to surround her in her weak state. I then locked her inside the family tomb where she will remain for all eternity. This vile creature will never cause danger to anyone anymore.

I dropped the book in shock. I have to tell Stefan and Damon about this.

I only own the fan characters Alice, Melody and Isabelle Salvatore. The werewolves Christian, Elizabeth and the witch Emily. This chapter you finally got to meet the baby Melody Salvatore and also Alice starts to see that her family was always up to something what does this new discovery mean for the Salvatore's you will find out in chapter 17.
