Chapter 22
Alice POV
I felt like my very life force was being drained out of me but it was worth every second I was in agonising pain. Once Emily let go of my hands I fell into the nearest chair out of pure exhaustion.
"She is all yours now" said Emily with a forced smile on her face to mask the tiredness from her face.
"Emily I can't thank you enough for this" I said while holding my little Melody in my arms.
"Well I better get back to my pack" said Christian to the both of us.
"Thankyou Christian for looking after Melody" I said to him in the most sincere voice that I could muster. Giving people my thanks really isn't my forte.
"It's nothing really" said Christian simply and disappeared properly going back to find the rest of his pack.
"Where are you off to then?" I questioned Emily the poor young girl
"I don't know where to start….Elizabeth she kidnapped me from my family fun" Emily said sadly.
"Well then you might as well come with me first then after I can take you back to your family" I said sweetly in an attempt to both help an reassure her
"Thankyou Alice for your help" said Emily shyly. So we then decided to set out for Mystic Falls.
Damon POV
What happened next well….it was nothing short of a blood bath. I sensed it was going to happen so I sent Caroline off to at least find Alice and the baby before things got serious. A small group of werewolves stepped out from the forest.
"What is going on?" my mother questioned my father harshly
"Oh my dearest it is time for my family to finally get what is coming to them" my father said with a smile plastered on his face.
The four men turned into werewolves and charged towards us. The wolves were dragging Stefan down to the ground blood dripping from his body before I could help him out I felt a sharp pain coming from my neck the blood started to gush out of my wound. I tried to muster up the strength to push the wolves but my strength is slowly fading away by the second.
Just as my vision started to darken I heard a voice screaming "My boys my boys!" hysterically as I passed out.
Alice POV
Just when I was approaching the edge of the forest a caught sight of a blond blur which stopped right in front of me.
"Alice" Caroline said quickly
"Alice what is happening" I said to Caroline shock seeping its way into my speech.
"It's your father he is planning something so Damon sent me away to get you before things got too tense" Caroline said to me slowly in a worried tone which increased with each word she said.
"Emily I need you to hold Melody keep her safe while I go and check on my family" I said to Emily and gave Melody to her outstretched arms.
"Good luck Alice" Emily said quietly to Alice and smiled shyly. I stepped closer to the clearing and I could hear the voice of my father and mother.
"How could you!" my mother screamed.
"My family are finally getting what is coming to them" said my father in an amused tone.
I chose that moment to walk into the clearing and I was immediately grief stricken. My brothers or what little was left of them….oh how they must have suffered. All that was left was the two severed heads and limbs scattered across the forest floor. If it wasn't for their heads I properly wouldn't have been able to identify them.
"My daughter has finally arrived" said my father and them he clasped his hands together. I then slowly got up from the forest floor to stare right at him.
"I won't let you do this…not now not ever… You monster" my mother spat at my father. I saw two werewolves emerge from the forest snarling at me this is how it ends I thought.
"Alice go!" my mother shouted as she lounged at my father.
I bared my fangs at them well I might as well go down fighting. The two werewolves were circling around me in an attempt to stop me from leaving the two lounged at me but I narrowly avoided them. My mother somehow managed to obtain a dagger and was now facing off against my father. I ripped off the smaller one of the two's head with ease and was about the kill the other one before it started to whimper and it ran off.
"Stay where you are Alice" my father said calmly while holding a dagger to my mother's chest.
"Alice don't do anything rash" my mother said in a pleading voice.
"Father when will this end" I said in an emotionless tone
"When all of my family is dead" my father shouted and plunged his dagger straight into my mother's heart.
"No!" I screamed and teared my father's head from his body. I ran over and sat by my mother's side.
"Alice….my dear Alice "my mother gasped
"Shh mother save your strength" I said to my mother gently.
"Promise me that you will survive….give your daughter a good life" said my mother in a voice that was barely a whisper as her strength was fading.
"Goodbye mother" I said softly through tears and I placed a kiss on her forehead
"Alice" said Caroline as she placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Caroline I have to bury her" I said while holding my mother in my arms. So this is where I am now in the Salvatore cript placing my brothers and mothers remains into their coffins.
"Alice where will you go now?" Caroline questioned me
"First I will return Emily and then…well I think it is time I take Melody back to Italy Mystic Falls holds too many bad memories" I said slowly and disappeared into the darkness with Emily and Melody.
Caroline I assume went back to Mystic Falls to continue on with the rest of her life I hope I can meet her again sometime in the future. Right now I am in some small village in Italy with Melody in my arms looking at the ocean. I now realise what Elizabeth meant it was either Melody or my family and I will forever live with my decision. I am an immortal so life will always go on for me and Melody I hope that on matter what my future might be it will be brighter than all of the darkness that I have been subjected too
