Damn college, so stressful. Chapter 20 up!

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon.

Leaf's P.O.V:

I've got to admit, Gary's embrace was actually quite enjoyable. I saw a streak of light coming from somewhere. I noticed it was a door opening, and I quickly jumped out of Gary's arms. Gary looked at me, both hurt and confused before noticing the door opening.

"They're awake," a gruff voice spoke.

"What do we do?" another asked.

"We'll take one of them to the boss. He can decide what to do with them."

I trembled, I was scared. What would they do to us? Gary pulled me closer to him, it was comforting.

"Hey you, get up," a grunt said, pointing at me. I refused, there was no way I was going to go with them willingly. I felt Gary's grip tighten.

"I said get up!" The grunt yelled, yanking my arm upwards.

Gary growled, "Don't touch her!" I was actually quite surprised at how protective Gary was.

"Aw, you're protecting your girlfriend, how sweet," the grunt commented with a sickening voice.

This only angered Gary even more, "So what if I am?"

The grunt chuckled sadistically, "Crobat, use Bite on the boy." He threw a sphere that looked a lot like a Pokeball into the air.

"Cro-bat," it chanted. No way, Pokemon weren't real. They were just part of a game.

"Agghhh!" Gary screamed in pain as Crobat's teeth sunk into his arm.

"Gary!" I cried.

The grunt spoke, "If you come with us, we won't hurt your boyfriend."

Oh no, what should I do? I can't just leave Gary like that, but I can't let them hurt him even more. But even if I went with them, it's not guaranteed that they won't hurt Gary when I'm gone. What should I do?

"Leafy, don't go. They'll hurt you." Gary said, concerned.

"But then they'll hurt you!" I argued.

Gary scoffed, "They'll hurt me either way."

"You're smart boy, we could use you on the team," the other grunt commented.

"I don't have time for this. Air cutter!" the first grunt commanded.

"Aggghhhhh!" Gary screamed once more. I couldn't take it.

"No! I'll go with you! Just... don't hurt him," I said, the last part almost a whisper.

"Good girl," The grunt said. He truly disgusted me. I stood up, tears leaving my eyes.

Ash's P.O.V:

I ran to the door as fast as I could and banged on it, "Let us out!"

"Ash, that's not going to work," Misty said, sighing.

"I'm sure someone will hear me soon," I smiled, and continued to bang on the door.

"Idiot," Misty muttered. I felt kind of hurt by her words.

I heard a voice from behind the door, "Torterra, tackle!"

Something big crushed the door and almost hit me. Wait a second, Torterra was a Pokemon. Does that mean Pokemon are real? Awesome!

"Paul?" I heard Drew's voice.

"Hn. Get out of here, I'll go get Gary, Leaf and Dawn," Paul said.

Misty grabbed my hand and we ran out of the room with Drew and May. I smiled goofily, Misty's hand was warm. I looked back but Paul was gone.

"Where do you think you're going?" a gruff voice asked. "Crobat, use Air cutter!"

We all jumped out of the way, but May got hit in the process.

"Ahhhhhh!" she screamed.

Drew's P.O.V:

"May, are you okay?" I asked, running over to her.

May gave me a small smile, "I'm fine. It's just a small cut on my arm." Small cut? It was a huge gash! How dare they hurt May?!

I charged towards the grunt and noticed the uniform. They were part of Team Darkrai. That meant we must be in the Team Darkrai base. First they tried hurting Dawn, then they hurt May! That was unacceptable!

The grunt moved out of the way, "There's no use in trying."

I charged at him again, but ended up getting hit with an Air cutter attack. I gritted my teeth in pain.

"Razor Leaf," a familiar voice commanded. Torterra's attack made the Crobat faint. In the game, grass type attacks were weak against poison and flying types. Paul's Torterra must be really strong, though I didn't expect any less of him.

The grunt released a dozen of Crobat.

"Leave now," Paul said, getting out another Pokeball.

We all ran and when we finally left the base, we were panting.

I suddenly remembered something, "What about Dawn? I can't just leave her in there!"

"Don't worry Drew. Paul will take care of everything," Misty replied. How in the world could she be so calm?

"I can't just sit around while who-knows-what could be happening to her. What if she gets hurt, or worse?" I started panicking, which was very unlike me.

"She'll be fine, you've got to trust Paul," Misty said. I was mad, but not at Misty. I was angry at myself, for being weak and not being able to save my sister when she needed it.

I calmed down, and that was when I realised the gash in my back really stung.

Dawn's P.O.V:

"What do you want with me?" I asked quietly, knowing not to push him.

"Your father," he began and my ears perked up, "he asked me to kill you."

I groaned, I already knew that. After all, he sent all those assassins after me.

"Why?" I asked.

The grunt looked me dead in the eye, "Revenge."

My eyes widened, "What for?!"

"Didn't I tell you to be quiet?" Another slap across the cheek.

He continued, "Your life ends today, so why not give you some answers?" I scowled.

"Your mother left him because he was part of Team Darkrai. He loved her, and he swore revenge for her to suffer as much as he did. That's why he killed your mother, eight years ago."

I gasped, how could this have happened? There was no way, the pieces didn't quite add up.

"He felt your mother hadn't suffered enough, even though she died. He then decided to kill you, I'm surprised your not dead."

My head was spinning, "W-what? But, that can't be right."

The grunt smirked, "But it is."

There was a knock on the door before it opened, I turned my head to see who it would be. There was another grunt at the door, though he looked weaker than the other.

"What?" the first one, the one who caught me, snapped.

"What do I do with her?" the second one asked, gesturing to someone behind him. I tried to see who it was, but I couldn't move.

The first grunt smirked, "I'll deal with her." He dragged someone in and I gasped. Leaf.

Gary's P.O.V:

Leaf was going to get hurt, and it was all my fault. I couldn't protect her, and now she was in danger.

The grunt walked off, shutting the door behind him. Just before the door shut, I put my foot between the door and doorframe. I waited a few seconds until the footsteps faded until I ran out, looking for Leaf.

She had to be here somewhere, I just needed to find her.

"Let her go!" That voice, it was Dawn's. What was she doing here? I followed the direction of her voice and reached a door. I took a deep breath before opening it. The first thing I saw was a grunt grabbing Leaf's arm.

"Leaf!" I yelled, running towards her. Something was released into the air, it was another Crobat. Oh no, I needed to think of a plan. There was no way I can fight a pokemon with my hands, but I've still got to try.

I saw Dawn's eyes widen, but then it looked like she realised something.

I charged at the grunt but was cut of by Dawn's voice, "Piplup, Bubblebeam!" I turned in her direction, only to see a Piplup pop out of a Pokeball. How in the world did she get a Pokemon? What was going on here?

Piplup's attack had knocked out the Crobat and Piplup freed Dawn.

"Those ropes hurt," Dawn commented, rubbing her arms.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusing, "What's going on?"

"I'll explain later, just go. Piplup and I will save Leaf," Dawn said.

"No. I need to help somehow." I couldn't leave everything up to Dawn.

Dawn ignored me, "Piplup, use whirlpool on the grunt."

The tiny Pokemon created a giant whirlpool, and Leaf managed to escape from the grunt. She ran into my arms and Piplup trapped the grunt in his attack.

"Run!" Dawn said. We all ran out the door, and found the exit. We saw Misty, Ash, May and Drew walking away from this place.

Paul's P.O.V:

Where in the world could they be? This base couldn't be that big, could it? I've searched just about every room for them, including Room 24, but there's not even a trace of them.

Could the commander have been wrong? No, that wasn't likely. That meant they must have escaped then. I didn't even know for sure that they're here, commander just mentioned my friends. Those were the people I considered friends.

"Intruder!" a voice yelled from behind me. I must have been caught, I needed to make an escape.
