Dark Dimension; Dark Ocean
Davis, Jeri, Kouichi and Alice exited the portal and found themselves at the shore of the Dark Ocean, the girls and their digimon quickly began trembling and showed
signs of deep discomfort.
"Where are we?" asked Kouichi
"This, my dear warrior, is the Dark Ocean, it is the home of the most dangerous and powerful creatures of darkness that the digital world has produced" said Davis
while the girls huddled together in fear "But it is also the home of three of my greatest friends and allies, do not fear, my angels are well known in this area and we
are not to be disturbed by anyone, now please accompany me"
Davis began walking towards the water, the girls stayed at the shore while Kouchi followed Davis until they were so deep in the water that only their heads could be
seen, at the shore the girls only saw two small figures that were inside the water, they wanted to hear what Davis had to say to the warrior of darkness but they
would have to wait.
"So now what? Is that all? Do I just bathe myself in this water and hope for Duskmon to leave me alone?" asked Kouichi not convinced
"My, my, how impatient" said Davis sarcastically "Of course not, you will dive underwater and then a portal will transport you to the inside of the dark whirlpool, it is
there where you will find your other half, I would accompany you but unfortunately for you I have to stay and keep an eye on your friends, however since your spirit
partner can sense the danger, he will notify me if you have any type of trouble, do you understand?" he asked
"I guess so" he answered still not sure "I'm not completely confident but I will give it a try if it means getting rid of Duskmon forever"
"That's the spirit, well off you go now"
Davis began swimming back to the shore as Kouichi submerged himself deeper into the ocean, the dark hazard chosen walked back to the spot where the girls were
sitting, he then explained to them the procedure that Kouichi would have to do in order for him to face his other half.
"I knew there was something weird about him, he was always so quiet" said Jeri after Davis revealed the Kouichi was the warrior of darkness
"Yes, he is an interesting fellow, however I must ask you to not judge him, the reason he has kept this information from everyone is because he fears that he will be
singled out because of the frequent association that the powers of darkness have with disasters and tyranny. He is not an evil person and even though he has done
things he regrets he hasn't done them by his own will" replied Davis
"I speak for myself and for the Tamers when I say that we don't care what powers he has, he seems like a good person, besides the twins Ai and Mako have Impmon
as their partner and he isn't exactly an angel" said Jeri as she pet both Calumon and Punimon who were comfortably snuggled against her
"Ah yes, the demon lord of gluttony, from what I've heard he is a rather impulsive digimon and the weakest of the demon lords" he said while he kept his gaze to the
dark ocean
Dark Dimension; Dark Whirpool
Kouichi had done what Davis said and dived into the dark ocean, as he kept swimming underwater he began to see the entrance of a portal, it was dark and the aura
that surrounded it was one of death and despair, it was the dark whirlpool, the place where the digital souls that were damned were captured and tortured for all
eternity. After traveling thru the portal, the warrior of darkness emerged into a barren wasteland that had nothing in sight, the panorama was gray and had no sign
of living, he suddenly started feeling tired, empty, alone. Fear began to overcome him and in a turn of events he lost consciousness, he remained in that state for
minutes until a voice startled him so much that he came back to the living world,
"Hello Kouichi, did you miss me?"
"D-Du-Duskmon"
Dark Dimension: Dark Ocean
The group was sitting quietly by the shore, although Alice, Jeri and their digimon were uncomfortable at first, they began to calm down after seeing Davis so peaceful.
The chosen of the dark hazard was lying on his back and watching the gray sky while listening to the waves of the ocean, the girls had many questions to ask him
and they felt like this was the perfect time to clear all doubts they had about the dark king.
"Hey Chao- I mean Davis, why are you fighting the digidestined?" asked Jeri suddenly
Davis looked up and met her eyes, the girl froze as she saw the coldness and pain behind those black orbs "I am fighting them for two reasons, because they are
interfering with my plans, and because I want them to pay for what they did to me"
"What do you mean?" said Alice
"I promised myself and my friend that I would make them pay for what they did to me"
"I don't understand. What did they do? What friend are you talking about?" asked Jeri confused
"They betrayed me, and my friend" he said to both girls as he sighed loudly and looked up at the sky "My partner, my friend, Veemon, I will not let his death be in
vain"
The girls gasped and covered their mouths, even the digimon who were happily playing in the sand stopped doing so, all eyes were on the king of darkness, he
looked calm but his eyes wore a fire that could burn glaciers away.
"They killed him?" said Alice trying to figure out the enigma
Davis stayed quiet for a moment, he didn't want to tell them his story, it was too soon, they would not believe him and if they did it would cause a crack in the
teams, this was something he didn't want to happen. They had united as one and they were going to fall as one, if the gods noticed that they had separated, they
would send more agents to try and kill anyone that was not on their side. No, he had to lie; he had to protect them even if they despised him.
"No, but they didn't help me defend him, that's why I turned to the darkness for help, I will not kill the destined but I will make them wish I did" he said finally
"Is that why you became Chaos?" inquired Jeri
"No, that was just a nickname I was given by the Japanese press after I slaughtered two of the sovereign's generals in broad daylight, I've had many nicknames
before; reaper, ripper, fallen angel, devil, impaler, death. But my real title is king of the dark hazard" he said firmly while the girls took a step back from him after
hearing the nicknames he had been given
"Ripper, king. What are you?" said Alice with fear
"I already told you, I am Davis Gabriel the former child of miracles and current chosen of darkness" he answered
"The destined said that when they first saw you, you had two children with you. Did you kidnap them? Or are they with you?"
"Ah yes, my angels, my girls, they sure know how to impress if I say so myself"
"Are they with you?" she asked again
"Yes, they are with me by free will, they were rejected and committed horrible deaths in the past and know they are trying to redeem themselves by helping me
accomplish my goals"
The conversation continued on as time passed, Davis began asking questions about the portrayal of the destined in the Tamers dimension, he was not surprised when
he found out that even in another dimension people still believed him to be dumb and useless, that Kari is meant to be with T.K and that he is an immature brat that
only got the position as leader because of his resemblance to Tai.
Dark Dimension: Dark Whirpool
"Duskmon, it's you" said Kouichi
"Yes, it's been a while Kouichi, I see that you have grown quite a bit since last time we saw each other"
"You dare strike up a casual conversation, WHEN YOU PERFECTLY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN HAUNTING ME SINCE THE DAY I WAS FREED FROM LUCEMON'S
GRASP" said Kouichi yelling the last part while Duskmon merely gave him a cocky smirk and began walking around in circles around him
"Hey kid you need to lower your tone with me, remember I am you, I am a part of the warrior of darkness, the reason that I haunt you is because you have me
trapped inside of your mind, your regret is what drives you to suppress me, and I will not rest until I am free again" he said while he gave a shrieking laugh
"STOP IT! YOU MADE ME DO THOSE THINGS! THOSE HORRIBLE THINGS" he yelled desperately while he slumped to the ground clutching his head
"No I didn't, you did, you enjoy the power, the hunt for prey, you are a killer Kouichi"
"NO, NO, NOOOOOO!"
Loweemon's spirit appeared next to Kouichi and put his hand around him, he watched as the boy cried and held his head in emotional pain, all of his past, everything
he had done while under the control of Lucemon was coming back to him and he and only him could overcome it.
"Kouichi, you can do it, you can overcome it, you're not evil Kouichi, you made mistakes, everyone has but you were willing to give your life to protect the whole
dimension" whispered Loweemon
"Bu-But the digimon, I hurt my friends, I-I" trembled the boy
"Kouichi, stay strong, you cannot perish here, I will not let you die here, come on get up" said Loweemon trying to pick the boy up "I SAID GET UP! GET UP KID, I AM
NOT PARTNERED TO A COWARD, IF YOU DIE HERE THEN YOU WILL ONLY PROVE HIM RIGHT!" yelled Loweemon suddenly
Kouichi was surprised at his partner's outburst, the warrior of darkness was usually calm and reserved but at the moment he seemed desperate and stressed, as the
boy managed to get on his feet Duskmon appeared once again in front of him and continued to talk.
"I see that Loweemon was right, you are stronger than you seem, you beat Lucemon but can you beat your own regret, HAHAHAHAHA!"
"I-I- will beat you, this ends now" said Kouichi having regained his confidence after Loweemon's outburst "EXECUTE SPIRIT EVOLUTION!... LOWEEMON!"
Kouichi digivolved into Loweemon and quickly went with full force to attack Duskmon, the digimon managed to shield himself from the attack but he was still injured
with Loweemon's lance, he tried to use his sword to cut Loweemon's arm but failed when the warrior of darkness dodged the attack, grabbed his arm and broke it.
Duskmon screamed in full agony and was subdued after receiving multiple kicks and punches to both the face and the mid-section. As he was on his knees, he
realized that it was over, the boy had unknowingly passed the test, he would now be able to take the true identity of the warrior of darkness. Kouichi watched as
Duskmon grabbed his sword and sunk it into his own throat killing himself in the process, his data however was not released into the dark whirlpool, it went straight
into his D-Tector,
"What the" the boy couldn't finish his phrase because at the moment he began to feel his insides burning, he reached for his D-Tector and transformed once again
into the warrior of darkness.
"EXECUTE SPIRIT EVOLUTION…LOWEEMON DUSK MODE"
In place of Kouichi was now a new digimon, he had a resemblance to both Loweemon and Duskmon, his straight blond hair cascaded down to his upper back and
Loweemon's mask covered his face, his body was covered in silver and black armor with eyes that popped out of the inner arm area, on his hands were one of
Duskmon's swords and Loweemon's lance, this was the true warrior of darkness.
Dark Dimension: Dark Ocean
The group had been waiting for quite some time and the girls were getting impatient and worried. Jeri kept asking Davis if Kouichi was ok to which the dark hazard
king replied that he was taking his time because it was not an easy task to accomplish. Davis suddenly got up and started walking towards the tip of the ocean, he
watched as Kouichi made his way towards him, his demeanor was calm and collected as always but something in his gaze made everyone see that he was not the
same.
"Congratulations, I see that you have managed to tame your inner demons, how's the new look suiting you?" asked Davis
"I'm great thanks, but how did you know that I would become one with Duskmon again?" he asked
"I am the king of darkness for a reason, both of those spirits are one, they were separated once and now they are united once again" responded Davis
"So what did I miss?" Kouichi said turning to Jeri and Alice
"Not much, Davis was telling us about Veemon" answered Alice
"I thought they should know why I became what I am, now let's get back home, it must be dawn in the real world, follow me" he said as he began walking away from
the dark ocean "DIMENSIONAL RIFT! CHOSEN DIMENSION, ODAIBA PORTAL OPEN!"
Odaiba: Japan
After arriving in the real world the group made its way back to Odaiba hospital to continue watching over their friends, they passed the pediatric section of the
hospital and Davis couldn't help but feel a knot in his throat as he saw a small child covered in bruises being taken into a room. He stopped and stared thru the
window into the room, he could hear the doctor's words as he talked to one of the nurses;
"Her fractures have healed enough but her physical scarring is still evident, the bruises and swelling will go down eventually but I'm afraid that her emotional state
could be serious, she received quite a beating" said the doctor
"I've contacted the family and no one wants anything to do with her" said the nurse
"Who was taking care of her now?" he asked
"The uncle and one of her aunts, they both have custody of her after her parents passed away, the child says that she fell down the stairs but it's evident that this is
a case of child abuse"
"Yes, I see your point, when she first came in she was terrified, she kept apologizing for being bad and even wet the bed a couple of times, poor child, and since
there are no other family members she will either be sent back to her family or if child services intervene she will probably be sent to an orphanage" said the doctor
Davis had stopped in the corridor and had listened to the whole conversation, Jeri, Alice and Kouichi saw him and asked him what was wrong, but the chosen of
darkness didn't respond, he was absorbing all the words that he was hearing, with every image that began appearing in his mind he became more and more angry.
The Tamers and the warrior of darkness stepped back as they saw Davis's eyes begin to flash in different colors, his fangs had become large and his eyes were cold
and sadistic, his hair had even begun to spike up.
"T-T-ho-se bastards, m-mo-nsters, must kill them, must kill them" he kept repeating to himself
His rage was getting the best of him, he imagined the little girl's pain as she was struck by those monsters, her tears, her screams, he saw her broken and bruised
body within his mind, he gave growl that made the digimon bury their faces in their partner's chests, the lights in the whole hospital began flashing and some even
went out, Davis was lost in his silent rage. Suddenly, a child's cry could be heard and that brought back the dark king into his normal state, he watched as the girl
held onto the nurse in fear and he felt his heart break. He felt the need to take her away from that hell, but all in due time, he would rescue her but first he would
find a way to do it in secret.
"Davis are you okay?" asked Kouichi knowing the desperation behind the look on Davis's eyes
"I-I'm fine, sorry for my outburst, I just heard something that was despicable and I tend to react like that" he said composing himself
"I wonder what he heard that made him so angry" whispered Alice to Jeri
"I think it has to do with that little girl that the doctors took to the room" answered Jeri
The group continued back to the hall where the Tamers and Takuya's room were, Davis instructed the group to not say anything about their encounter and that if
they were asked about the digimon that they should lie and say that they received digieggs out of the blue. He knew it wasn't the best alibi but it would do for now.
The night quickly turned into day and Davis remained in the hospital waiting for news on the little girl's guardian status, he then saw a women dressed in a skirt and
high heels while she held a folder on her hand, he knew what that meant, the family was deemed unsafe for the girl and she would be taken to an orphanage.
"I can't let them take her there, she will suffer just like I did, she deserves much better" he thought
"Yes, everything is on her file, now let me talk to the child so that I can take her to her new home" said the woman as the doctor retreated into another floor
The woman opened the door and was greeted by a sleeping child, Davis saw her go in and he quickly entered the room behind her, he closed the door and the
woman turned to face him,
"Excuse me, but who are you? What are you doing here?" she asked
"I can't let you take her; I will not let you take her, Eye of Nightmare!" Davis invoked his power while he looked at the woman right in the eye, he compelled her and
said
"You will answer all my questions and do as I say. Is that clear?"
"Yes master"
"Do you have all the information on her?"
"Yes master"
"Can you change her guardianship to another family member?"
"Yes master, as long as they sign this paper and provide proof of relationship" she answered as she took out a stack of papers which Davis quickly snatched from her
hand
"Fine then" he began signing the papers rapidly and with no hesitation "My signature is there, if anyone asks you will say that I have provided all certification and that
I am her older brother"
"Yes I understand master"
"Also, I will need the papers with her information so please hand them over" he said to the woman as he was handed two sheets of paper with information on the
girl's guardians "One more thing, as soon as you make your way back to your office you will input the information and signature that I just gave you into the
computer and will delete any history on her previous guardians, is that understood"
"Yes master"
"Leave this room at once, take the stairs, be careful not to be seen, do not talk to anyone about this, if anyone asks, you will say that the girl was taken given to the
guardianship of a distant relative" ordered Davis
"Yes master"
The compelled woman left the room and Davis swiftly made his way to the side of the girl's bed, even though she was badly bruised she was still beautiful and she
looked so peaceful while she slept, her hair was the most beautiful copper that Davis had ever seen, her features were delicate and suited her small frame, she began
waking up and her big light brown eyes looked up to Davis who could feel his heart light up for the first time in so many years.
"Hello sweetie, did you sleep well" said Davis in a sweet tone that he had forgot he had
"Yes, thank you, are you taking me back to my auntie" said the girl with fear
"No darling, you are not going back there"
"Oh, the man in white said that someone was picking me up and that they would take me to a place where all the boys and girls that don't have mommies or daddies
live, are you here to take me there?" asked the child
"Sweetie, we are leaving but we aren't going to that horrible place, you're going to live with me, you will have all the toys in the world and you will never cry again
ok" he said to the child who looked confused
"Are you my new daddy?" she asked innocently
"I'm your Oni-chan, ok, now come on, go to the bathroom and get dressed, we are leaving"
"Yes Oni-chan"
The child changed into an old dress that went to her lower knees, Davis quickly grabbed her hand and asked her
"Sweetie, what's your name?"
"I'm Lily and I'm 6" answered the girl happily as she walked hand in hand with Davis to the stairs
"Lily huh, it means purity" he said to no one
"Mommy used to say that, she said I was a good girl and that I was pretty like a flower"
"You sure are Lily, now let's get you something to eat ok" he said giving her a warm smile
"Oni-chan, my aunt and uncle say that im a bad girl and that I should have died just like mommy and daddy, I'm not bad am I?" asked the girl with pleading eyes
while Davis had to swallow hard in order to contain his emotions
"No Lily, never let those words get to you, you are a beautiful and charming girl, you are pure like a flower just like your mother used to say" he said as he tried to
not get angry at what the girl had to experience
"Thank you, Oni-chan" she replied quietly
"Now let's not talk about sad things, let's go get some pizza and then well go to the park and get some ice cream, would you like pizza and ice cream?" said Davis
changing the subject to try and cheer the child up
"YES! I LOVE THEM!" replied the girl loudly while she beamed at Davis with her big light brown eyes and a smile that could light up the darkest of places
Lily and Davis walked hand in hand as they exited the hospital, Davis looked back at the place and then to the child on his right side, he felt alive, and he felt the
need to protect her, she wouldn't end up like him. No, she would be loved and cared for, she would never again be mistreated or abused, he would make those
monsters that did this to her pay their debt with blood, he would protect her from everything and everyone that tried to harm her, and if anyone ever laid so much as
a finger on her, they would face the wrath of the king of darkness. This was a new chance for both Davis and Lily, this was a new beginning.
And there it is, I apologize for not being able to update sooner, I read one of the reviews that asked if this story would be discontinued, and the
answer is NO! The story is still on, and in future chapters we will see more development of the relationship between Davis and his new little sister,
also the action and the war surrounding him and his angels will escalate in the near future. Until then.
