Zatanna and Dick are growing up. They're older now. He's Nightwing. She's still the Black Bat. He has to protect her. He needs her to live.
Wally, Artemis, and Kate look at him as if he has lost his mind. "What the hell do you mean, 'Wing?" Kate asked in a worried matter.
"It's for the best. I know it is."
"She's going to hate you. Forever." Artemis stated with a glare on her pretty features.
"I know. But she's going to have to live with it. It's for her own good." Dick said to the three.
"I don't have any idea how you're going to get out of this one. But I guess I have to trust you." Wally grumbled.
"Still, you don't have to do what you 'have' to do. There are other ways." Kate said.
"I know... but this way she'll be safe from harm. Harm I will bring. And she doesn't deserve that." Nightwing said.
Wally sighed. "We might lose her forever. Why are you taking this risk if you love her so much?"
"I want her safe. I don't want her to get hurt anymore than she has to. This is the only way and you three have to keep it quiet." Nightwing ordered.
"Whatever you say, Boss." Artemis murmured with a rolled of her grey eyes.
Dick took Zatanna out for many wonderful events of the night. They went to the movies, played game of laser tag like they used to do when they were teens, and had a late night dinner.
"Hey, Zee?" Dick asks.
"Yeah? What's up?" She inquired.
"I... I need to tell you something..." Dick said in a nervous manner.
"What is it?" Zatanna asked
Dick sighed in regret. "I have to break up with you."
