A/N: I actually forgot where this story takes place... Either Veilstone or LaRousse, probably. I tried looking through earlier chapters, but I didn't find anything. If anybody remembers, please leave a comment!

"Update," a voice bellowed with authority, completely dominating the atmosphere.
An average Team Darkrai grunt stood before the intimidating man, visibly trembling as his gaze was cast upon the floor. "W-We've narrowed it down, Sir. The Diamond Pearl is either in Sunyshore City, Pastoria City, or here... in Veilstone," he said shakily, not daring to look up.
A rough-sounding chuckle left the other man's mouth before he licked his lips with desire swirling in his dark and tainted eyes. "Good... Good..." he said to himself, mentally visualising the power he would receive.
The room went completely silent, thick tension swarming the small, dark room. The grunt was squirming from discomfort. A few moments passed by and commotion was heard outside. His eyes flickered up towards the door.
A low, malicious growl elicited from the bigger man as ran a hand through his scruffy brown hair, stomping right up to the door and slammed it wide open. His fists clenched at the sight; Team Cresselia agents.
"Who the heck are you?" Drew hissed into the phone as soon as he overcame his shock. His grip on the phone tightened, and the others exchanged looks of concern.
The other end of the line went silent, leaving the four friends in torturing suspense. Drew's patience was a thin line about to snap any moment.
"None of your business," said the same gruff voice, with a cold and empty tone.
Drew's mental sanity vanished at that moment and fury overtook him. He growled dangerously. "It obviously is my business if you have my sister's phone. Where is she?" he demanded, physically shaking and trying to resist the temptation of breaking a nearby object.
Then a laugh was heard through the phone, making everyone furrow their eyebrows in confusion. "This isn't funny!" Ash yelled out impulsively, earning a cackle from the mysterious stranger.
"Calm yo titties," the person said facetiously. "She's safe." There was a hesitant pause. "For now." A constant beeping noise rang out, signalling he had cut the call.
Drew clenched his fists. "This isn't good enough!" he shouted out, taking deep breaths to calm himself.
May's soft and sympathetic gaze landed on him. "You heard him. She's safe for now. Dawn can handle herself. Just have a little faith in her," she told him slowly, making sure he heard her words clearly.
He simply inhaled sharply and swirled around to glare at the brunette. "Don't you care about her? She's your friend! She could be dying right this moment and we're just sitting here hoping for the best. That's pathetic!" he yelled half-heartedly, blinded by rage.
"That's harsh..." Ash whispered to Misty with his eyes widened.
Misty meekly nodded her head and watched the couple continuing to argue.
Due to frustration, tears pricked at the corners of May's eyes as she glared back. "I do care about her, but there's nothing we can do! The best thing for us to do is just believe in her, why don't you understand that?" Her voice was raised and laced with desperation, cracking towards the end.
"Because -"
"You can do whatever you want, but I'm not staying here with you," the female said coldly, completely void of emotion. With that, she marched out of the house and slammed the door behind her.
Ash studied Drew's face before carefully saying, "Bro, you messed up..."
"Who the hell do you think you are to be here?" the intimidating man demanded as he walked out into the hallways.
Paul snarled as a toxic attack slashed him right across the shoulder, hissing in pain as blood began to ooze. "Torterra!" he said with a powerful voice as he stared across at the man. "Use -"
"Wait!" a familiar voice yelled from afar, cutting Paul off mid-speech.
Paul swivelled around to locate the voice and he spotted his father running towards him. "What?" he asked with a roll of the eyes. He adjusted his gaze and spotted a woman he recognised. He narrowed his eyes. "Aren't you meant to be dead?" he questioned bluntly.
A grin spread across the woman's face. "Supposed to be, but I'm evidently not," she retorted with a nostalgic glimmer in her cobalt orbs.
Peter smirked a little, paying no mind to the Team Darkrai grunts nearby. "Ah, Paul, it seems you remember Johanna!"
Paul glared at his father. "Well -"
"No time for reunions! Let's get out of here!" he interrupted once more, making Paul growl in annoyance. "Quick, run!"
"Well, well, well, who do we have here?" the other man slurred with amusement, his mouth forming a twisted smirk as he glared down menacingly. He gasped mockingly. "Oh, if it isn't Johanna looking lively as ever!"
Johanna stared in shock for a few moments, before shaking her head furiously as the ire within her rose to the surface. "Daniel," she said with such disgust as if he were the most vile being to ever walk the earth, before continuing with, "where is he?"
Daniel raised an eyebrow and feigned a confused look, despite the amusement dancing in his blue eyes. "Where's who?" he replied innocently before his voice dropped dangerously low.
"You know exactly who I'm talking about! Where's my husband!?" she exclaimed, losing her reserved composure.
Peter and Paul both stood there in silence, feeling Daniel's betrayal etch into their skin before realisation struck. Daniel was Team Darkrai's double-agent.
"How much longer?" Gary asked as he seemed bored and tired of the walking. He heard birds chirping and breezes blowing, but could not hear a response. "Is somebody going to answer me or what?" He raised an eyebrow and the two girls.
"Gary, I know you saved my life and all just then, but would it kill you to shut up?" Leaf said while staring down at the path before them.
Dawn sighed, slightly annoyed at Gary's behaviour. "We're here," she declared, happy that Gary's whining will finally come to an end. She walked over to the door and unlocked it with her key. "Mum and Dad should still be at work for another hour or so," she informed the others as she opened the door and allowed them to walk inside.
Leaf entered first with Gary right behind her, heading straight for the living room where they heard their friends' voices. "Where's May...? Leaf asked hesitantly as she scanned the room and noticed the brunette girl was missing.
She spotted Drew looking down, an expression of conspicuous guilt forming on his face. Dawn came in after them wondering what was going on.
"We..." Drew swallowed a lump in his throat. Seeing him in such a state was incredibly rare, even for Dawn. "We got into a fight..." he muttered almost inaudibly.
"What was that?" Leaf quirked her eyebrow, not quite hearing his quiet words. There was silence.
Drew took a heavy breath and shakily tried to utter out words, but nothing was heard.
Ash cleared his throat awkwardly to capture everybody's attention. "Um, Drew and May got into a fight and May left..." He shifted awkwardly on the couch and looked towards Misty for support.
She offered him a reassuring smile since he did nothing wrong. "I'm sure she's fine since she most likely would've head back home," Misty said in attempts to ease the worrying tension.
Drew's phone went off, startling them all.
"Who is it?" Gary asked, speaking cautiously as he gazed warily at the phone.
Drew picked up his phone and glanced at the words flashing across the screen. "Unknown number," he gritted through his teeth, an unnerving feeling settling in his stomach.
"Put them onto speaker phone!"
Drew did as they said and accepted the call, putting them onto speaker. "Hello?" he asked with his voice strong.
There was more silence, each second passing felt like agony.
"Hello?" Drew repeated, his voice faltering slightly.
An eerily high-pitched tone sang through the phone. "I like aeroplane jelly~!"
"What the..." The group of friends exchanged weird glances, astounded and shocked at the noise coming from the other end.
"Aeroplane jelly for me~!"
"I like it for dinner, I like it for tea~!"
"What the actual-"
"A little each day makes a good recipe~!"
Drew hung up immediately, having enough stress and anxiety today. He threw his phone across the room, glaring at the inanimate object.
"Ugh, what's up with all the weird phone calls today?" grumbled Ash, unhappy with the mind-boggling phone calls.
Misty sighed. "Tell me about it," she muttered to herself as she was also annoyed.
"Daniel, you've been working for Team Darkrai this entire time?" Peter's voice boomed with anger, betrayal lacing his question.
Daniel smirked, his eyes narrowing slightly in entertainment. "Mhm!" he confirmed. "I'm actually shocked you didn't quite notice. The head of Team Cresselia allowed a mere Team Darkrai grunt to work in their agency," he said mockingly. "I'm quite disappointed." A wicked grin spread across his face.
Peter was at a loss of words feeling absolutely foolish from not noticing Daniel's act the entire time. "But how?" he exclaimed in disbelief. "You were always there for me, gathering information on the enemy!"
"Enough of this!" Paul roared, indubitably irritated with the unnecessary chit-chat. "Either we beat the shit out of these people or we get the fuck out of here," Paul cussed, eyes ablaze with violence.
"fine den. fite me 1v1 now." Daniel growled back at him, raising his fists in a offensive stance.
"Stop it. No time for fighting. I need to see him. Where is my husband?" Johanna said calmly, though it was evident she was trying to maintain her self-control.
Paul ignored Johanna's comment, deeming it irrelevant as he was blinded with with temper. He ran straight up towards Daniel and swing his fist across his face.
Blood squirted out of Daniel's nose. He grunts in pain. He swings his fist right back at Paul. It makes a red mark across Paul's tan skin. Paul releases a battle cry and charges, beating him so quickly that he has no time to retaliate. Daniel dropped to the ground, mustering his last bit of energy to kick Paul deeply in the crotch.
"AHHHHHHHHH!" he yelled as pain coursed through his body, hands immediately holding onto his crotch in attempt to contain the pain. It didn't work. His body trembled and he bit his lip harshly.
Johanna cringed at the sight. "Take me to my husband now," she demanded once more, desperate to see the love of her life. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth as she realised Daniel was now unconscious, meaning her reunion with her mysterious husband would be delayed.
A/N: I don't even know anymore. I'm not sure how many of you remember Daniel! He made a brief appearance in one of the earlier chapters at the Team Cresselia base. XD
I was being so facetious and weird and wut and just no and bleh.
Anyway, I somehow coughed up a chapter. I wasn't going to update, but then I saw CraziOtaku200's review and felt guilty since I did say I would update.
Please expect no future updates from me, because I can't say there will be one. I hope you've enjoyed this story so far. I turned this chapter into such a joke. XD
Gosh, it's been a while since I've written.
