DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN POKEMON

Dawn's eyes widened, and she stiffened. She dropped in paper in shock, staring into space for a few moments. Slowly, she regained her composure and picked up the sheet of paper. She took a deep breath, and continued reading.

Now, before you burn this letter, not all assassins are bad.

Dawn furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. She thought assassins are people who kill people. for money or other reasons.

There are assassins who use their skills to kill innocent targets, and there are assassins who use their skills for good by protecting these targets.

We are the second kind, the ones who protect and fight against illegal agencies.

We would like for you to join us.

-T.C.

Dawn being in utter shock was an understatement. She had never thought about joining an assassin agency. She's been fighting them for half her life, but joining them? She wasn't so sure.

Dozens of thoughts appeared in her head. How did they know I've had encounters with assassins? How did they even know me? Who were they? T.C.? Why did that look so familiar? What should I do? Should I call them?

Dawn snapped out of thought when she heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Drew. Dawn had completely forgotten, and there was no way she would let Drew know about this. He already knew too much.

"I'm sorry, sir," the man said weakly.

A firm gaze landed upon him, making him shake in fear.

"You failed. It was such a simple task, and yet you failed. You're useless," the other man spat.

"I'm sorry," the man repeated, voice quivering.

"Oh, you will be sorry," the other said, smirking sadistically.

A loud howl of pain was heard, and a delicate scarlet colour was seen.

"You have failed me."

"Hey, Dawn," he greeted. Dawn spun around to face him, and quickly hid the note behind her back.

"Ah. Hi, Drew!" Dawn said, as cheerfully as she could. Perhaps, even over-cheerful.

He narrowed his eyes at her suspiciously. Soon, his eyes traveled to her hands, which were obviously hiding something behind her back.

"Dawn, what are you hiding behind your back?" he asked slowly, taking a step closer.

Dawn took a small step back. "Nothing!" she exclaimed.

"Dawn, I know you're hiding something," he said in a knowing tone.

"No, I'm not!" Dawn denied quickly. She rushed up to her room, leaving Drew wondering what in the world was going on.

Dawn plopped onto the bed, disappointed that she was so careless. She couldn't have let Drew find out. He already knew too much.

As for 'T.C.', it seemed very familiar to her. She's definitely seen it somewhere before, in the same font. As for the note, Dawn felt to safest idea was to burn it. Cover all your tracks, right?

Dawn hit herself in the face with a pillow as she noticed she was starting to sound like an assassin.

She took a deep breath, reaching out for her mobile phone. Her hand was trembling. Gripping the phone really tightly, she dialled the number. Taking in another deep breath, she debated whether or not to press the call button.

She heard a beeping noise. Looking down, she notice she had accidentally called. Inwardly panicking, she waited.

"Dawn, I've been waiting for your call," a masculine voice through the phone said. Dawn dropped the phone in shock and blinked; the voice was oddly familiar.

"Hello?" he asked. Dawn quickly picked up the phone, but didn't know what to say.

"Why?" she blurted out stupidly. She heard a chuckle on the other side of the line. Dawn definitely knew this person, but she still didn't know who it was.

"Why what?" Why is quite a broad question. Very vague," he commented.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Dawn asked, trying to keep the panic out of her voice.

"More answers will be revealed soon enough. Come by this address tomorrow. [house number] [street name], [suburb]."

Soon, Dawn heard a beeping noise. The other person had cut the phone.

Dawn sighed. So all she needed to do was go to the address the next day. Dawn's eyes widened at the thought, she never said she was going to go, why would she think it?

This assassin agency, they could kill her for all she knew. But the voice, who was it? A knock of the door interrupted her thoughts. Sarah appeared. "It's time for dinner."

"Okay!" Dawn said in response, before Sarah headed back down to the kitchen.

Dawn stashed the letter inside her English book, believing that no one would look there. She rushed downstairs, and consumed her food in silence.

She felt Drew's eyes on her, but she tried to ignore him and focus on the meal in front of her. She desperately hoped he wouldn't make conversation with her.

"Dawn," he started. Well, there goes that idea. "What was that earlier? he asked. Luckily, Sarah and William were too engaged in their own conversation to notice theirs.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Dawn said, not looking up from her food.

"I'm talking about the thing you were hiding behind your back," he explained patiently.

Dawn started another argument in her head, trying to figure out whether lying was a good idea. She decided lying was the best idea in this case. She was glad she always had an interest in drama, and took classes too. She inwardly facepalmed, feeling stupid for not acting earlier about the assassins.

Glancing up at Drew, she spoke, "Oh, that. It was just an invitation May sent me."

"Then why didn't you want to show me?" he questioned.

"Because you'd probably want to tag along, wouldn't you. You lurve her!" Dawn replied, smirking a little at the last part.

"Aw, my little Drew has a crush!" Sarah cooed.

Drew blushed. "Mum, no! I don't."

Sarah giggled. "Whatever you say!"

Drew rolled his eyes. "So, when is it?"

"When's what?" Dawn asked, pretending to be confused.

"When are you going to May's?" He was starting to get impatient.

"Oh, that. I'm going tomorrow," Dawn said.

She inwardly smiled at the perfect excuse for tomorrow. She frowned, who said she was going? This was starting to really annoy her. After dinner, she went back up to her room to get a good night's rest.

The sound of typing on a keyboard was heard.

"Excuse me," a female said, walking into the room.

"Any news?" the commander spoke.

The female shook her head. "No, sir. Did she contact you?"

The commander gave a nod. "She did. I asked her to come by tomorrow. Please report to me if she does."

"Of course," the female said.

"So, what did you come here for."

The female walked over, whispering something in his ear.

"We must not let them get their hands on it," the commander growled. "Thank you for informing me."

The female nodded in agreement, before taking her leave.

~The next morning~

Dawn felt something cold against her was; it was her pendant. She noticed an engraving on it, though it was hard to tell what it was. It looked like two letter. Dawn rubbed her eyes and looked again. She froze. The letters; they were T.C.
