Odaiba Hospital: 12th floor hallway

Davis walked out of the room into the hallway still distressed about the words that had just come out of his mouth, he was met with the chosen who analyzed his

demeanor and had apparently heard some small bits of the conversation he had with Kari.

"I must take my leave now, but before I do so I have one more thing to address" he said as he eyed them carefully "I didn't come here just to visit Hikari and Ken, I

am here to offer you a treaty"

This caught the chosen's attention, they had been expecting an end to their battles but to say that they were not grateful of Davis's offer was an understatement.

Some of the older teenagers such as Matt and J.P. were not convinced so easily and so they pressured Davis into conversation with hope of revealing his true desire.

"Let's say that we agree, what's in it for us, you seem hell-bent on making us suffer but now you suddenly want to back down, what do you really want?" asked Matt

with boldness as the rest of the group looked over to Davis half expecting him to lash out and rip the destined's head off

"Peace, that is what I desire and that is what you need, if you continue to pursue me there will be a battle in which innocents will be hurt, not only that but there is

also the situation where one of you could die from the injuries sustained, I have no more desire to continue this pathetic war with you, I already made your lives hell,

I kept my promise and charged you the debt you had with me, now it is time to move forward, so now the question lingers; Will you agree to this proposition or will

your resentment and brashness cloud your better judgment?" he said while he searched for any sign of opposition

The chosen stood in silence after the words they had just heard, the offer was way too tempting to reject, Matt stood in front of Davis not wanting to take off his gaze

from him, Davis saw this and he too locked eyes with him, the staring battle continued for a couple of minutes with no one daring to interrupt. There seemed to be no

winner until Davis's eyes began to flash dangerously, his demeanor became darker and Matt had no other choice but to back down in fear.

"Now that's more like it" he thought

"I guess this means that you have accepted my offer" he said as he walked past the chosen before stopping in front of Matt once again

"Take this as token of appreciation for the correct decision that you have taken today, it should be enough to cover the expenses" he said as he gave Matt a check

with a considerable sum of money written on it.

"Take care chosen, and as for what you saw earlier, that is a secret that is only mine and Hikari's to know, but never doubt that she had a special place within this

darkened heart"

Davis said these words in a voice laced with a deep emotion, the chosen could only look at him in confusion, he turned on his heel and walked back to the elevator

not bothering to look back. He could hear muttering and small talk that indicated a pending conversation filled with questions but he paid no attention to them as the

elevator doors closed.

Odaiba Hospital: Room 117

It took Hikari a couple of minutes in order for her to realize that someone had been in the room with her, sheglanced over at the night table that was positioned at

the side of her bed and saw a small package with a note attached to it, she grabbed it and carefully began to unwrap it careful not to ruin the note.

*KNOCK* *KNOCK*

There was a knocking on the door and Kari called out to her friends to join her over at the side of her bed, she held the package in her hands and could see the

nervousness that the destined showed which indicated that something had gone down while she was in her injured state.

"Guys, Is everything alright?" she asked worried

"Kari what's that?" asked Joe as everyone's attention turned to the little bundle in her hands

"It was here when I woke up, I was just about to open it, did you guys leave it here?" she said as Matt stepped forward and grabbed the package from her hands

"Matt, what are you doing?" she asked not understanding the events

"Do you remember who came into the room?" he asked as Kari put her hand on her chin and began thinking

"I saw a figure step out the door as I was waking up, but I just thought that it was a dream" she answered

Everyone went silent at this statement, she didn't know that Davis had visited her, they had all realized the resentment she had saved for the chosen of darkness

after what he had done to her best friend and her brother, but she needed to know, not because it would matter but because it could maybe shed a bit of light into

Davis's character since she was the one closest to him before he went rogue.

"He came to see you" said Koji in a low hiss

Kari didn't understand what they were talking about and so she asked confusedly "What do you mean? Who came to see me?"

"It was Davis, he came to see both you and Ken, he spent quite some time in with him but with you it was just a couple of minutes, we stood by the door and heard

some parts of what he said but that's all" said Cody with his usual maturity

"WHAT!" she yelled in frustration

"We tried to stop him but he made it clear that he didn't want any interruptions" said Jeri looking at Kari sadly

"WHY WOULD THAT BASTARD COME HERE?" she asked furiously

"We wondered the same but he said he wanted a cease fire, and apparently this is his way of saying that he's done fighting" interrupted Jeri

"I don't believe him, but at least he didn't hurt you and that's fine for now" said Matt as he gave the package back to Kari

Kari looked at the gift in her hands and thought about throwing it away immediately, her friends looked at her and expected her to do so, but something in her heart

made her want to open it, she knew it was probably some gruesome thing like an animal head or a dead bird but curiosity got the best of her and she unwrapped it in

one quick motion.

"OH MY GOD!" she exclaimed in surprise

"What is it?" asked Koji

"It's a lollipop?" said Joe not believing the childish gift

"What kind of twisted gift is that?" said J.P.

"He's really lost it, thinking he can fix everything with a freaking candy" spoke Tommy

"Don't get so worked up about it Kari" said Matt as he extended his hand to her "Give it to me and I'll throw it away"

"NO!" yelled Kari gripping the candy and the note in her hands with force

"Kari are you feeling ok?" asked Joe worriedly

"I'm fine but" she trembled slightly "I just feel tired, I want to take a nap" she said as everyone looked at her comprehensively

"Don't worry Kari, we'll let you rest for a while ok" said Koji

The large group left thru the door and after their steps could not be heard anymore, Kari began to cry in silence, she looked at the small candy and read the note she

had been given;

"Ill be here whenever you cry, take this, candy always makes people forget about the bad stuff"

Flashback

A young girl of no more than nine years walked sadly to the park to clear her mind, she felt like crying but knew she couldn't do it at home, her day had been going

horribly, in the morning she had fought with her older brother because of some stupid CD player that she had accidentally dropped and broken, at school she had lost

her place in the musical because she had fallen on her butt and forgotten her lines, she felt terrible, everything had gone wrong, she missed her digimon partner, she

hated fighting with her brother, she hated to cry and most of all she hated to feel weak.

A young boy with spiky brown hair and bags under his eyes stood in a corner of the park holding a box with some lollipops, he watched as the people passed by him

and gave him sad looks of pity from time to time, his shoes had holes in them and some of his toes popped up from them, his face was contorted into an expression

of sadness and fatigue. It had been three days since he had tried any type of food, his stomach was isolated but he still had hope because he only needed one more

candy to be sold and his box would be empty, if that happened then maybe today he would finally get some porridge to eat. He checked the time, it was late

afternoon and he would be picking him up soon, he didn't like to be kept waiting so the child made his way back to the other side of the block.

*SNIFF* *SNIFF*

He heard a crying sound coming from behind one of the large oak trees that were in the park, he decided to stay a little longer and maybe he could even sell that last

lollipop, creeping closer to the back of the tree he discovered where the sound was coming from, a young girl was silently weeping as her knees were curled up to her

chin trying to hide her pain.

"Why are you crying" he asked suddenly

The girl gazed up and he was surprised at what he saw, he was seeing an angel, she was the most beautiful being the child had gazed upon, her long brown hair was

neatly tied into a ponytail leaving space for her big copper eyes to shine in the approaching sunset, her porcelain white skin contrasted perfectly with the yellow dress

she wore.

"Go away" she answered rudely

"I won't go away until you tell me why you are crying" said the boy decisively

"I SAID GO AWAY! WHY DO YOU CARE ANYWAY?

The boy took a step back at her outburst but remained at her side "I don't like to see people cry, no one should cry alone" he answered as he sat down beside her

and extended his hand

"My name is Davis, What's your name?" he asked

"I-I'm Hikari Kamiya" said the girl still sniffing slowly from her previous tears

"It's nice to meet you Kari, but why were you crying?"

Kari began to tell Davis all about her problems during the day, she had asked if he knew about digimon and was surprised as the boy flinched when she began to talk

about her partner, she enjoyed herself with him , he would listen and occasionally pitch in a comment or two, before they realized it, it had become dark and Kari had

to say goodbye to him, she felt sad saying goodbye to her new friend but he promised her that they would see each other again, as she turned her back to him she

heard him call and gave her a bright red lollipop.

"Ill be here whenever you cry, take this, candy always makes people forget about the bad stuff"

End Flashback

The memory faded from Kari's mind as she gripped the small piece of paper close to her heart, he still remembered, after all that time, he still remembered her

hopes, her dreams, her pains, he still cared, but if he did then why was he doing those things, was she the one to blame, what had truly happened to that small

innocent boy that turned him into a cold blooded king of darkness

"Oh Davis, have you gone past the point of no return?" she asked to herself

Ace of Spades Bar&Lounge: Kabukicho

Davis had gone to his club to clear his mind, what he did was wrong, he shouldn't of gone there, he couldn't let his emotions get the best of him, NO!, he would get

his revenge whether it hurt his heart or not, he watched as his subordinates began to arrive and prepare for the night and went to the storage room to get an old

guitar he had previously stored there. Time passed and as the lights and music were turned on; he began to strum the instrument with tenderness as his memory

took a dark turn to the past.

Flashback

Davis saw the familiar van that signaled he had already arrived, he could see the impatience and anger in the man's eyes, he was tall and slim with bony hands that

showed his veins popping out of them, his mouth twitched into a smirk as he saw Davis climb to the van.

"Took you long enough brat, did you sell all of that shit"

"Y-Y-Yes s-sir" answered the boy nervously after remembering what he had done to the last candy

"Give me the money, and if you behave then maybe today you'll get some food into that disgusting body of yours"

The drive back to the orphanage was quiet and gloom, the man exited the van and grabbed the bag full of coins that Davis had given him previously, Davis

accompanied him to his office and waited for the worst, he knew that money would be missing, it was a simple lollipop but that man would not care, he was what one

would call a truly evil being that thrived on the pain of others. The minutes passed and the bag became empty, small piles of yens were stacked together and time

was running out for Davis, he realized that he was done for when he was met with the gaze of the man who loathed humanity itself.

"Piece of shit, where is the 100 yens that's missing?" he asked menacingly

Davis cowered under the monstrous man and trembling he said "I-I do-don"

He was unable to finish his wording because he was slapped across his small face, the hit was so strong that it managed to knock him down and he soon found

himself pressed into a wall as the filthy man grabbed his neck, choking the air out of him.

"LISTEN HERE AND LISTEN WELL FUCKING GAIJIN. I OWN YOU FUCKER, I AM YOUR GUARDIAN, YOUR MASTER, I HAD STARTED TO THINK OF GOING EASY ON YOU

BUT I GUESS IM GONNA HAVE FUN AFTER ALL" he yelled as he dragged the small child who was too weak to even put up a fight

Davis was dragged to a far off room that was at the end of the orphanage building, it had been abandoned long time ago, it was now used for "dealing" with those

children who messed up or refused to obey the commands they were given. The metal door opened and the boy recognized the familiar setting, chains were stuck to

the wall, cigarettes and lighters adorned the place, stains of blood and sweat covered the floor, nails were seen here and there, it was every man's fear, it was the

torture chamber, capable of breaking the hardest of bodies, able to put out the most raging fires inside the soul, it was hell on earth.

"Take your clothes off" said the man in a silent rage

"P-P-lea-se sir, I-I- promise to pay you ba-ack" he sobbed as he looked at the man with pitiful hope

"WITH WHAT YOU UNGRATEFUL VILE THING, YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING, ANYTHING! MOMMY AND DADDY ARE GONE, GONE FOREVER!" he yelled as Davis broke

down crying with more emphasis "AND NOW LOOK AT YOU, I BET THOSE TWO FUCKERS ARE BURNING IN HELL WHILE WATCHING YOUR PATHETIC LIFE UNRAVEL, I

SAW A PICTURE OF YOUR MOMMA, THEY SAY SHE WAS A GOOD FUCK"

The man continued to break down the child's psychology, his laughter echoed thru the room, after doing so he grabbed a cigarette and lit it up, puffing the smoke in

Davis's face making him cough and choke, the boy was stripped of all his clothing and after the cigarette was almost done it was put against his neck burning his

skin, the man grabbed the helpless boy and chained him to the wall, after he was done with this; he put on hard work gloves and picked up a barb wire that had

sharp spikes coming out of it, he smiled sadistically at the boy and said;

"Stay still, this is only going to hurt a little, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The wire connected with the child's stomach opening a fresh wound that although not too deep still made blood pour in considerable quantities, the beating continued

as Davis was struck on his chest and arms, his legs failed him and he was only being kept up by the chains that were binding him. The man continued to torture him

until he eventually got tired and unchained the barely conscious child, Davis fell to the floor covered in blood and unable to get up.

"That should show ya that stealing is a bad thing" said the man satisfied with the result of his twisted game "Clean yourself up, little faggot, you're disgusting" he said

with vileness and threw him his old ragged shirt.

Davis crawled over to the shirt and wiped the blood from his face, he cried himself to sleep that night, the man was right he indeed had nothing but maybe with a

little bit of luck he would now have someone, yes he did, he had a friend, a true angel and her name was Kari Kamiya.

End Flashback

Davis continued to play the guitar until midnight, the club was still raging and he decided to leave before all the drunk girls became annoying, he started the Zenvo's

engine and sped away into the night, he was a lonely bohemian that strolled thru the darkness that comforted him, that darkness that was there for him when all the

light had faded from him.

Digital World: Central Quadrant

Gennai made his way to the sovereign plateau to give his new inform on the development of the demise of the dark king, he ran as fast as his legs could and was

soon met with the entrance to the plateau, after waiting for several moments, he was met with the only available guardian, Zquiaomon of the south.

"Ah, Gennai, what brings you here to our humble home" he said in his dry voic

"Lord Zquiaomon I have important news, I have found a way to weaken the spawn of darkness"

Zquiaomon looked interested at these words and quickly motioned Gennai to continue

"A child, a child that holds the crest of purity, she has apparently become his protégé, we must get a hold of her, if we can manipulate the dark king into coming

here, then we can set a trap and kill him and the demon lords" answered Gennai confidently

"Interesting, very interesting, who is this child you speak of, show me" commanded the lord of the south

Gennai grabbed a small photo projector from his pocket and pointed it at the nearest wall, after a few seconds there was an image of a young girl with copper hair

and big brown eyes, she was happily holding hands with Lucemon and Lilithmon who smiled at her warmly, in the background you could see Davis looking at the trio

with tenderness in his gaze.

"I think we have found his weak spot, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" laughed Zquiaomon loudly making the hills tremble

So it seems that Davis's past is darker than we thought Kari is debating whether he deserves to be saved or not, and apparently Gennai's plan

involves Lily. What will Davis do to protect those he loves? Will he succeed in his quest? Will the portal to the central quadrant ever be opened?
