On July 17th Eve was working on the rig. As she ate her lunch she heard people talking about a certain suicide. This guy had been placed in solitary comfinement after attacking a female worker. He had allegedly been a follower of Maggie. Eve never heard Paul's name mentioned, but she believed they were talking about him. Park often placed prisoner in prolonged confinement after they attacked other workers. Suicide wasn't un-common for them. Eve feared that this was yet another death that Allah would attribute to her. She's driven both of her parents, and now Paul, to suicide. Perhaps God would hold only them responsible for their own actions. Would Allah blame Eve for helping with Karen's abortion? If not, surely Eve would be held responsible for murdering Karen. However one looked at this, it did not look good for Eve.
Thursday July 20th. Eve was still aware that today marked exactly two years, 731 days until impact. In nine or ten days they'd get news about ELE being diverted or destroyed. Before her shift Eve was brought to see colonel Park.

Park: I thought we had an agreement Eve. That you would tell us if you heard of any dangerous elements.
Eve: Noone's talking about destroying the Arks, at least not in front of me. Some mention Maggie, they think she's just a lunatic.
Park: That's good to know. Especially since you were once a skilled informant. You used to date that girl, Amy, didn't you? Does she know of your past?
Eve: We used to date. She might've figured it out.
Park: I wonder if she could've told others. Perhaps that's why they're so hesitant to talk to you about wolves.
Eve: Wolves?
Park: That's what the seccessionists call themselves these days. I fear that they're too anxious to fight, even stopping ELE won't calm them down. I would appreciate your help in finding wolves in here. If ELE is stopped it could mean an early release. If not, it could mean more lottery chances. You excercised discretion when Zoey Allen came, so I know that you're a team player. I know you missed breakfast, have some of my donuts and juice, keep up your strength for a full day's work. The rebels are nothing more than scavengers, you're better than them. Let's work together, teammate.
