A/N: Glob, this chapter's so short! And if my memory serves well... the next chapter's even shorter! I tried making it longer by adding a scene of Ash and Misty but... T_T Please forgive me!
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN POKEMON.
"What is it?" Dawn asked curiously.
"Now's not the time to tell you, I'm sorry," Peter ended up saying, much to Dawn's disappointment. "Dawn, I think it's about time you should leave."
"What? But this is when I can finally get answers!" Dawn whined.
"I'm sorry, Dawn. Do you have your phone with you?" he questioned.
Dawn nodded, reaching her hand into her pocket, switching the device on.
2 missed calls.
Drew Hayden.
May Maple.
She glanced at the time, figuring Drew called twenty minutes ago; May called about ten minutes ago.
"Sorry, I've got to go! I'll give you my answer within the next three days," Dawn said quickly, rushing out the door.
She sprinted as fast as she could, spotting May's house. Sighing a breath of relief, a hand reached out to press the doorbell. That was, until a certain person was spotted heading her way. Drew.
Dawn's eyes widened, before she rushed to the side behind a tree next to the house. Drew knocked on the door, and the door was opened.
"May, your boyfriend's here!" The person giggled.
Dawn had to stifle a giggle herself. She saw Drew walk inside, so she hurriedly climbed up the tree. Reaching the open window, she tried to get inside.
She glanced at the distance between her foot and the windowsill, stretching as much as possible to reach it. Voices were heard, coming up the stairs.
"Do you get it?" Misty asked.
Ash looked up, grinning goofily. "Nope!"
Misty groaned, slamming her head against the desk in front of her. "This is impossible," she said, glancing at the raven-headed boy who was currently shoving food into his mouth.
Ash paused, glancing at Misty. Misty looked at him, feeling her cheeks starting to heat up. "What?"
"You have really pretty eyes," Ash said, moving his face closer to look at them.
Misty blushed, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, Ash was groaning in pain.
"Misty, why'd you hit me with your mallet?! I didn't do anything wrong!" Ash complained.
"You were... being you," Misty said, blushing.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Ash grumbled, crunching on more food.
"Where's your room?" Drew asked.
May pointed to the left. "It's that room over there."
Drew raised a brow. "Then why does that door have your name on it?" He pointed to the right.
"Oh, er... silly me!" May said, giving a nervous laugh.
Drew took steps towards the door he pointed to, about to turn the doorknob until May ran in front of him, blocking him from accessing the room.
"What is it now, June? What are you trying to hide?"
"N-nothing!"
"Then why aren't you letting me in?" he asked.
"Oh, yeah! Right! Let's go in." May reluctantly starting turning her doorknob and the door opened.
In her room, Dawn was sitting on her bed while with a magazine in her hands. May sighed in relief, though she was kind of taken back at the same time.
She looked up, smiling. "Hey, Drew, why are you here?"
Drew looked just as confused as May felt. "I called you, but you didn't pick up," Drew explained.
"Oh, batteries died," she said nonchalantly.
"I called May, she said you weren't able to answer the phone?" Drew said in a questioning tone.
Dawn glanced at May. "Bathroom," May mouthed to her.
"I was using the bathroom, I thought May had told you that?" Dawn replied, with a confused expression.
Drew just stood there, shocked. He shook his head. "Well, I guess I'll just get going," he said, looking down at the ground, embarrassed.
Drew walked away, leaving May staring at his retreating figure.
"Wait, Drew!" The words escaped her lips before she could stop them. She quickly clasped her hand over her mouth as soon as she registered what she had just blurted.
Drew stopped dead in his tracks and turned around, a smirk starting to form on his lips.
"Yes, January?" he asked, in an arrogant tone.
May panicked again, looking at Dawn for help. Dawn just smirked at her knowingly, leaving May to glare and roll her eyes at hr.
"Well, June?" Drew persisted.
"N-nothing! Just... go," she muttered. Drew raised a brow, walking out the door."And my name is May!"
She heard a faint chuckle come from him, before she slammed the door shut.
"Wait, Drew!" she mocked, causing May to groan.
Dawn continued mocking her. "I don't want you to leave, because I lurve you sooooo much!"
"I do not sound like that!" May whined, leaving Dawn to giggle and shrug it off. "How did you get in here anyway?"
Dawn pointed behind her.
"Through the window?" May asked, confused.
"Yeah! There was a tree, and your window was open so..." she said, drifting off.
May was gaping. "You climbed the tree?! The giant super tall and hard to climb tree?!"
"It wasn't that hard..." Dawn said, feeling awkward.
"What do you mean it wasn't hard? I've tried climbing that tree so any times, and I've never made it to the top. Well... maybe it's because my dad wouldn't let me."
"Oh," was all that Dawn could say in response.
"Okay, so now that's you're here, what should we do now?" May asked.
"I don't know, what do you have?"
May grinned. "Pokemon?" she suggested.
Dawn squealed. "Yeah!"
They set up the game, taking turns playing. The next two hours were spent just chatting and doing random stuff.
"What's your favourite game?" May asked.
"Pokemon Diamond!" Dawn exclaimed.
"Really? Awesome! My favourite would have to be Pokemon Sapphire," May said.
"Hm... if Pokemon were real and you could have any Pokemon you wanted, what would it be?" Dawn asked.
May thought for a moment. "A Torchic, or maybe a Beautifly! It's so hard to choose. What about you?"
"Mine would be a Piplup, definitely!" Dawn said, grinning.
"Sorry, I have to go now or Drew will get worried," Dawn said, apologetically.
"Okay then! I guess I'll see you at school tomorrow." May walked over to her door, opening it for Dawn. She just grinned, walking over to the window.
"I was thinking it'd be better if I left the same way i came."
May smiled sheepishly. "Right, I knew that."
"Well, bye!" she said, and then literally jumped out of the window. May stared, startled. She quickly ran over to the window, looking down to see Dawn look up and wave at her.
May shut her window, before going to finish her homework.
~The next day~
Dawn wet to school, along with Drew, and was greeted by May, Gary and a girl with blonde hair she didn't recognise.
"Guys, this is Veronica. She my girlfriend," Gary introduced.
Dawn raised a brow. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Leaf rolling her eyes. Dawn glanced at May, wondering what was going on.
A/N: It's so short, I know. T_T
