Chapter 19 POV Sherry
I woke up in bed next to my fiance, Ren as the sun came through the curtains. With a stretch and a yawn I sat up. "Good morning, Sherry." Red said as he rolled over and propped himself up on one arm. "Good morning, Ren." I said with a smile before kissing his cheek.
We sat there for a moment in silence before he spoke again. "I heard a bit of interesting news last night on my way home from a job last night, Sherry." Ren said as he got out of bed and began to dress. "Oh? What did you hear, Ren?" I asked as I to climbed out of bed and began to make the bed. "You heard about the guy that caused all those murders showing up at Fairy Tail?" Ren asked as he turned to me while buttoning his shirt. I nodded as I finished the bed. "Well, it just so happens that apparently Levy McGarden looks like the guys dead wife." Ren said as he began to look for something.
With a sigh I walked over to the loveseat near the balcony and picked up his socks. "Really, Ren? Must be hard on him to see someone who looks so much like his dead wife. So sad." I said as I handed him his socks. "Thank you." He began before placing a kiss on my cheek. "It is sad and I cannot imagine having to go through something like that, but that is not all that I heard." I turned back from the dresser and looked at him. "What else did you hear?" I asked as I turned back to my dresser.
"Well, Sherry; as it turns out he asked Master Makarov to let Levy go to the Council with him. Apparently, he told Master Makarov that would go peacefully if Levy would go with him. Which you and I both know that means that Gajeel is going to go with her. I mean, if it was you I would not let you go with a killer alone either." Ren said as he sat on the bed to tie his shoes. "My my. I cannot believe that a killer would ask something like that. I cannot believe she agreed to go with him either." I replied softly as I adjusted my clothes. "Well, if it means that no one else is going to get killed that may be why she agreed to it in the first place." Ren said standing there watching me with his hands in his pockets. I smiled at him happily before walking towards him. "Well, I must agree that would be one way to get me to do what she did too." I said before kissing him. "Come on, I'll make breakfast before we head in for classes."
The two of us walked down the stairs of our home and into the kitchen. The kitchen had white and blue marble flooring with creamy white walls and cherry wood cabinets and furniture. "What class do you have this morning, Sherry?" Ren asked as he leaned against one of the counters. "I have class with Yajima. It is a culinary arts class." I said with a large grin. "He has been helping me learn so many great things to make in our own kitchen." Ren smiled and shook his head. "I am glad that you are enjoying the class. I look forward to all that he can teach you." Ren said as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Who do you have this morning?" I asked as I flipped one of the omelettes. "Goldmine. He teaches a math class." He grumbled unhappily. "You don't like math all that much do you, Ren?" I asked as I finished one of the omelettes.
He sighed and shook his head. "No, I do not particularly like math, but it is a evil that I must deal with." He replied before kissing the top of my head. "There are many of those that we have to deal with sadly." I said handing him the plated omelette. "Thank you, Sherry; dear." Ren said as he walked over to a drawer for a fork and then to the table.
I finished the other omelette and sat across the table from him. "Ren?" I began slightly nervous. "I have been wondering if maybe we could bring the date of the wedding forward. I mean, everything is planned and all. I just have to get people there to get it set up for the big day and send out the invitations." I fidgeted with my fingernails and looked down . "Sherry, do not be nervous with me." He said reaching across the table for my hand. "I-" Was all I could say before he began to speak again. "Sherry, when you are nervous you play with your fingernails. Now, if you want to move the date forward then I see no reason why we couldn't do so." Ren said with a grin before placing a kiss on my hand.
I couldn't help but smile at him. "He is so good to me. This is what love really is." I thought as I gripped his hand. "Did you have a date in mind?" He asked as he released my hand to finish eating. "Yea, I was thinking maybe next week. Friday afternoon. It would be so beautiful." I said happily. "Alright, well that sounds good to me. So, I will be sure to not take a job that day so that we can get married." He smiled just as happily as he took his plate to the sink.
~Next Friday~
I woke that Friday morning with the biggest smile on my face. Unfortunately, we had agreed to leave the house for me to prepare in. "Levy is back in town. Thank goodness! And safe too." I thought as I began to get ready. "Hmm. Everyone should be arriving soon. Well, all the girls should be anyway." I said as I put on some pre-wedding day clothes before I went downstairs to start making some breakfast.
As I finished my breakfast the doorbell rang. "Coming!" I called as I placed my plate in the sink and made my way for the door. With some caution I looked through the peep hole and saw my cousin. "Sherria!" I squealed in delight as I opened the door to see my cousin. "Sherry!" She grinned as she hugged me tightly. "Sherria, come on in and have a seat. You are the first to arrive." I grinned as happily as one could ever imagine.
Sherria and I sat on the sofa and talked for twenty minutes before my doorbell rang again. I walked over and opened the door to find two of my bridesmaids Wendy and Levy. "Wendy, Levy; come on in." I smiled happily as I stepped back to let the two Fairy Tail wizards into my home.
I sat next to Sherria with a smile as Wendy and Levy took a seat on the sofa across from us. "Levy, how was your trip with that murderer? I heard from Ren, who heard word in town that you were escorting him back to the Council." I asked curiously. "Oh...um...It was fine. He was not exactly happy, but who is when they get to the Council and are charged with life in prision." Levy replied as she fidgeted with her hands. "Mm. So true." I began as I knodded my head. "Well, I am just glad that nothing happened to you. I'm sure that you and Gajeel had a nice quiet trip home."
Levy turned two shades of red with my statement about her and Gajeel. "Oh...uh...we took a train back to Magnolia, but it was nice and peaceful." She replied hesitantly. I nodded with a smile. "Just being together is better than physical love." I thought with a smile. I understood exactly what it is like to just be happy to be there with that person you love. "Well-" Was all I was able to get out before the doorbell rang. I stood with a smile. "That should be Jenny now." I grinned as I walked to the door. I opened the door and smiled, happy to see the last bridesmaid arrive. "Jenny, come on in." I said happily.
The two of us walked into the living room with the rest of the girls and sat down. We talked for what seemed to be forever, but only turned out to be an hour. "Well, ladies we only have an hour to get ready before we have to be at the cathedral for the wedding." I said looking at the clock on the wall behind Wendy and Levy. "Sherry, are you going to need help?" Sherria asked as we all stood up to walk upstairs. "No, Sherria. Thank you." I grinned happily.
It took us all of thirty-five minutes to get ready for the limo to arrive. Sherria, Jenny, Levy and Wendy all wore beautiful magenta floor length gowns with a sleeveless sweatheart neckline. I wore a beautiful floor length white gown with off the shoulder sleeves made of lace. The vail hung down to my chest and was made of the same lace as the sleeves on my gown. The five of us got into the white limo right on time and left for the cathedral.
We arrived right on time with only moments to spare before the wedding was ready to begin. The wedding coordinator put us where we needed to be. As I stood behind Wendy I realized that my hands had begun to sweat from being nervous. "Sherry, do not be nervous." Wendy smiled as she turned to face me. "I know that I shouldn't be, but I am a little." I said with a small fown.
The coordinator walked over with the biggest smile ever seen on a woman who planned everyone else's weddings and not her own could manage. "Alright ladies. Here we go." She said with a smile as the best man, Ichiya and the groomsmen took their places next to my bridesmaids. Ichiya held her arm out for Sherria and began their trek down the aisle as the coordinator had instructed. Hibiki walked with Jenny after Sherria and Ichiya were half way down the aisle. Hibiki and Jenny were followed by Lyon and Levy, the last pair to leave me in the back of the cathedral was Wendy and Eve.
"Relax, Sherry. This is the day that you and Ren have been waiting for." The coordinator smiled at me. I took a breath as the music began to play, my cue to start my trek down the aisle. I saw Ren standing at the atler in his black tux and I couldn't help but smile at him as I continued down the aisle.
The priest smiled as I stood next to Ren before him. Ren turned to me with a smile and lifted my veil off my face and let it fall freely down the back of my head. "Dearly beloved we are gathered her today to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony." The priest began loud enough for all to hear. "Ren repeat after me. I, Ren Akatsuki take Sherry Blendy to be my lawfully wedded wife." The priest continued as he looked at my very soon to be husband. He took a small breath and repeated the words of the priest. "To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish from this day forward until death do us part." The priest said looking at Ren again. Ren repeated the words with a smile on his face. "Have you the ring?" The priest asked looking towards Ichiya, who nodded and handed the ring to Ren. With a smile, Ren slide the ring on my finger. "With this ring, I thee wed." He smiled sweetly.
The priest turned to me. "Sherry, repeat after me. I Sherry Blendy, take Ren Akatsuki to be my lawfully wedded husband." The priest said with a smile. I repeated the words with pride. "To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish from this day forward until death do us part." The priest said again. I took a breath and repeated the words. "Have you the ring?" He asked as he turned to Sherria. She nodded and handed me the ring. "With this ring, I thee wed." I said as I slide the ring on his finger. "I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." The priest said happily. Ren kissed me happily just before the organ began to play again. We walked down the aisle as man and wife with the biggest smiles on our faces.
We met all of our friends at the center of town for the reception. I grinned as the night wore on. "Ladies, gather round. It is time to throw the boquet!" I said with a smile. All the girls there that night gathered in front of me. I faced away from them and tossed it. "Oh my!" I heard from behind me and turned to see that Levy had caught my boquet. "Levy, seems like you are gonna be next!" I squealed with delight. Ren grinned as he came and stood beside me. "Gentlemen, the gater toss." He grinned before kissing my cheek. All the guys gathered up, with a few ladies still there, watching. I watched Levy standing next to Gajeel with a nervous look on her face. Ren tossed the garter and I watched Levy nearly faint as it was snatched my Gajeel. Ren turned and nearly died in chuckles to see that one couple had caught both tosses.
The night seemed to go on and on as the party seemed never to end.
