Chapter 19

"You see alone we stand together we fall apart, Yeah I think I'll be alright, I'm working so I won't have to try so hard, Tables they turn sometimes... Oh someday, I ain't wasting no more time."-Someday by the Strokes

"So basically the job description says I'll help Juniper fix the office room, alphabetize her files, give insight to her projects, go with her to places all over Unova and possibly beyond for historical information as well as conferences and research gatherings. She also says in the email that the job might have me do more things as time passes. The pay is enough for me to feed and care for all six of my Pokémon, even though I will likely be given or might capture a few for research, which will not have a fee at the Pokécenter's PC and I will get a discount on my Pokémon Health Insurance plan once my trainer license expires," I tell Cheren, who's sitting on my bed.

"Sounds like a great offer, Bianca. I'm glad you found something you're interested in," he says.

I shift myself in my beanbag chair. "So what about you?"

"Gonna go train in Victory Road in a few days' time. I want to challenge the League soon and since N is nowhere to be found, Alder's still the head of it all, thank goodness." He wipes his head and sighs.

"I hope he'll be okay, wherever he is, the poor guy." White had privately told me about the incident with his bedroom and how it haunted her from the moment she stepped in. She said discovering the truth hurt her so much and had given her a weight she never anticipated. Watching his room was like a point of no return of her. Though I think that was in more ways that one, since it changed her.

"Do you don't think White...has feelings for him, do you?" Cheren asks me.

How oblivious of you, Cheren. "Well, if she's having a mini-breakdown about it, then she's got to feel something for him!" I instantly want to take back my words as "mini" is not the way to describe it. But Cheren doesn't notice. It's been such a long time since we three hung out together. Or at least it feels that way.

"Maybe we should go talk to her," he says.

"Good idea!"

We both get out of my room and head downstairs, where my mom greets him.

Right about the time we knock on her door, she opens it and she's with this strange man with spiky brown hair, a khaki trenchcoat with large black buttons, and a purple-ish brown pinstripe suit with a red tie under it. He's dressed rather uncomfortably for this weather, I should say.

"Greeting young lady and young man who I presume is friends of Miss White." His accept is totally weird and I can't place it. It might be from Kalos because everything seems of about his speech. "My name...ah...Code name is Looker, yes. My code name is Looker. I am a member of the glove-trotting International Police."

"Looker do you mind waiting for me? I'd like to talk to my friends for a quick second?" White says. I'm kind of glad that Cheren isn't correcting his language.

"Yes." Looker doesn't answer her question correctly, yet walks out of earshot at the edge of Nuvema Town.

"I'm sorry to leave again guys, but Looker needs to to go find the six sages and get data for the International Police."

"But I thought they were arrested. Isn't that double jeopardy?" Cheren asks.

White shakes her head. "This is simply for international recordings. Looker's main base of focus is on crime organizations. He started a few years ago with Team Galatic over at Sinnoh. Anyway, it means I've gotta go on a second journey, but I'll be back." White smiles at us and it seems genuine. I feel like I haven't seen that smile since forever. Maybe she can find her own purpose and be happy. Because nothing would make me happier. "He told me N was spotted in Hoenn by a few sources so maybe if we can't find the sages, we'll go look there!" That's why she's got hope.

"I wish you the best. By the way, I was gonna tell you that I think I found my purpose! I'm gonna be Professor Juniper's assistant! I haven't accepted it yet, but I'm probably gonna."

"That's great Bianca!" We hug.

"Well, since you're leaving and Bianca will be busy, I'll have little to do. I'll get so bored!" Cheren says as White and I continue our embrace. White tugs his jacket and pulls him into the hug and Cheren doesn't protest for once. When we finish, White goes back to her spot and readies herself.

"We'll miss you, White!"

"It'll only be for a little while!" she says, turning back. "I'll be back before you know it!" She takes out her Pokéball and a large black...dragon thing comes out, roaring with the intensity of a thousand dragons. It makes me stumble back, falling to the ground.

"Holy mother of Giratina!" I take out my Xtransceiver and take a snapshot of it while I'm still down. This is too insane!

Cheren rolls his eyes and extends a hand in an effort to help me up, getting me up as White gets on her Legendary Dragon of Ideals. Looker hesitantly gets behind her, clearly wondering if this is safe.

"Bye guys!" White says, flying off.

We silently watch Zekrom fly off, blue smoke staying behind in its trail.

"So I think I'm going to go start my itinerary for Victory Road," Cheren says.

I nod. "I'll see you later then." I watch him go into his house as I walk into mine. I head upstairs and take out my laptop.

Hey Professor Juniper. I've read the email and have carefully considered your job offer. I accept the role of being your assistant and I deeply look forward to working with you as a colleague. Count me in!

I hover my mouse over and click send, knowing I'm not looking back. If anything, this purpose will lead me into another greater purpose. My heart beats steadily as the email leaves the screen and says sent.

This may be an end, but it really feels like a beginning and I'm totally excited!
