Tristan Honeybee

I sit in my chair on the stage, waiting for the Head Gamemaker to give me my starting cue. It's about time they started; we've tested everything we needed to, and the tributes are ready to go, standing in the hallway to the right of the stage. At last, I hear Adameus Fletcher's voice in my tiny earpiece. "We're on in thirty seconds." I flatten my gold, sequined suit, fix my hair for the final time, and put on one of my world famous smiles. "Five. Four. Three. Two. One. You're live."

"Welcome, citizens of Panem!" I shout. "I am Tristan Honeybee, your host, and I'd like to welcome you to the interviews of the 126th Hunger Games!" I pause while the crowd cheers obnoxiously. "Tonight, you will get to know all of your favorite tributes! And trust me, we have an awesome bunch this year. So, let's get straight to it! Starting off the show, let's welcome the lovely Alexandrite Dazzle of District One!"

The crowd cheers as Alexandrite struts onto the stage. She's wearing a tight silver dress, which flares out into a black skirt at the waist. She's wearing bright pink pumps, which she wore during her reaping. The necklace she wore at the reapings has been transformed into a dazzling headband.

I start off the interview by talking about her dress, and how she's wearing many of the same accessories from her reaping. She says that her stylist loved her sense of fashion so much that she allowed her to wear her shoes and necklace-headband at her interview. As her interview goes on, I discover that this girl is pretty ditzy. She laughs way too much, talks a lot about herself, is very mysterious with her plans, and doesn't seem to have a fully functioning brain. When we begin to talk about the arena, she laughs it off, saying how excited she is to be with her group of careers. I don't think she'll make it very far. Despite that, the crowd loves her; obviously just because of her looks. At last, the buzzer to the left of the stage rings, signaling the end of Alexandrite's interview. Once she has left, I introduce our next tribute; Glint Sulf of District One.

Glint walks onto the stage in a striking, gem-encrusted suit. Before he even speaks, I know he's going to have plenty of sponsors- and capitol admirers. Glint talks a lot about his plans to demolish all of the other tributes. He doesn't seem to care that he's offending every other tribute, including his allies. It's hard to make it seem like I'm interested in everything he has to say. At last, the buzzer rings, and I send Glint away quickly.

Next, I welcome in District Two's Jessie Hart. Jessie walks onstage in a green dress and black heels. The dress is a dark, evergreen color at the bottom, but it fades to a softer green near the top. Her black hair is curled perfectly. Jessie has been one of the pre-interview Capitol favorites this year, and I can understand why. She's only fourteen, not a volunteer, and received a score of eleven. As she sits down, I realize that the pressure is really on me. I need to give this girl a good interview.

I start off by asking about her home life. Surprisingly, she doesn't seem to want to talk about it. She mentions something about a loving mom and dad, but that's all. Once the topic moves to the Capitol, her face lights up and she talks all about her favorite parts of the Capitol. When I ask her about her training score, like every other tribute who gets a high score, she says we'll find out what she can do in the arena.

Too soon, the buzzer rings and Jessie must go. I can tell the Capitol's really sad that her interview's over. However, they've got another career coming up, so they don't stay upset for long. I introduce Mason Riley, and sure enough, the crowd bursts into applause.

Mason walks onstage in an immaculate, white suit. It's contrasts nicely with his dark hair. I have to say, this kid really does scare me. He's seven and a half feet tall; a legally classified giant! As we begin to talk, he scares me even more with his deadly confident personality. He talks about his life back home, saying that most people were afraid of him and wouldn't talk to him because of his height. Well, those people have good reason to be scared of him. When I ask him about his training score of ten, like Jessie, he won't reveal anything. "Those tributes will know what I did during my training session after I kill them," he says.

The buzzer rings, and I wish Mason good luck and send him away. I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad that his interview is over. The crowd loved him, but sitting next to him, I felt pretty intimidated. All I can say is that my money's on District Two this year. Although, I remind myself that there's still plenty of tributes to interview, so I think I'll hold off on the betting until the interviews are over.

I've got the first non-career up next: Miss Jennette Parke. The brown-haired, tiny, twelve-year-old girl walks onto the stage. She's wearing a simple, white, lace dress. She looks so innocent. As I begin to interview her, I discover she's really shy. I expected that much. I get her to open up a little bit about her family, but that's about all. I feel bad for the poor girl. She won't make it past day one in the arena. Her buzzer rings, and she slowly walks offstage. I can tell the crowd feels sorry that this girl will die so young. They'll perk up once they hear from some more tributes, though.

Next up is District Three's Jarvis Scholl. Jarvis is the complete opposite of Jennette; instead of being young and weak, he's older and much more muscular- at least in District Three terms. He's wearing a plain, midnight-blue suit. During his interview, Jarvis talks a lot about his five younger brothers. He seems to love them a lot. Jarvis may actually have some sponsors, owing to his size and the fact that he has five younger brothers waiting for him to come home.

Once Jarvis leaves, I welcome Marina Ebony to the stage. She's dressed in a sparkly pink and blue and dress. Her brown hair is held back by a clip that matches her dress. She'll get a lot of sponsors for her looks. If I'm assuming correctly, she's also allied with the careers, so she'll get sponsors for that. Once I've started interviewing, I ask her about her reaping. She wasn't a volunteer, which has left some Capitol citizens curious. Marina says that she actually planned to be the District Four female volunteer this year, but by some coincidence, was actually reaped. Marina makes it clear that she shouldn't be underestimated even though she wasn't a volunteer.

After Marina's interview ends, her district partner, Sheldon, walks onstage for his interview. He's dressed in a white and green suit. I begin to ask him some questions. I find out, contrary to my previous beliefs, that he isn't really a typical career. Instead of training publicly at an academy or training center, he was trained privately, by his dad. However, he does seem to have the personality of the average career. This boy will certainly have sponsors.

Up next is Tadalynn Shipka. She's dressed in a white tube top over a long black dress. The tube top is dressed in what seems to be hand-drawn stars. Tadalynn is a very interesting character. Her face holds the same cold, stoic expression throughout the entire interview. She doesn't talk about her life back home. Instead, she talks about her plans for the arena. She claims to have some huge plan to destroy all of the other tributes. She won't give any hints about it; she just tells all of the other tributes to watch out. I have to say, both District Five tributes were very interesting tribute. They'll both have sponsors.

Next, I welcome in District Five's Eridan Keating. His outfit is pretty interesting. He's wearing a black leather jacket and trousers. There's a white t-shirt under his jacket, and a black fedora on his head. During his interview, I discover that Eridan is basically the complete opposite of Tadalynn. I find out he's a musician who is very passionate about his music and the people he plays music with. He's a very optimistic person. The only time his expression turns slightly melancholy is when he talks about his girlfriend, Orisha. I can tell he really wants to get back to her. I have to say, both District Five tributes were very interesting tribute. They'll each have sponsors.

Nylah Tracks of District Six walks onto the stage next. Nylah is wearing a short, pretty, coral-colored dress. I discover that Nylah is a very bright girl. She talks a lot about the different strategies many tributes take, and what their pros and cons are. She says she's going to use her brains to try to win. This surprises me because she's one of the few tributes from the non-career districts that is even remotely muscular. Maybe she's hiding something.

Peyton Stanley's interview is up next. This has been one of the most highly-anticipated interviews of the night, owing to the fact that his sister, Kat Stanley, was in the Hunger Games last year. I remember Kat; she was very nice, and even made it to the final seven before a career caught and killed her. Peyton looks just like her. Tonight, he's dressed in a black suit and a white bow tie. It makes him look very cute innocent. Already, the crowd loves him.

I get straight to the juicy stuff at the beginning of his interview, and ask about Kat. He says he misses her very much and wishes she had won. He says his favorite moment was right before her death, when she spit in a career's face. I remember that. In my opinion, it was Kat's most memorable moment. I ask him about his allies next. He says he's very grateful that he has people in the Games he can trust. He seems to really like them. Lastly, I ask him about what he thinks his chances of winning are. "Truthfully, I don't really care," he says. "If I win, I'll be happy because I'll get to go back to my friends and family. If I die, I'll also be happy because it means I'll get to be with Kat again."

I decided to split the chapter into two halves to get a chapter up this weekend. Even though soccer's now over, I've been busy this past week because I had some friends over for a Halloween party, and it's my birthday today, so I've been busy celebrating with my friends, siblings, parents, and grandparents. But honestly, even on my birthday I can't take a break fanfictioning because I love it so much. I'm going to put up a new poll after I post the next chapter, so start deciding who your favorites are. :-)
