After only five minutes of waiting Jay and all the rest of the boys and girls were allowed into the Duel Stadiums. Jay didn't know what to think. Being in it was thrilling in a way—who wouldn't be thrilled watching giant monsters attack each other? But was he right for wanting to get into the academy? Going to this academy would be the same as trying to get into an ivy league school.

" I don't know why my parents suggested I go to this. I don't know as much of Duel Monsters as them. I'm just going to make a fool of myself on this."

Before another thought could pop into Jay's mind he felt a sting! A hornet's stinger went through the back of Jay's neck stinging him. Jay yelped in pain. He jumped up and down holding the part where he was stung hoping someone would come and treat him with epinephrine –otherwise known as Bee Medicine.

" Who did this to me?"

Jay sobered enough from the sting to notice someone. It seemed so dark where the boy was standing that Jay couldn't get a clear description of him. All Jay saw was a finger pointing behind him. Jay turned around. Jay saw a rather short teenage boy with dark eyes and dark navy-blue hair. He was wearing an expensive looking black suit and donned a black eye-patch fastened with two cords. Jay noticed a signet in a form that looked like his families crest—Jay was less concerned about that and more about how he sighed when he saw Jay.

" Hey, did you throw something at me?"

" Indeed I did."

" Why?"

" Nothing. I don't have to justify for my actions."

" How rude."

" Since we're talking let's go for something about me. For breakfast this morning I was served scones, fried bread, bacon stripes, fried eggs, and thick slices of tomato. And to drink Taiwan's Ti Kwan Yin with cress sandwiches.

" He must know how to show a girl a good time?"

" I would concentrate less on me and more on the duels. If you thoroughly look through their decks I'm sure you'll find a way to beat them."

" He doesn't have to remind me."

" My name is Ciel." Ciel raised a friendly hand to Jay. Jay looked at the hand. He didn't really like the " Ciel" person but following his father's advice of being a gentleman took his arm and shaked it. " Ciel Barclay. Like you I am hoping on getting into this academy. With my wits and intuitive abilities I'm most likely to get into the highest rank of the latter."

" I didn't know we were ranked on this exam."

" You know, if we're in the same dorms together perhaps this could be a great opportunity for consort. I can teach you everything you need to know about who you shouldn't be near and the wrong crowds."

" I think I can see the wrong crowds for myself."

Ciel's hand was limp. Jay's hands were firm. Ciel pulled his slimy fingerless gloves out of Jay's warm hands. Jay took a moment to look at Ciel's one blue eye. As much as Ciel seemed like an egotistical dirt bag there was something he wanted to know about him.

" Tell me, you weren't born in Japan, were you?"

" No. I was born in England. Did you know England became a unified state somewhere in the nine hundreds. My mother gave birth to me on a boat whilst my father sailed to the Isles of Scilly. There he struck gold. He could only imagine it was from the Upper Palaeolithic period from the Germanic tribe in the 5th century. He used the money to ship my Bangladesh maid, my mother, me, my grandfather, and me from England over to Domino City. And here I have erudite the game Duel Monsters. How about you? How were you perceived?"

" How was I perceived? Well, my mom did tell me stories about it but…"

Flashback

" Junichi. I never told I'd see you again. I was so worried. I saw spider lilies everywhere. I kept thinking about my own blood and I—"

" Uh, Nuo."

" What is it, Junichi."

" Nuo…Here."

Happy Father's Day

" This is nice, Junichi. But isn't Father's Day not for another four months?"

" It's not for my father. It's for you."

" Why would it be for me? It's not like I'm a…Junichi?"

" Hehe. Happy Father's Day.

Flashback End:

" I don't really feel like answering that question to someone I don't even know."

" Fair enough. Just remember, even though we don't know each other I'm here if you were need consort." Ciel walked up the railings of the duel stadiums watching other people duel. Ciel rubbed his ring looking at the stadium. Ciel waved his left hand to Jay. " You might want to watch this. The mileage this one person travelled just to take part in these duels. The only question is: does he have what it takes?"
