I finally caught up with the jerk after he slowed down to a walk at the end of the street. He smiled at me, obviously finding my inability to breathe or, run for that matter, amusing. I glared, trying to send a silent 'I hate you' message, which was promptly ineffective because he lifted me bridal style and began walking. I hit him, making him grin.

"PUT ME DOWN!" I yelled, probably waking up the poor innocent people that were planning on sleeping for as long as possible on Wednesday morning.

"Not until you admit that I am the sexist guy that you've ever met." He smirked.

"I AM NOT DOING THAT! We weren't even arguing about that! You ate my ice-cream! You are buying me a new tub after school by the way."

"Only if you admit that I'm the sexist man that you've ever laid eyes on."

"Fine. Only if you admit that I am the sexist person on the planet."

He pouted, "Aww, Luce! That's no fair!"

"Then put me down." He hesitated before he reluctantly set me down. I brushed the imaginary dirt from pants and continued walking with a triumphant grin plastered on my face. We approached the school which was much busier outside than I was used to. I always left late, so by the time I got here everybody was already headed to class. But today, I was 20 minutes early which most people would think was outrageous, but to Fairy Tail students, it was relatively normal. The front lawn was everybody's favorite hangout spot before and after school. Everybody pretty much got along, and besides Lisanna and her little group, there were no bullies.

"YES WE MADE IT BEFORE ICE-IDIOT! See? Here he comes now! See ya later Luce! I'll save ya a seat in homeroom!" And before I could blink, the two block-heads were already fighting. I sighed before I began to search for my friends. It's been awhile since I showed up early, so I don't know where they'd be at. And suddenly, to make this fantastic morning better, Lisanna was all up in my face.

"Who the hell do you think you are?"

"Lucy Heartfilia. Always was and always will be. And you might be?" Lisanna fumed.

"Stop hanging around Natsu."

"What?" She didn't beat around the bush. It's known by everybody that Lisanna has a crush on Natsu. It's just cold-hard fact. It was just that obvious. Before Natsu and I started talking, Lisanna was practically on him like a leach. I've always some what pitied his poor soul.

"Just stay away from him got it? He's the star basketball player? He's captain! You'll just ruin his reputation. He only talks to you for that project, you know that right? After that things over, he'll be back to ignoring you, so why not just leave him alone after class. Like dragging him over to the mall when he went to work on that stupid project," I raised a questioning brow. Was she some sort of stalker? "Evergreen saw it all! She told me how you made him dance and make a fool of himself, you're going to ruin him. You are such a slut, throwing yourself at him (a/n: please don't hate on me for this. Don't worry, I love Lisanna, it's just for the sake of the story! please forgive my poor soul!) like that. It's quite disgusting."

"We are just friends Lisanna. Don't get your panties in a twist. It's obvious that you like him, and despite you being a bitch, I am not. So please stay off of my back about it. And if you really think that Natsu would just drop their friends like you did, you obviously don't know him all that well. Secondly, I don't throw myself at him, he talks to me out of his own free will. Now I've got to go find my friends. See ya." I brushed past her, not even waiting for some sort of come back. I later found Levy and Erza sitting by the tree next to the stairs.

"Hey guys," I said as I approached them. Levy held hand to her heart.

"Is that? No, it can't be!" She proceeded to push her forehead back with the back of hand, all Shakespeare-like. "Lucy Heartfilia sleeps as late as possible on Wednesday mornings! This women must be fake! Is it that I am hallucinating!? Erza, do you see this imposter!?"

I laughed along side Erza and sitting on the ground next to her. Nudging her with my shoulder, I played along. "Yes, it I! The real Lucy Heartfilia!" I laughed and began to explain my sudden appearance. "Natsu showed up at my apartment and insisted on walking me to school. The damn bastard messed up my schedule. I guess it was worth it though. He did make me breakfast." I cursed under my breath. My babbling could be both a blessing and a curse. Both of my best friend wore the same "all knowing" smirk.

I facepalmed, which I've been doing a lot of lately. "Guys, it's not like that! He just shows up in my apartment and insists that he walks with me to school! And today, he felt hungry, so he made himself at home and made eggs for breakfast! Which tasted surprisingly good, by the way. But that's beside the point. My point is is that it's not like that at all!"

"So he's done this before?" Erza asked, suddenly going from teasing best friend to "mother mode". I groaned.

"He showed up yesterday morning, but that's all. Jeez. We're just friends. It seems like everybody today is getting the wrong idea."

Now both Erza and Levy were in "mother mode".

"What do you mean "everybody"?" Levy asked. Better and better, this glorious Wednesday morning is turning out to be.

"Just Lisanna. She told me to stay away or whatever. Nothing really," I said nonchalantly. I turned to look to my right and Natsu and the others were headed this way. It seems they were in some sort of argument.

"Yo Luce! Ice-prick is being an idiot, please tell him that he's wrong."

"Natsu, stop being so childish. I can't tell him that he's wrong unless I know the situation."

Then the pinkette began. "So I was fighting with Popsicle and then Gajeel interrupted us and said," He then lowered his voice in his best Gajeel impression,"'You're both pretty, now shuddup.' And then Loke was all like," He then proceeded in a Loke impression, "'But you're both ugly, compared to my beauty' And then we all got in this big argument and Ice-Prick insists that he's prettier. Please tell him that he is wrong."

The girls and I stared at their serious faces (except Gajeel's because he was just as dumbfounded as us) before burst out laughing. The guys didn't get was so funny though. But I laughed so hard that it felt a six pack forming.

"You guys are so ridiculous, that it is hard to remember that you're usually serious." I said as I wiped the tears of joy from my eyes.

"Buuuut Luuuushhi! That doesn't answer our question! Who is the prettiest!?" Natsu whined. We struggled to hold in their laughter.

"You're all ugly, now stop arguing and get over it." Erza said sternly from behind me. And this is the Erza we know the most. She had it really rough as a child, way worse than me and Levy. Her parents when her village was burned down and was enslaved along with the other survivors. They eventually made an escape when she was about 11, but her best friend, Jellal, went missing. In 8th grade, he transferred to Fairy Tail, but he wasn't the same. Erza still cares for him, but they won't ever be as close as before. They still talk from time to time, but nothing more. She is still sort of adjusting to everything, and still finding herself, although her "modes" as we call them, don't bother us at all. I like being with my unpredictable friends.

The boys all began to sulk (except for Gajeel who snickered). Levy and I giggled too.

"I am your favorite ugly person right Luce?" Natsu asked solemnly. I swallowed the laugh that bubbled in my throat.

"Sure, Natsu. Why not? You can be my favorite ugly person." He instantly perked up.

"YOSH!" He exclaimed all while jumping and pumping his fist in the air. I laughed, as well as the others. Sure, these guys could be handful, but it was definitely worth it. They were kind and funny, and down to Earth people. And I liked how my small world was beginning to open up even in the slightest. And all because of one person and that project that we've barely even started.
