"Cath, get out of the car."
Sara was standing beside the Tahoe, waiting for Catherine to get out. The woman in question was sulking, arms folded across her highly exposed chest. There was only twenty minutes until shift started- in Sara's book they might as well be late.
"No. Bring my spare clothes to me." She replied. "Here, my locker keys. Go get them."
Sara laughed. "What, you're gonna make a heavily pregnant woman go get your clothes? With my swollen ankles?"
"Yes. Now do it. Before I am forced to use my CSI skills to kill you." Catherine smiled.
Sara smirked as a plan began to form in her mind. She held up her arms in defeat. "Fine. You win."
She turned and waddled towards the building, grinning wickedly. Oh, Cath'd get her clothes alright. Just not from Sara- she'd be forced to get them herself. But not before she paid for making Sara late.
Instead of heading to the locker room, she walked straight into the break room. Perfect- everyone except Grissom was there.
"Hey, Nick, you wanna see Cath wearing a cheerleader outfit?" She grinned, struggling not to laugh.
Nick's eyes widened. "Hell yeah!"
Everyone turned to look at her. Mandy, the prints tech, grinned. "Oh, this is something I need to see! Is everyone invited?" She asked.
"Of course. Follow me." Sara winked at the crowd currently gathered around her. "Hey, where are Sofia and Wendy? Come to think of it, can you grab Hodges as well? This way rivals Wendy's slasher film."
Greg dashed towards the trace lab, which he knew was where they'd probably be gathered. Sara and the others waited and listened as Greg panted out, almost in a yell, "Guys, you have to- to come with us. Sara- Sara says that Catherine's- Just follow me!"
Clearly, Sara thought, Greg thinks words won't do this Justice. Boy, is he right! She wondered for a second whether she was taking this too far, but then she realised that Catherine would get her back somehow. She needed to make this worth it.
Once Greg had collected the techs, the all headed towards the parking lot. Sara led the way, laughing almost hysterically. "I might pee myself. This is great." She said to herself.
She shushed everyone as she apprached the glass doors. "Really quiet, guys. She's standing right outside the car. This is awesome!" Sara could barely contain her excitement as they all tiptoed through the cars. They all got just behind the bumper before Catherine noticed them. She jumped about half a mile in the air. Sara laughed.
"Hot." Mandy whispered, seemingly involuntarily. She blushed as everyone turned to look at her. Catherine herself raised an eyebrow. She'd be damned if Sara would win this one.
"Oh, you like this?" She asked, taking her hands away and showing off the outfit. "Hey, how 'bout a twirl?" She offered. Nick's mouth dropped and Mandy nodded, still blushing furiously. Sara looked between them as Catherine spun, revealing the underwear that Sara was regretting picking out. A pair or lacy red boy shorts adorned the ass she loved so much.
"Catherine?" Wendy interrupted. "Sorry to cut your show short but shift just started. If you could pick up my girlfriends eyeballs on your way back in- I'd appreciate that."
Mandy turned to stare at the woman behind her. "Your- your what?"
She seemed to realise what she'd said. As she opened her mouth to retract the statement, Mandy threw her arms around the woman and hugged her.
Instead of a retraction, she said "Well, turns out confessing to a large group of your workmates that you're a lesbian and you're dating one of the team is a hell of a lot easier when you're jealous"
Sara laughed. "Or angry at the woman in question."
As they headed back inside, Sara walked with Mandy and Wendy. "So, you guys are gay? Wow, guess that criminalistics is popular for closeted women!" She laughed at her own joke, joined by both the other women. "We should double date- oh shit." Catherine had come up behind her.
"Uh... Hi, sweetie?" She said, questioningly. The other two women shared a look- they didn't want to get caught in the middle of a Catherine/Sara revenge battle. They picked up their pace.
"Not so fast, Wendy. Stay a little." Catherine growled. Mandy raised an eyebrow. So, she picked Wendy over herself? Well, maybe her and Sara should team up- It might be fun, after all.
"You thought you'd just humiliate me in front of the whole team?"
Sara shrugged weakly. "In for a dime, in for a dollar."
"Oh, Sara, you are going to pay. What do you say, Wendy, Mandy? You guys in?"
"Sure" Wendy shrugged. "Why not?"
"Not me. My allegiance lies somewhere else." Replied Mandy.
"Team Sara?" Sara grinned.
"Of course." Mandy laughed.
The foursome split off from the crowd as they head towards the locker room. They were almost home free when Grissom intercepted them with one eyebrow twitching threateningly.
"Those are not appropriate work clothes, Catherine."
"No, Griss. Sorry. Just heading to the locker room to change" She replied seriously, though the corned of her mouth itched to curl upwards.
"Why are you even wearing... that?" He asked, seeming genuinely curious. "Is it for a case?"
Okay, that was too far She couldn't help the smile hat broke out across her face. Looking at Sara, she was tempted to tell him- but thinking again, she realised he might stop the whole thing. "Just a bit of fun, Griss. I'm really sorry."
"Busted!" Mandy whispered.
Alrighty then guys, what do you think? I feel like it's too ridiculous, but since I spent the better part of an hour trying to figure out the American alternative to "In for a penny, in for a pound" so you get it anyways. I wanted to go for "In for a cent, in for a dime". It is definitely almost time to wrap this story up though- I might do three more chapters.
