As we snuck into Danae's office, I knew it was risky everything. It's risky to be doing this, risky bringing Scar along, but it's not like I have a choice, I guess.
"What are we looking for?" Scarlett asks
"Anything suspicious." I tell her
"Well that narrows it down." She whispers sarcastically as we sneak into the office
"Where would an evil genius hide any of his evil plans?" I mutter to myself
"A what with whose plans?" Scarlett looks at me like I'm insane
"Nevermind." I shake my head "But like I said, suspicious."
"Okay." She crawls over to his desk and starts digging through it
"You can't just do that!" I quietly his
"I just did." She tosses me a black leather notebook, "suspicious enough?"
As I skim through the notebook, I see it's filled with the information I need "yeah. and it's got like a layer of dust on it so I don't think he's gonna miss it..."
"Um, Robert?" Scarlett asks standing by the door
"Yeah?" I look up
"We're kinda locked in..." She says, looking around
I panic for a second then realize we're in a classroom "and that's why there's a window." I wink as I open the window "I don't think it was meant for teenage getaways, but... I mean, what's the harm?" I smile and we both laugh, climbing through the window, shutting it back up and racing back to Anubis.
When we got back to Anubis, I saw everyone was standing in a circle in the foyer
"What's going on?" I ask
"Well, we just found out that perfect little Scarlett here has been stringing AJ along..." Kayla tells me
"You leave Scarlett out of this!" Lacy demands "I'm the one who told her to do it. This. This is because of you. You and your selfish self wanting of everything. Your the one stringing Robert along because you know it gets to AJ! You like AJ, and you just can't decide who you want so your keeping both wrapped around your finger and it's mental!"
"Maybe it's just because I'm better than you and they just like me... Ever thought of that?" Kayla asks Lacy
You could see the anger in Lacy's eyes grow as she launched at Kayla "you little-!" Lacy yelled as Oliver and Jake pulled both the girls off each other
"STOP!" A very glossy eyed and miserable looking Scarlett yelled "just stop."
As Scarlett ran up the stairs, I looked at Kayla "What is wrong with you?" I looked between Poppy and Lacy "What is wrong with all of you?" I run up the stairs after Scarlett

When I found Scarlett in the corner of the attic, I could tell she was crying, her eyes were all puffy and she was curled up in a ball, so I approached her with caution "hey, Scar, are you okay?"
"Do I look okay?" Scarlett replied harshly, then took a deep breath "I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to.."
"Hey, it's okay." I sit down by her "What happened down there?"
"What happened is the result of 4 months of pure torture." She tells me
"What was wrong? What so awful for you?" I look at her
"YOU, YOU IDIOT!" Scarlett snapped "Kayla doesn't care about you! She never has! And you've been oblivous to the one person who does! Look at me! I'm not even me anymore, and you know why? Because of you!"
"I'm sorry..." I reply
"No, no your not." Scarlett says firmly "now get out!"
I take a moment to look at her, her stormy gray eyes puffy and red and her face flush except for the stains of the tears.
"NOW!" She demands and I slowly turn away.
Downstairs, I could smell dinner, but when I reached the dining room, only AJ was there eating. I considered back away, leaving before AJ noticed me, but it was too late.
"Might as well stay," he said "why let it all waste?"
"How you feeling?" I ask him as I sat down
"How am I feeling?" He looks up at me "I feel like we're a pair of idiots..."
"Because you are." Lacy walks in
"Lacy you've done enough today..." I tell her
"I know. And I haven't even got a 'thank you'" She sighs
"Why would we thank you?" AJ asks
"Kayla was tearing you both apart! I mean, for god sakes! Look at you two, you guys used to be best mates and you've bearly talked in four months!" Lacy points out "she literally has been controlling your life."
"Well, unlike Robert, I don't have someone else. That's it." AJ tells Lacy
"Yeah, and I'm just gonna ram my head into a wall! Honestly! Do you need me to spell it out for you? E." She rolls her eyes "is Kayla so important that the rest of us have come completely irrelevant?"
Lacy shakes her head at us and cursing and mumbling under her breath as she heads put just in time for Jake and Oliver enter and sit down
"Hey..." Oliver says with caution
"Do you guys want me to call up Hollywood and get a Soap Opera contract, or...?" Jake asks
"You know, Mate, that might actually be a good investment at this point..." AJ shakes his head "why. Is life. So. Freakin. Hard..."
"Girls" I reply depressed.
