CHAPTER 15 UP!
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon.
I explained everything to May, starting from the supposed fire which killed my mum to where I was today. I guess I kept on rambling and all the words just flowed out of my mouth. I didn't leave out a single detail. It felt sort of nice to be able to tell someone everything.
When I finished explaining everything, I was out of breath. May looked like she was still trying to process the information through her mind.
"Wow," was all May had said.
"Yeah. That's about it. Also, no matter what circumstance, you must never tell anyone. Okay?" I said seriously, looking her dead in the eye.
"Of course," she responded. Her eyes were completely sincere.
"Promise?" I asked.
"Promise," she smiled. I returned the smile.
"Wait. So you have to train with Paul but he doesn't know it's you?" she asked. I let out an exasperated sigh.
"Yeah! It's horrible! What did I ever do to deserve something like this?!" I exclaimed. May giggled.
"Come on, it can't be-" May was interrupted by my mobile phone ringing.
"Hello?" I spoke into the phone.
"Dawn! Where in the world are you? You said you would be back before noon!" Drew said with concern.
I can't believe I forgot about that. It was already noon when I finished training Piplup, oops.
"Oh, sorry Drew. I forgot about the time. I guess time flies when you're having fun, right?" I said sheepishly.
"So where are you?" Drew asked after calming down.
"I'm at May's house," I simply stated. I heard Drew sigh.
"Do you really expect me to believe you?" His voice sounded so exasperate. I could just imagine his hand running through his hair in stress.
"This time I actually am at May's house!" I exclaim in a fake offended voice. I put my phone on speaker.
"Sure you are." Drew replied, heavy sarcasm evident in his voice.
"She is." May chirped. The other side of the line was silent. I giggled, I bet you he wasn't expecting that.
"Oh, well then," Drew muttered.
"Drew, you've got to stop being so worried!" I giggled into the phone. Soon, all I heard on the other end was beeping.
"Aw, he hung up on me!" I exclaimed. May giggled.
May and I chat for a while longer. Soon, I felt like I should be heading home so I say bye to May and leave.
I was deep in thought about, well pretty much everything. And I bumped right into someone. I looked up and saw it was Paul.
"Troublesome," he muttered under his breath.
"I have a name! We've been through this before!" I yelled at him.
"You're pathetic," he said, and with that, he walked away.
I was just about to yell at him even more but then I realised my pendant had started to glow. Oh my Arceus, it's glowing what should I do? What if it really does have a reflecting power? What would happen now?
I quickly ran to a nearby park so I was facing a tree. I looked down at my pendant to see what it would do.
A beam of light came from my hands and as if by instinct, I put my wrists together and shot out a light beam which hit the tree. I stared down at my hands with wide eyes. It seemed almost like… a Pokemon attack.
What is up with this? I needed fast, before I hurt anyone. But Drew would be even more worried. Oh no, Drew! He is going to kill me when I get home. Well, it is my fault for telling him about the assassin thing. I only told him because I didn't know something like this would happen.
I ran home as fast as I could. Before I could get my keys out and unlock the door, the door swung open. It startled me quite a bit.
"Dawn! Thank Arceus you're okay." Drew said with a sigh of relief.
"Why wouldn't I be okay?" I asked innocently, batting my eyelashes.
Drew gave me a look.
"That's not going to work." He deadpanned. I pouted slightly.
"What was that you were going to tell me earlier?" Drew asked.
"Oh that, it's nothing." I said. He doesn't need to know about the agency since I'll only go before he wakes up.
"Didn't sound like nothing this morning." He raised a brow.
"Oh, well it doesn't matter now." I said. Drew gives me a look telling me to be careful. I smile.
"I'll be heading up to my room now." I said, walking to my room.
Suddenly, a thought struck my head. If I had to train with Paul for two hours, five days a week, I wouldn't have time to train Piplup. I can't believe I didn't realise earlier. Maybe I do need to talk to Drew. Also, I need to take some time training without that prune-head watching.
So Piplup needs about two hours of training, five days a week as well. So with my training, Piplup's training, and the one with Paul… that adds up to six hours a day. Wait, WHAT?! Six hours a day?! That's way too much! But it's necessary. I could try to train from 4-6, but then I'd either have to have May cover up for me or to tell Drew the truth. I can't risk losing May as a friend by relying on her way too much. But telling Drew could also mean he would freak out and possibly tell someone else.
I guess there's always martial arts class where I could train, but I can't actually use all my strength. Maybe I could switch to swimming? That can help my speed, and help my fitness in general.
Why did I ever agree to this? There are so many problems. Maybe I could combine Piplup's training with mine, so it would be four hours a day.
I guess I've figured it out. The problem? It's either rely on May A LOT, or tell Drew the truth. What will I do? I have to decide, FAST.
A/N: Review! ^^
