Dawn instantly made up her mind, she was definitely going to the organisation. She needed answers, to everything.
Hold up! Assassin organisation, mum, necklace, what?! How? What? Why? Agh. Another dozen of thoughts appeared in her head again.
At this point in time, Dawn was in a very bad mood to say the least. She walked down the stairs, ate breakfast and was off to school with Drew.
She headed straight for her locker, before she got caught in a crowd of fangirls. Not watching where she was going, she bumped into someone. It was similar to the situation with Gary on her first day of school.
Dawn dusted herself off, about to mumble an apology until she was cut off. "Watch where you're going," the person growled. Dawn looked up, seeing a scowling Paul.
"What do you mean watch where I'm going?! It's you who should be watching where you're going! What is wrong with you? Why are you always so cold and mean? Seriously, you're so-" Dawn paused. "Are you even listening to me?!"
"Troublesome girl," he muttered, before walking away.
"Who are you call troublesome, you jerk. It's Dawn! D-A-W-N, Dawn!" she yelled at him and stomped off.
She was in a worse mood than before.
"Can I take a picture of you to show Santa what I want for Christmas?" Gary flirted, once again.
Leaf sighed, shaking her head in annoyance.
Gary desperately wanted Leaf's attention, but he wasn't getting any. "Are you from Tennessee? Because you're the only ten I see."
Still not gaining Leaf's attention, he moved closer and tried again. "If I could re-arrange the alphabet, I'd put U and I together."
Leaf slammed her head against her desk. "Gary, these are getting really old. You've used both of these at least five times."
Gary scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. "Oh," was all that came out of his mouth.
"Yeah, so can you please leave me in some peace and quiet?" Leaf asked.
The two were engulfed in silence, much to Leaf's pleasure. Gary just looked around awkwardly, obviously not used to it.
Dawn went to homeroom, finding Gary and Leaf sitting together. it was surprisingly quiet, none of the usual flirting and yelling. She walked to an empty desk and sat down. She was soon joined by Drew.
"Hey," she greeted.
"Hey," he replied. "You're going to May's place today, right?"
Dawn's eyes widened, she had completely forgotten about getting May to cover for her. "Yeah, I am!"
"Ew. What's Drew doing sitting next to her?" A girl in their class said.
"Are they, like, together or something?" another girl commented.
"There is, like, no way some as great as Drew would be with someone like her," another sneered.
Dawn rolled her eyes, they obviously didn't seem to know that they were brother and sister.
"Hey, Drew," Dawn said in a low voice, almost a whisper.
"Yeah?" he responded, directing his attention to her.
"Most people here don't know we're actually brother and sister, right?" Dawn asked.
"Hm, no," Drew confirmed. "Why?"
"Just... wondering," Dawn said.
They returned to sitting in silence, and Mrs. Roxanne walked in.
"Find it," a loud voice boomed through the dim room.
"Yes, sir," a man replied, trembling.
"I'll give you three months," he decided.
The man's eyes widened. The short amount of time was completely unreasonable. "But, sir-"
He was cut off, "Is that an objection I hear?" His voice was filled with menace.
The man gulped. "No, sir. Three months it is."
"You better have it by then. You know the consequences if you fail."
"Y-yes, sir." His whole body was shaking violently, and he took his leave.
In English class, Dawn had to sit next to Paul again. Drew was to sit next to May. He had a large smirk on his face, and May was red from embarrassment. Dawn smiled slightly at their typical behaviour. She was almost one hundred percent sure they liked each other.
Dawn opened her English book, and noticed the envelope she stuffed into her book yesterday. She quickly slammed her shut English book in shock, which got her weird looks from Paul.
"What?" she asked coldly.
"Hn," Paul grunted, looking away.
She let out a puff of air before fumbling a bit and stuffing the envelope into her bag. Glancing back at Drew and May, she felt Paul's gaze on her but decided to simply ignore it.
Dawn heard Drew speak, and started inwardly panicking. "So, May, I heard Dawn-"
"Mr. Hayden," the teacher interrupted, letting Dawn breathe out a sigh of relief. "Is there something you would like to share with the class?"
"No, miss," Drew said, giving a flick of the hair.
She eyed him, before moving on to the lesson. "Today we are going to do a partner task. You will work with the person sitting next to you," she announced.
Dawn looked at the worksheet the teacher had given to her. Apparently she had fill in the blanks and Paul had the answers. She looked at Paul, he had no intentions of communicating with her and was writing the answers down himself.
Dawn's eyes skimmed over the paper. Simple enough, she thought the herself. She followed Paul's example, writing down the answers herself. Finishing quickly, she glanced back towards Drew and May.
"What were you trying to say earlier?" May asked.
"So you want to know what I said earlier, huh?" Drew said, smirking.
"W-what? Ugh! Whatever," May said, turning away. They both returned to doing their work, leaving Dawn to hope Drew doesn't remember to ask her this lesson.
The bell rang, signally the end of class. Dawn quickly stood up, and dragged May out into the hallway.
"Hey, Dawn, what's the rush?" May asked.
"May, could you please do me a favour?" Dawn asked, looking around to make sure Drew wasn't nearby.
"Sure, what is it?"
"Well... I have to go somewhere after school today and I told Drew I was going to your house so he wouldn't ask me questions or try to stop me," Dawn explained, speaking super quickly.
May was confused. "Why did you tell Drew?"
Dawn was taken back, sensing a tad of jealousy in May's tone.
"Huh? Oh, it's because-" she paused, then realisation hit her. "May, do you like Drew?"
A deep scarlet dusted her cheeks. "You do!" Dawn exclaimed.
"Keep it down!" she whispered.
"So you do!" Dawn stated cheerfully.
May glared. "I do not!"
"Do too~!"
"Do not! Oh, was that the bell? Better get to class!" May said, hurrying away.
Dawn grabbed her arm. "Stop denying your love, May!" Dawn said, a little too loud.
"Keep it down! And as if! Why would I like that annoying, arrogant, conceited, stuck-up keel?" she ranted.
"Oh come on, May. I'm your friend. I know you like him. It's so obvious," Dawn said.
"I don't," she denied. She got a look from Dawn. "Alright, fine. So what if I do? It's not like he'll ever like me back," she said, suddenly finding great interest in her shoes.
"May, trust me. He does," Dawn replied.
"What about you? she asked.
Dawn was confused for a moment, until she realised what May meant. She burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" May asked, kind of upset.
"May, Dawn said, trying to stifle her laughter, "he's my brother."
"How come you never told me?"
"It never came up."
"Okay, well, I've got to get to class. See you!" She waved, walking away.
"Bye!" Dawn chirped, heading off to her next class.
The school day passed too quickly for Dawn's liking, not giving her enough time to mentally prepare herself for the place she was about to visit.
She headed over to where May was, so it would seem like she was going to May's house. Waving goodbye to Drew, she left as soon as he was out of sight.
Her shoulders were trembling in nervousness, legs barely able to hold her weight. She spotted a receptionist.
"Hello, you must be Dawn," the receptionist greeted. Dawn nodded. "He's been waiting for you. Go up the elevator to the third floor and walk in the first door on the right," she directed.
"Thank you," Dawn said politely, before entering the elevator.
The receptionist picked up the phone and dialled a number. "Sir, she's here."
Dawn took a deep breath, this was it. She was now facing a large brown wooden door. She turned the doorknob slowly, and she saw a figure sitting in front of a large wooden desk that matched the door.
"Do you still remember me, Dawn?" he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Dawn's eyes widened. It was him.
A/N: Ooh, I wonder who it is~! And yay! Contestshipping, kind of. xD
