Chapter 14 POV Wendy
I sat in my class with Professor Shagotte lecturing on the history of the Exceed. Normally, I would be thrilled to be learning all about the Exceed as my best friend is an Exceed. "There is so much going on. Ugh! How can I focus on my work if I am thinking about everything else. Please, please. Please, save these people." I sighed as the bell rang and began to pack my bag to leave. "Wendy, may I talk to you dear?" Professor Shagotte said as she walked over to stand next to me. "Of course, Professor." I said as I looked up. "Wendy, are you alright?" She asked me as she sat on the table in front of me. "In all honesty Professor, I am really distracted by all the deaths." I said as I looked down at my notes before me. "Are you having terrible dreams about the deaths, Wendy? I know that several students here at Fairy Tail U are having bad dreams about the deaths of people here in Magnolia." Professor Shagotte said as she sat at the desk in front of me.
I sighed sadly. "No professor it is not that I am having dreams about the murders. I just have a terribly bad feeling about these murders." I replied softly, trying to hide all of my pent up emotions. "You think that they may come after you or someone that you are close to, Wendy?" Professor Shagotte asked with concern written on her face. "We do not know as much about the murderer as is needed to find the person responsible." I said with a large frown. "Oh Wendy, dear girl. They will find something that will lead them to whomever is doing this to people." Shagotte said full of belief in the people who were investigating the murders.
I nodded with understanding. "You are right, Professor. Somehow, they will find the person responsible for these murders." I replied trying to believe as much as she did. She gave me a reassuring smile and stood up to leave. "I will see you tomorrow, Professor." I said softly as I put my book into my bag. "Try not to worry too much, Wendy. Everything will work out." Professor Shaggotte said with a soft smile. "I will do my best, Professor." I replied as I stood up and slipped my bag onto my shoulder.
I walked out of the classroom to see a dear friend standing there waiting for me. It had been a long time since I had seen him, but his dark purple hair and blue eyes told me all that I needed to know about who it was waiting for me. "Romeo?" I said with some surprise and excitement as I exited the classroom. "Wendy! How's it going?" Romeo replied with that adorable smile of his. "Things are going pretty good. How are things with you? It's been what feels like forever." I replied with a smile that was more flirtatous than I had really planned.
We stood there and talked for what felt like hours and laughed often about some of the things that have happened in our lives. I couldn't help but smile and flirt with him that whole time. "You wanna get some food or just, I don't know...hang out?" I asked a little nervous. "Yea, that would be awesome, Wendy." Romeo beamed back at me. Without even thinking I held out my hand to him. It seemed like moments had passed before he took my hand in his.
The two of us walked hand in hand to my small car in the parking lot, talking the whole time. It felt good to be able to talk to him and hang out with him again. "So, food or hang out? Whic is your preference?" I asked with a smile as we reached my car. "We can order in and watch a few movies or something at your place or mine." He replied happily and faster than I would have thought that he would. "Seems like someone has been thinking about this for a little bit." I thought to myself, which made me smile all the more. "Sounds great, Romeo. My place sound okay to you?" I asked as I fished my keys out of my bag. "Yea, sounds great, Wendy." He grinned flirtatiously. "Do you need a ride?" I asked as I placed my back in the backseat of my car. "Yea, that would be awesome." Romeo replied as he leaned against the hood of my car.
I smiled and opened my car door as he stood there watching me. "Sounds good. You ready then, Romeo?" I asked as I got ready to get into my car. Without reply he walked to the otherside of my car and got in the passanger seat. "Where did you want to order from, Wendy?" He asked as he buckled his seatbelt. "Um, there is a sushi place down the road that delivers we could order from them. I mean, if you like sushi." I said trying to not trip over the words forming. "Sushi sounds great." He replied with a grin.
The two of us road in silence towards my apartment. "I didn't expect to be this nervous. We've known each other for years. Why in the world am I nervous?" I thought as we turned down the street that lead to the entrance of my apartment complex. The apartment complex was small, but rather lovely. There were flowers everywhere and tress as far as the eye could see. "This complex is really nice." Romeo said as he looked around the area. "I thought it was a beautiful place to live." I replied as I parked my car in the parking place that had my apartment number on it.
I smiled as I turned off my car and got out, briefly leaning into the backseat to grab my bag. The two of us walked up the steps to my apartment is yet another silence. "Say something! Ugh! What do I say?" I thought to myself as we reached my apartment door. "Wendy?" He said softly as he wrapped his hand around my wrist. "Yea?" I replied slightly confused as to what was going on. "I-I wanna say that-that you are the most amazing girl in the world." He flushed three shades of red as he stumbled over the words. "Aw, Romeo. I don't know if I would use amazing, but that-" Was all that I was able to get out before he pinned me against the door and kissed me.
It was the first time anyone had kissed me and at first I was in a state of shock. My hands wrapped around his neck of their own accord and it seemed like I had no control over what my body was doing. He broke the kiss with a breathless smile. "Be my girl, Wendy. Please?" Romeo asked as he wrapped his arms around my abdomen. "Yes. I would love to." I replied just as breathless as he was. He grinned at me and before I could he anything he kissed me again. His kiss was tender yet full of passion, gentle yet rough. I felt my face grow hot and my body felt as if I was going up in flames.
