" What just happened?" Jay cried. " Did you just attack me?"
" Not even close. It's the effect of my Monarchs. When I tribute summon them I can use it's effect. Caius can remove a monster on the field. Now that you don't have a monster on your field I attack you with Caius."
Darkness surged through the metal fingers of Caius. With one punch of his hand a giant shadow moved towards Jay. Jay was punched in the chest by the fist and fell off his feet.

" I end my turn."
Jay drew one card from his deck. " I Normal Summon Moja (100/100)." A small black beast with a yellow face and small black eyes appeared on Jay's field. " By tributing my Moja I can Special Summon King of the Beasts (2500/800) from my hand." Moja sank into a giant blue wormhole. Two arthropod feet emerged from the blue wormhole. A giant eight legged beast with ruffled black fur and a scary yellow mask much like Moja's appeared. " King of the Beasts attack. Earth Pulse."
King of the Beasts stomped his two massive legs into the ground. The monster was sucked into the sand. The last thing Jay heard was a loud cry before the monarch exploded into a thousand pixels.
" You're going to have to do better than that if you want to defeat this boy you have to do better than that." Nuo thought.
" I set one card facedown and end my turn."
Ciel looked at Nuo. He wanted Nuo to walk up to his duel disk and pick up his card. Nuo refused. Ciel had to pick the card up himself. " Since I have no cards in my spell and trap card zone I can Special Summon Treeborn Frog (100/100) from my Graveyard." A yellow white underbelly toad with small white wings appeared on Ciel's side of the field. " I tribute my frog to summon Raiza the Storm Monarch (2400/1000)." The yellow toad sank into the worm hole like Jay's Moja. Out of the wormhole a monster almost exactly like Zaborg appeared. The monster was palliated green armor and green-white helmet. It was wearing a visor with a emerald green glowing through. The creature's hand created small hurricanes in his hand.
" That's a cool looking monster," Jay said. " But my monster has more attack power than your monster."
" True. But ATK points are not always what win a duel. Sometimes it's the abilities of one monster that can change the outcome of a duel. When I tribute summon a monster for Raiza I can place one monster from your field to the top of your deck." The monarch spin his arms blending in a giant windstorm. The hurricane moved towards Beast King and sucked him inside. When the wind dispersed King of the Beasts was gone.
" No. Not my King of the Beasts!" Jay cried. " Without him there's nothing to save me from a direct attack."
" That's the point. Raiza attack. Tornado Wipeout!"
Raiza's right knuckle transformed into a ball of emeralds. The emerald fist exploded and hundreds of arrows of wind shot into him. It felt like a shotgun burst into his chest. Ciel looked at him with insensitive eyes.
" That's game," Ciel said. Ciel removed his Raiza from his field. " Don't take it personnel. It was just a duel to test your skills. And end though you couldn't beat me you still took out one of my Monarchs. See you in the academy tomorrow.
" I wouldn't put the duel disk away just yet," Nuo smiled. " This duel is far from over."
" What are you blabbering about?" Raiza was still on Ciel's field. He put the card back on the field and took it off again. Raiza didn't vanish. He looked at Jay. On Jay's chest a blue shield.
Jay: 4000
Ciel: 3900
" What? How can your Life Points be restored. That attack should have decimated them." A card flipped-up on Jay's field. The picture a warrior had a reptilian monster slashing at a giant shield. " Draining Shield?"
" That's right. I'm sure someone like you should know never to underestimate the power of one Trap Card Ciel. But you are egotistic, misogynistic, and you don't have any feelings for others."
" What does my emotions have to do with Duel Monsters?"
" Not knowing how is why I'm going to win this duel." Jay drew a card from the top of his deck: King of the Beasts. " I summon Beast Striker (1850/400) A green-skinned gorilla monster with black fur over his chest and a giant hammer in its hand. " And with his effect-"
" I know what your monster does. By sending one card from your hand to the Graveyard you can Special Summon a Moja from your deck. But you already put Moja in your Graveyard."
" Oh really. I Special Summon Moja (100/100)." Beast Striker slammed his hammer against the ground. A small blue worm hole ripped open on the field and another Moja appeared on his field. " A good duelist knows when to keep more than one copy of a card in their deck. Especially if it's a monster as awesome as Moja. Now I'll tribute my Moja to Special Summon King of the Beasts from my Graveyard (2500/800)."
Once again Moja was sucked into a blue worm hole. Two long grasshopper legs emerged from the hole. The beast crawled all the way out of the hole and growled at Raiza remembering how he put him on top of Jay's deck.
" I thought I returned him to the top of your deck?"
" I sent him to my Graveyard with Beast Striker. You know we can go all night explaining the card details to each other, but if it shows up on the dueling system you know its legit. King of the Beasts attack. Eroding Blast." A crimson ball of energy charged in King of the Beasts mouth. He fired the crimson ball into Raiza. Raiza exploded in a beautiful blast. " Beast Striker attack. Hammer Touch." Beast jumped over Ciel. He touched Ciel with his hammer. The hammer went into a worm hole and the other end hit Ciel's back. " I end my turn."

Ciel: 1950
Ciel didn't like being looked like a fool in front of crowds. He would usually make his father deal with his problems. Resolving to beat Jay and prove he didn't need his father's help, drew his card. " I special summon Treeborn Frog from my Graveyard to my side of the field." Treeborn Frog jumped out of the ground. He jumped over Ciel's duel field, ecstatic about being a part of his fight. " I tribute summon Treeborn Frog for Kuraz the Light Monarch (2400/1000). Treeborn Frog exploded from the field. The pieces of him that remained turned into white gumdrops. They floated together forming the carapace of another monarch.
This monarch was holy compared to the other monarchs. His armor was pure yellow unlike Zaborg who's head was green. It had a sash on it's shoulders. A small sun glowed over the monarch's head.
" Another Monarch monster? This kid is just full of them."
" Kuraz Monarch's special ability. I can destroy up to two cards on the field, and the controller of those cards get to draw one card. But this card cannot attack the turn it activates this effect."
" He's going to destroy both my monsters. I'll be completely defenceless. But I'll get to draw two cards and he's monster can't attack."
" The monsters I'm going to destroy are your King of the Beasts and Kuraz the Light Monarch." Light shinned over King of the Beasts and Kuraz. Both monsters started to crumble. They exploded into dust to Jay's bewilderment.
" What? But Kuraz the Light Monarch was your own monster!" Nuo shouted.
" I know that. But since a monster on my field was destroyed I get to draw one card." Jay and Ciel drew a card from their decks. Ciel looked at his card. With a wolf smile he jiggled his card. " Just what I needed. I remove from play my Kuraz and Raiza to Special Summon Dark Simorgh (2700/1000)." Two transparent spirits rise from Ciel's graveyard. Their spirits turned black, violet black almost as tenebrous as Ciel's heart. A shadowy bird descended, and two black talons crushed Kuraz and Raiza. A giant black crow with a black crown appeared behind Ciel and shrieked as Jay quivered.
" Oh no." Nuo thought. " I know that monster and it's not a nice one to tangle with."
Ciel fed off people's fears. He had a pot embroiled with tears and suffering men. When he looked at Jay's crying face he was remembered of that pot. " I hate people like you. People who are optimistic about what will happen to you in the future. People who never think about what's happening now. They never pay attention in the present. Well in this present I have the stronger monster. Dark Simorgh, attack!"
