Chapter 15: The other leader of the revolution

As Elphaba woke up, the first thing she saw was a piano. Was there a piano in her cell? Was she even still trapped? Or was she really broken free? When she moved, she could still feel the pain in her body. She thought about her daughter, about her son. They were save with Fiyero. Or were they? She started to worry about everything. Where was she? As she tried to get up, she felt the pain stop her.

Once again she let her eyes go through the room, she could see a lot of books she wanted to read. She couldn't reach for them, the pain stopped her. The pictures of her with her mother brough a smile on her face. She needed to be with family. Nessa, but that was not possible. Nessa and her didn't have a good ending and she would never once help her. She hated her and her demon children. She pointed her finger to the book case, but she couldn't even do that.

"Need a book?" A soft voice came, she could see pretty fast that it belonged to her sister Nessarose.

"I don't think my arms will allow the reading of more than one page." Elphaba smiled "But yes please."

"I don't get it." Nessa picked a book from the case and she moved it to Elphaba's hands. "you are nice to me, I didn't disserve that. I was so mean about the children, I was wrong."
"That's nice, Ness." Elphaba smiled "Through all the running, I didn't want to be mad. Life's too short to be mad and I think yelling would be too painful."
"Glinda's sorry." Nessa sat down on the bed. "I think Fiyero's mom was wrong in doing what she did. So Fiyero is the dad right?"

"yes." Elphaba turned away. "I made a lot of mistakes and lost Glinda as a friend."

"you didn't..." Glinda stepped in the room and sat down next to Nessarose, she looked very tired almost like she hadn't slept that well in days. Glinda had a smile on her face as she touched her hand. "you were asleep for a week, you did wake up for short moments. We were so afraid you wouldn't make it."
"I'm sorry, Glinda." Elphaba turned away. "About your brother and about Fiyero..."
"Don't be..." Glinda moved her hand over Elphaba's. "We were never right for each other, I should have noticed the signs not ignored them. I knew Fiyero was in love with you, yet I wanted it to myself."

Elphaba turned to the wall and stared at the pictures. She tried to move back to the past, when she had dreamed about love. This had not been the life she had imagined, she wanted to be a mom. She didn't want it like this, never had she imagined she would run from the law. She never thought the wizard was a bad man either. The door opened up and a flying monkey flew through the door.

"Cherity." Elphaba smiled as the familiar snow monkey came closer. He looked the same thing, the last thing she remembered about that monkey was sending him to the other leader.
"Nessa are you the other leader of the revolution?"

"yes." Nessa nodded her head. Elphaba's smile became even bigger as she knew what her sister had done for the animals in all those years, she took in animals that were in danger and she had defied the Emerald city more than once. She never knew who the other leader of the revolution was, she wasn't the picture of the revolution like she was. Still Elphaba loved her without ever meeting her. Elphaba wanted to hug her sister. Yet something stopped her from doing so. "I wanted to live all by myself, but than animals around me started to suffer, so I took them in. Fastly this turned in to a safe place, so I became the leader."

"Wow." Elphaba replied moving her hand to her sisters cheek. "you are not the person you were in school. I would have forgiven you, even if you had not done all that. You are my sister and I love you. Nothing could ever change that."

'Aah', Fiyero heard a noise in his sleep. He was almost unaware the noises in the house, there were no noises before Ally and now his son Walker was there too. The only thing missing from their lives was Elphaba, his mother was sorry for removing her from their lives and her dead was hard on him. He had not dared to tell his kids, how did you tell such news and the idea about leading the revolution was still very alive in his head, yet when he went to bed, it had gone to sleep.

'Aah,' The noise returned and as he woke up Walker was sitting right next to him. He had a smile on his face and it seemed like his mission to wake him had succeeded. When asked why he did it, he smiled 'Ally asked.' He knew the little girl would ask her little brother.
"Wake?" he touched his nose, almost directly squeezing it. "nose."
His five year old son continued touching his nose and tried to move closer to him. A smile appeared on Fiyero's nose. "So do you like action figures?"
"I like brooms.." Walker said "I like flying around on brooms, mom lets me fly around on brooms. I love to swim, just like Ally. What do you love?"
"I love your mom." Fiyero smiled

"She said you are my dad." Walker smiled "Where is mommy?"

"I don't know kiddo."
"Attack the fort!" Ally's voice was heard as she jumped on the bed throwing her body on Fiyero's. She started poking her fingers to his stomach, it didn't hurt as much, as it seemed to tickle. She continued to move her feet over his back. "Get away from the fort, I will win daddy."
"protect the Fort!" Walker yelled as he pushed Ally of Fiyero. Walker poked Ally as she fell to the floor, Fiyero almost wanted to get worry as he heard Ally's laugh return. She curled under the bed, and it seemed like Walker was almost waiting for an attack. "Enemy coming back!"
"Waaah!"

Ally got up from the floor and she pulled herself back on the bed. The first thing she did was hide herself under the covers. She giggled as she moved closer to Walker and Fiyero. "Enemy coming." Walker replied "protect the fort."
"Protect the fort!" Fiyero yelled as he picked Ally and Walker up, he ran around the room with both of the kids in his arms. Ally was laughing as he started to run faster.
"I'm flying!'" Ally screamed as she was put down on the bed once more again.

"Why don't we play a game?"

"Hide and seek."

Elphaba noticed that days made the pain go away more. She started to move her arms more, she tried to get up. When the time move, she could get up read a book. She could even start to think about getting back to protecting the world. Yet Nessa didn't want her to do. When she was able to move around the house, she couldn't stop thinking about Fiyero and her baby. She wanted to get back to him. Yet her body was not strong enough to travel there, so she just dreamed about getting reunited. She trained her body, she took care of herself, that was the best for her.

"Are you getting better?" Nathaniel stepped inside.

"I'm so sorry." Elphaba stared at him. "Why did you save me? When I.."
"I want true love..." Nathaniel smiled "And I feel that we could have found that, yet we were not meant to be together. You are meant to be with Fiyero. That doesn't make me not love you, I can't change the love I have for you. Maybe it's not the boyfriend love."
" I think I love you too.." Elphaba smiled "in a friend way, you did all of those things for me. I really wanted to be in love with you, it would have been perfect. Yet at the same thing it was not perfect. It never was..."

"I wanted that too..." Nathaniel smiled "I hope you and Fiyero can become happy."

"I hope you can find a love of your own." Elphaba touched his arm. "you deserve it."

"I've never met anyone like you, Elphaba." Nathaniel smiled "I hope I find a woman like you. Anyone who loves me, like you love Fiyero."
"I'm sure you will find someone like that." Elphaba pulled him in her arms. "Anyone would be lucky to have you.."

"Are you serious about taking Elphaba's place in the revolution?" Baxiana turned to Fiyero as he closed the door to the nursery. He turned away from her and sat down. She sat dawn at the other side of the table, crossing her arms over her body. "Elphaba wouldn't want you do that.."
"You are the reason of her dead." Fiyero turned away. "you can't stop me.."

"Fiyero, you have a children." She shook her head. "you can't do that to that, you are responsible for them now. You can't make stupid choices. You can't do like her mother. You are not Elphaba."

"I have to keep her believe alive."

Fiyero turned away from her. He didn't even look at his mother once more, he turned to the refrigerator and pulled a apple from it. He moved the apple to his mouth and tried not to think about anything. Where did he start to become a revolutionary. Maybe he needed to find an animal to save. He couldn't go out at night or did he need to ask his mother to take care of his child? What did he need to do?
"you can't endanger yourself, Fiyero." Baxiana took his hand. "you can not."
"I decide my own fate." Fiyero turned away.

"Elphaba always cared about the animals." Fiyero spoke "I don't want the fight to die with her. That is why I need to do this, the wizards can't do what he's doing."
"you can't keep her alive by doing that." Baxiana spoke. She stood up, for just a moment she turned to him. "let it go. You're a father now."
