6TH MOVEMENT:
FRESHMAN'S OUTSTANDING PIANIST
It's been already one week since Tsuna started learning at the most known school for music and arts, Vongola Academy, and he hadn't tried to play his violin yet, not even once, since he needed to overcome his fear of touching his dear instrument and that also included the time for him alone to think, which he obviously doesn't have.
'It's my room right?
Yep.
I even check the room number.
So why,
WHY IS ENMA-KUN IN HERE?'
"Enma-kun, you have your own room you know?" The young violinist sighed as he allowed himself to fall down onto his comfy bed.
"Well, it's boring inside my room, that's why I'm here!" The red haired teen looked in the violinist's direction and grinned while sitting comfortably on a red sofa and holding a cup of tea that he personally prepared.
"You scared of being alone, Enma-kun?" the brunet said with his teasing voice, which he thinks he got from looking at the other teens reaction.
Not looking at him while acting like a tough guy. Check.
Shaky hands. Check.
"W-What are you t-talking about, T-Tsuna-kun?! I-I am not!"
"Stuttering? Check." the young violinist stated, which made the cellist blush in embarrassment.
'I'm right.' the brunet thought as he closed his eyes and remembered how Enma always ended up inside his room.
Flashback
It happened after the first day of class. Tsuna apologized to Enma for refusing his offer to walk around the school premises since he felt exhausted from the stress he felt when he first touched his violin again and well, he didn't want to get lost again.
"Sorry, Enma-kun. Maybe next time?"
"It's fine. Maybe next time." The red haired teen waved his hand and started to walk, leaving the brunet behind.
'Now, where's the non-regular class dorm again?' he thought and started to walk in the opposite direction of the other teen and this time the brunet arrived at the correct destination for the first time in this school without losing his way.
'I deserve an achievement award this time.' he thought as he had a little victory dance inside his head. When Tsuna went inside his room, he quickly jumped onto his bed as he buried his face into the comfortable pillow and felt his consciousness slowly drift away. The next thing he knew, he heard a familiar Cello playing which wake his senses.
'It's dark already?'
He sat up and rubbed his sleepy eyes as his stomach grumbled, protesting since he didn't eat dinner yet. Luckily, every room had a fridge, already stocked with meats and vegetables. One of the reasons why the academy collected higher tuition fee compared to others.
He stood, about to head to the fridge, only to hear the rich and mesmerizing sound of the cello, but this time louder. So, he hurriedly ran towards the room's balcony and looked to where the sound was coming from, only to see a familiar red haired student playing outside.
"ENMA-KUN!?" he accidentally blurted out. The cellist flinched at the sudden burst, looking at Tsuna with surprise all over his face.
That was when the both of them found out that their rooms were beside each other and now, Enma was always visiting him.
End of Flashback
Tsuna looked at the cellist panicking as he scratched his red hair in frustration while the brunet smiled but hurriedly changes his expression as he continuously broke the cellist's manly pride verbally.
The next day…
"Dame Duo!" the instructor yelled, calling the attention of his two always late students. "Late again, I see."
Both of them didn't speak. Instead, they exchanged glances while their classmates were whispering and make fun of the two.
Well, some minor events happened.
Tsuna and Enma woke pretty late as they hurriedly prepared as they opened their doors at the same time, but didn't have the chance to notice that they were already late and since they were designated to a different classroom today, both of them got lost on their way.
The angry instructor took a deep breath and chose to let the go two for now and started his lesson as he thought that he only needed to wait patiently until the end of the month recital since he was so sure that those two would fail miserably and be forced to drop out of school.
'Those two are Dame anyways.'
Or so he thought.
He smirked evilly. Unknown to him, the students in front felt his malicious intent and it made them shiver.
Today's class for non-regular students was a half day since the instructors were going to attend the regular student class' weekly recital, especially to those who played the piano for the instructors to see how well they were doing.
At first, Tsuna didn't want to watch the said recital, but since Enma pulled him and didn't letting go of his right wrists, he had no choice but to watch.
They arrived at the wide concert hall a minute before the presentation started, the black elegant piano was already in place and all that was left was for a pianist to play with it. All of the seats were occupied, mostly filled with regular students in front and some non-regulars at the back.
Since there were no available seats, Tsuna decided to lean on the walls located at the back beside the exit with Enma at the young violinist's left side.
As the lights turned off, a woman also stood beside Tsuna. He recognized her at the welcome ceremony for freshman. However, he didn't see her since the first pianist started to play.
"The piece that they are required to play is Chopin's Tristesse." The woman beside him suddenly spoke the moment that the first pianist hit the first notes as he only managed to nod.
Every pianist that come and went played the same piece. They were good and it was always perfect, no one hit the wrong notes as every time a pianist finished playing, most people would stand up and clap at the performance, though not all were satisfied like Tsuna and Enma.
Even the brunet had the tendency to be scared of music at times, he could still clearly imagine and feel the others' music, like right now, every pianist that walked up the stage were focused only on hitting the right notes and imitating how it should be played, it was like they were robots with no emotions. He sighed and hoped that the recital would end quickly while his red haired friend just stared at the regular student who was currently playing with his bored face. Unknown to them the woman was watching them closely.
The recital continued, until the last pianist came up.
The regular students started to whisper about the last pianist.
"He's the rumoured piano prodigy?"
"Yeah! They say he's on par with the 5 star ranked third year in our division, Hibari Kyoya."
Tsuna remembered him. He was the silver haired teen he saw during the entrance ceremony. And since his curiosity about the teen, he gave his full attention to the teen who is about to play.
And then there was the sound that he wanted to hear.
"He's different." he said out loud, to which Enma and the instructor beside the brunet also agreed.
His playing style was slow, emotional and somehow felt nostalgic, different from the previous performers.
As the soft music notes transcended from a lower into higher pitch, the pace also increased in later parts of the piece.
Chopin's Etude Op. 10.
Trisette
Sadness.
The brunet closed his eyes, but his full attention was still on the pianist as he muttered words that were only heard by the woman beside him.
"Why are you sad, pianist-san?"
The instructor looked at the brunet while his eyes were closed with a sad look encompassed his face. She smiled to herself as she also closed her eyes and felt the emotion in the piece and the pianist's own emotions.
After the performance, Tsuna and Enma for the first time clapped their hands, appreciating the last pianist along with the entire student body who watched his performance and the instructors that sat in the front.
"Saved the best for last, huh?" Enma muttered and stretched his hand before pulling his brown haired friend out of the concert hall, leaving the smiling woman as another instructor approaches her.
"Aria? You look happy. Did you see some interesting students again?" One of her close instructors for regular classes, Gamma, grinned at her.
"Yes. In fact, there were two of them."
'Especially the brunet who stood beside me.' She smiled and then suddenly came up with a plan.
"Neh, Gamma, could you help me with something?"
The next day, for the first time, the popular Dame Duo wasn't late for their first class and luckily, their new instructor hadn't arrived yet.
For some reason, their literature teacher changed, though no one knew why as different rumours were spreading throughout the non-regular class 1B, which Tsuna and Enma belongs.
"Did you hear? Our instructor for today is a part of the Arcobaleno?"
"Those are the seven best music instructors, right?"
"Did our class get acknowledge by one of them?"
"Cool! Then were like regular students already!"
Different whispers and reactions of the students were observed by the red haired teen as he listened intently while the brunet didn't mind it, sitting and leaning at his table, still sleepy.
"Tsuna-kun, what do you think about our new instructor?" Enma whispered at the brunet.
"Hm?" the brunet responded. He was still sleepy, so he didn't mind, though deep inside, he was also curious about the new instructor, especially if he/she's an Arcobaleno. Why would he/she choose to teach them, the non-regular class? While his thoughts wandered, he noticed that the whole class suddenly became silent and saw a blue eyed woman wearing a long sleeved red shirt with a black necktie, black skirt and black high heels enter the room.
"Hello, dear students. I am your new instructor for your literature class. My name is Aria, also known as the Sky of the Arcobaleno." She smiled as she introduced herself.
The Sky Arcobaleno was rumoured to be the most kind and accepting of the group and had a notable gift to feel and understand the emotions of every piece depending on how a certain person plays it. Her specialty was the piano.
The students were looking at their new instructor, feeling lucky that the most kind Arcobaleno would be teaching them.
Tsuna stared at the Sky Arcobaleno since he felt like he encountered the said instructor before, until a memory suddenly flashed in his mind.
This was the woman he saw at the ceremony and was also the one standing beside him yesterday while watching the pianist prodigy.
Aria noticed that the brunet looking at her as she gave him a bright smile, making the brunet to blush in embarrassment while his red haired teen also remembers their instructor.
'She's that woman from yesterday!' he screamed inside his mind.
"For starters, your assignment for next week is to make lyrics about yourself."
"WHAT!" all of the class except Tsuna and Enma shouted at the same time.
"Actually, I only give these kinds of assignments to my regular students, but this time is an exception." she said as she pouted and continued. "Of course, with the collaboration of a certain regular music class, I will select which lyrics they will use for their next recital and those whose lyrics that are selected will have a high grade or I can also recommend them to be transferred as a regular student, depending on the performance." The Sky Arcobaleno winked as she stated the last part for the students, giving them a motivation to write with the best of their abilities. She looked at the two students in the back that were also looking at her with a shocked expression.
She wanted to test the two students that caught her attention.
Those two diamonds in a rough.
