" I summon Blazewing Butterfly. Next I'll activate Super Double Summon! I select one Gemini monster I control and Normal Summon it. But during the End Phase it's returned to my hand."

" Intriguing. And what do you plan on doing with that , rookie?"

" Use his effect. I can tribute this card to Special Summon one Gemini monster from my Graveyard, except Blazewing Butterfly of course. But here's the best part. A Gemini monster Special Summoned by this effect is treated as an Effect Monster. So that means it gets its effects. I Special Summon Doom Shaman!"

The molten-winged butterfly melted into the floor. He left a giant hole in the ground. Dark energy exploded from the ground, a demon of the damned shaman appeared. He wasn't like all the other Doom Shaman's in the game. His appearance has a helm with curled horns, one of which was broken off, horrific green lights as pupils peering out of his empty eye sockets, and pale undead skin pulled tight against his nose-less face. His skin is frayed away from his lips revealing a wick and perpetual grin.

" It's evil…"

" Thank you. Now that Doom Shaman is treated as an Effect Monster, one per turn, I can Special Summon one Fiend-type monster from mine, or your Graveyard. I chose to Special Summon Archfiend of Gilfer!"

Doom Shaman has a medley of unholy powers. He summoned green flame-like energy around his hands. He excuse an aura of death and also able to implement necromancy. The green aura sank into the ground and pulled a long-tailed, blue skinned, yellow eyed demon out.

" I attack your Blowback Dragon with Archfiend of Gilfer!"

The blue-skinned demon was released from Doom Shamons' clutches, it dashed towards Blowback Dragon. The metal dragon's big gun glowed bright blue as a laser beam was fired. Gilfer exploded.

" Well played, rookie. You know none of your monster's can get past my Jinzo, so you decided to risk your own monster to weaken mine."

" Yes. When Archfiend of Gilfer is sent to the Graveyard I can target 1 face-up monster on the field and equip him to that monster. That monster loses 500 ATK. And I chose Jinzo. Doom Shaman, attack!"

Doom Shaman charged up a green orb of energy from its staff of pure energy as the weaker monster prepared to defend itself. The demon unleashed ball of energy that ripped through the monster, shattering it into a million pixels.

" It's over. With your Jinzo gone, I activate my Ceasefire Trap Card!"

A few duels later Jay's name was finally called, who had been waiting in silent anticipation the entire time. Jay was waiting with Ceil. Ciel seemed very strict and proud, with a cold outlook on life. At the same time Jay noticed a few of his other traits. How he had chivalry, a good heart, and an attitude to look after his friends, he had not said a word to Jay since the run-in with Jay's aunt Carmel.

Jay walked down the aisles and out into the dueling area. As he waited for the examiner to make his way to the arena he casually brushed a stray strand of hair away from his face. Jay could hear laughing in the stands. Apparently his " act casual" idea made him look more like a monkey; he could see Ciel smacking his face.

Jay didn't have to wait long, for the examiner walked out so that she was standing directly across from him. Jay couldn't believe it. The examiner he was facing was none other than his Aunt Carmel. " You look just as dumb as your father. For those who are listening, and don't know me, my name is Carmel Umino. I'm head of the Osiris Blue Girl's dorm and professor at Duel Academy. I'm mostly the girls' physical education teacher. Are you ready to sweat?"

Jay nodded. " Okay Aunt Carmel—"

" DON'T CALL ME YOUR FUCKIN' AUNT!"

" I'm Jay Yusui."

" I already know that, dumbass."

" Let me tell you a little about myself. I like the autumn breeze, sleeping in my bed with a good book, my favorite dish is lasagna, my turn on are cheerleader's and girls wearing skirts, my father is from Canada while my mother was a model from Domino City, I once had a dog named Chad but he died of a twisted stomach, and next to Duel Monster's my favorite card game would be Black Jack."

" Thanks for that, unusual greeting, Mr. Yusui. I must warn you, even though I know you, I won't be holding back." Carmel's coat whirred as it activated, and six cards spat out of her academy duel disk, which she caught.

" Yeah," Jay replied as his old fashioned duel disk activate. He drew five cards from it. Although the duel disk was out of date, a gift he got from his father when he was a duelist, Jay didn't mind. He played with it while he had Chad, when he went on vacations, and even gave it the name "Chad", so he wasn't going to let it go.

All the students were getting excited. What could be better than a duel between an examiner and a rookie when they both knew each? Ciel was scratching his eye patch. People didn't know that under his eye patch Ciel was keeping something every powerful, an ancient secret he would take to his grave.

" I see," Ciel thought. " This is going to be an exciting, long duel."
