Heya guys. I'm really bad at updating regularly aren't I? Anyway, I wanna thank everybody for, you know, reading and reviewing and all that jazz. I really appreciate everything. Erza will probably be out of character, but I decided that she'll think differently than she acts. I think it seems to fit her more childish side I guess…. maybe? No? Okay? Hahaha enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail nor any of these amazing characters.
[Erza POV:]
As usual, the idiot is making a scene. I considered hitting my new pink-haired friend, but I saw something gleaming in the corner of my eye. Gray had discarded his shirt, exposing a silver cross pendant. It was a light chained necklace with a icy blue gemstone in the middle. It was very eye catching, and I wondered how I hadn't noticed it earlier. He was always stripping, and he didn't seem one to care about fashion, so it must be something he cares deeply about and wears everyday.
"You're necklace is beautiful," I said on a whim. I didn't mean to, it was just one of those on 'it-was-on-my-mind-so-my-mouth-just-said-it' moments. He looked at me, and then down at the necklace.
He held the necklace affectionately, and with loving eyes, he looked at the pendant. "Thanks. Not many people notice it." He let the necklace fall back into place and returned his gaze to me.
"I've never seen anything like it," Which was true. I have a ton of necklaces, all different shapes and colors. I often go window shopping as well, and I haven't seen anything close. Sure they have cross necklaces with a colored gems, but this one had that 'I can't look away' kind of feel to it, ya know? The color of the gem so unique, it just made you want to look at it. So and before I realized what I was doing, I gingerly brushed my fingers over it.
" I don't see why. It's got an unique icy color, and it's so eye catching." I instantly retracted my hand, realizing my embarrassing behavior. Mavis, I'm an idiot. He just sort of stared at me all weird like, a light blush staining his cheeks. Mavis, I'm still an idiot.
"Uh...Gray, your clothes." I stated, hoping he would forget my idiocy. He immediately snapped out of it.
"Ack, you're right. Where the hell is my shirt. Wait, when the hell did I even take it off. Dammit." He mumbled as he began searching high and low for his shirt. I chucked when he came back a few minutes later with an irritated pout. He was mumbling some kind of nonsense as he opened his discarded bookbag. There, folded neatly inside, were about 3 of the same navy blue v-necks. I chuckled some more, in which he glared.
"What? If I didn't bring any spares, I'd be half-naked all day. And if I walked around half-naked, you'd beat my ass, and if I can avoid it, be sure as hell that I would." He gave me that cocky half smirk, that I'm sure my lips reflected.
"Are you ready for our fencing match after school, Fullbuster? The whole school's talking about it y'know." My lips curled into a smile as he got on all fours and began to sulk.
"I'm gonna die."
"You're not gonna die," I stated calmly.
"Does this mean that you'll go easy on me?" He asked, hope gleaming in his dark eyes. I grinned evilly and cracked my knuckles.
"No, you just won't die because I need you alive long enough for you to keep your side of the deal," He shrank as if he were terrified. Then we both looked at each other and began laughing. It was hard to keep a straight face when someone plays along.
"Hey after the match do you wanna head over to Ryker's to celebrate your inevitable victory? Whoever loses pays." He asked after he pulled his t-shirt over his head, covering his necklace and his well defined chest. I was planning on stopping by and buying cheesecake anyway, so why not go with a friend. I had already asked Lucy and Levy but they had plans. I hadn't thought about asking one of the guys. (A/N: I've decided that the cheesecake place is gonna be named Ryker's because why not? I never gave it a name.)
"Sure. I'll see you later Gray. We got to start heading to class." I smiled and waved a quick goodbye as did my best friends. As soon as we were out of earshot, Lucy and Levy-chan both started spazzing out. Going on about this in that.
"EH? Erza-chan!? Did Gray just ask you out?" Levy exclaimed, latching her arm to mine. Lucy smirked next to me.
"I was secretly watching you guys y'know. I seen how you were stroking his bare chest and speaking all softly, all secretively. Then he got all embarrassed. I seen it all Erza." Lucy said as she slipped her arm through mine. Now it was my turn to get embarrassed.
"IT'S NOT LIKE THAT GUYS! WE MADE A BET! A-AND I WAS TOUCHING HIS NECKLACE, AND-NOT HIS CHEST LUCY! AND WE WEREN'T EVEN BEING SECRETIVE AT ALL!" I tripped over my own words. Before they could start teasing, I unlooped there arms from mine and hit them in the back of the head. Hard. Both of their arms flew up to hold their heads.
"EH? WHY'D YOU DO THAT ERZA-CHAN?" Levy said with small tears in her eyes. I made a hmph sound and crossed my arms.
"Because you pissed me off,"
"Erza!" Lucy whined.
"Come on. We've got to get to class. Shouldn't Natsu be waiting for you by now, Lucy?"
"Oh yeah, you're right Erza," ANd with that, Lucy waved goodbye and headed to her locker. Levy followed because her locker is across from Lucy's, but unfortunately, my locker was down the hall. I walked briskly, scolding those who were being troublesome. I am the student council president and all.
"Mornin Prez," Some students greeted. "Shit, it's the President, hurry and hide that dimwit!" Others whispered. I glared, successfully scaring the shit out of them. The hallways were as crowded as usually, and my locker was just a few yards away, but of course they had to show up.
"What's up Erza? Done bothering Gray already?" Lisanna questioned. Bitchy as ever I see.
"Are you not stalking Natsu this morning?" I said continuing to my locker. Lisanna wasn't with her entourage this morning. "Where the hell are you ugly ducklings?"
"Just because you're the President doesn't mean you can do what you like. You aren't popular, so stop talking to the guys. They just have to tolerate you until Lucy and Natsu finish that project. Then they'll toss you away Lisanna." Now that right there, pissed me off.
"Alright Lisanna. If they didn't want to talk to us if they didn't want to. Lucy and Natsu don't have to talk unless they had to work on the project, but they choose to talk outside of that. Natsu's friends don't have to talk to us because we have nothing to do with Lucy's project. We aren't even in the same classes Now if you please, leave me alone."
"Whatever Erza, do what you want. Just remember that I warned you." Then she turned her perfect-self in the other direction and walked away with an exaggerated sway in her hips. I grabbed my math book and closed my locker and prepared for the long day.
Ding dong, dong ding. Finally. Classes are finally over. I've been looking forward to this all week. Students filed out of the classrooms and into the hallway. Everybody was excited and talking as they made their way into the gym where the match will be held.
"ERZA!" I turned around and shoved books into my locker. My group of friends, which has expanded by 4, made their way to my locker. Gray showed up shirtless, Natsu showed in his usual scarf, Loke made his sparkly appearance, and Levy and Lucy strolled up smiling.
"Oh hey." I slammed my locker shut "You ready to lose yet, Fullbuster?" I smirked.
He surprisingly smiled cockily.
"No, but I've prepared myself for the ice cream to come." He shoved a hand into his pocket. He began to stroll off and follow the crowd into the gym with one hand raised lazily. "See you on the mats, Erza." And without looking back, he was out of sight, but definitely not out of mind. I was going to abliterate him.
"Anyway, we came to wish you luck! Beat that bastard into the ground!" Natsu exclaimed. Lucy rolled her eyes, but smiled despite herself. Loke gave a thumbs up, with a flirtatious smile. Gajeel said nothing, and Levy smiled cheerfully. It was felt nice being surrounded by my friends. This is what a family should feel like.
"Thanks guys. Natsu, stop yelling in the building."
"But I'm all fired up! It's not everyday that I get to see that damned Ice-Princess get his ass kicked by someone besides me." He exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and we parted ways. I had to get my fencing sword from the equipment room. Unlike Gray, I am in the fencing club, so I will be using my own sword instead of the schools. They were the same, except mine was newer. We decided not to wear all the fencing gear because Gray didn't have any gear, and the school only provided extra masks (cheap bastards XD). I walked into the gym, fencing sword in hand. I grabbed a mask and walked up to the mats and smirked.
"You better have money to pay for my cheesecake later, Fullbuster." I put on the mask and got into starting position.
"Don't complain when you have to pay for some ice cream, Scarlet." Gray did the same and then the match began. It only lasted 8 minutes, which is kind of impressive. Most of my opponents only last for about 3. I won with a score of 15-5. We removed our masks: I held out my hand for the unison sign (HA! Naruto reference!) which means that we see each other as equals. You hold out two fingers and intertwine them with your opponents two fingers for about 3 seconds. The crowd of students clapped and cheered as they would at any sports event.
I received many nice jobs as well as Gray. I was looking forward to getting free cheesecake all day.
*End of Chapter*
Sorry for any misused words and grammar errors. I think I'm going to write from Gray's POV next chapter. I don't want to just focus on NaLu and I don't know how I'm going to show the other couples, so I'll just change POVs once in a while if that's okay. Please stick around for the next chapter! See ya! ( ^.^)/
