Chapter 129
.
On Thursday April 6th Eve was watching a movie on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. It was based on a true story about an explosion in a church. Although choir practice was scheduled for that time noone was there. They all had particular reasons for being late, from car trouble, illness, to just being stuck on a math problem while doing homework. This was a touching film, part of the recent trend of what movies were being played these days. Other, controversial films, were being pushed back. Most people wanted to see corny uplifting films. RJ helped to get hard to find movies for those who wanted them. One, made by TBN, satirized Mason's policies of population control. The plot involved laws that required parents to either murder their children by eighteen, or be murdered themselves by their kids. Another involved an angel sent to earth to kill a teenage girl. She explained to the teen why it was neccessary and the girl accepted her fate. It seemed to be implied that the angel was the girl's mother, as best Eve could tell witht hese artsy films. Having become an amateur film critic working for RJ, Eve didn't particularly care for these movies, she could understand why there wasn't much of a market for them. People wanted to be uplifted during reconstruction. But if Mason was trying to suppress these movies, that was another matter entirely.
