Dear Diary
Some people say that being the bad girl is fun. It wasn't fun. I didn't even want to be the bad girl, but I was up against the ultimate bad girl and I could only beat her by playing her games. I had to be better than her at her games. She had taken my will from me and turned me into something I didn't want to be.
The number of people that knew about the coffins was growing. I didn't like that because if more people knew, there was a greater chance of Rebekah finding out.
I finally headed home. I wore a black single-shoulder sweater with a pair of red lips on it and blue leggings with black boots. It was a bit of a risk with all of the people in the house. I had to make sure that everyone was gone to school. I had to go there because Damon wasn't sticking to the schedule. I found him in his room in a towel.
"Seriously?" I asked. "We are supposed to meet Bonnie at the old witch house in 10 minutes and you're not even dressed."
A hot shower sounded good, because I hadn't had running water in a few days, but I had work to do. It still was true that Damon was possibly the worst sidekick ever.
"Stop rushing me." He declared. "She can wait."
"We have work to do." I pointed out. "Rebekah isn't going to just spontaneously combust."
I then noticed that he had a bit of a smug grin on his face.
"Why are you smiling?" I asked.
"Oh, no reason. I'll be ready in a minute." He stated before he walked off.
Soon the two of us were at the house. I could swear that I heard something.
"So you didn't tell Jeremy or Leah about the coffins, did you?" I questioned.
"No I said I wouldn't." He pointed out.
"What you say and what you do aren't always the same thing." I reminded him. "This is something that needs to stay a secret and I can't have you blabbing to anyone."
I then stopped him as he prepared to enter. I knew that someone else was there.
"Go inside." I told Damon.
I then waited for the uninvited guest to appear. It was a man. His eyes turned gold as he prepared to attack. He didn't seem very bright or informed.
"I'm a hybrid too." I declared before I ripped his heart out. Damon then appeared behind him.
"There's way too many of these around here." Damon commented.
Once we got inside, Damon tried to beat on the coffin with a shovel.
"Do you really think I didn't try that?" I asked. "Did you bury the body?"
"Yeah, any sign of your little hybrid buddies?" He replied.
"They're not my friends." I argued. I didn't even know any of them.
"Well Rebekah has six siblings." Damon stated. "Nik is with her. One died in the Old World and one in the New World. That leaves Kol and two others. There are three sleeping Originals and four coffins."
"I knew all of that." I declared. I wasn't sure why he felt the need to say it. "We need to know who is in here. Bonnie thinks that it can be used as a weapon against Rebekah. After she opens it, we'll know if she's right or not."
"You would think that witches that could make a coffin invisible would know how to OPEN IT." Damon replied, shouting the last part to the witches. He predictably got no response. "Fine. Be that way."
"You know this won't work if Rebekah's pets find our hiding spot." I stated as I walked away from him. "We need to get rid of them."
"Why don't you just ask her to move?" Damon quipped. "How about you be a good little doggy and don't draw attention to the thing that we're trying to hide."
"I am not a dog and I'm not going to lie down like one." I argued. "I have what Rebekah wants. She can do what I say or I spread her family to the deepest depths of the globe."
"Then she'll kill you and everyone you know, including our mother and most importantly: me." He pointed out.
"She's bluffing." I stated. "She wants her family more than anything else. I'm going to call her bluff to see where that gets us."
"Wait, Sara." He responded. "Calling someone's bluff includes being willing to lose everything if you're wrong."
I didn't say anything and just walked away. I was not going to let her win.
I went to the new house that Rebekah was building. It seemed like it was bigger than ours. She just had to have the best of everything. I stood against one of the beams with my arms crossed.
"I'm surprised that you're still here." She stated. "I set you free. You could have gone anywhere."
"This is my home, Rebekah." I said.
"Well if we're playing that game, then I was here first." She pointed out as she grabbed a bottle of beer.
"I don't like your pets." I declared. "They are everywhere…like fleas. Get them out of here."
"Must you be so hateful of your own kind?" She challenged. "I happen to like having them around. They listen to me unlike some people that I know. You know what hurts? I hoped that we could be best friends and lovers again after I freed you, but instead you're downing vervain like the rest of them."
"Friends don't strip friends of their free will." I replied.
"Okay…that was a bit of a bitch move." She agreed. "But I have mood swings. Just ask my siblings. Speaking of which, I think it's time you returned them to me."
"Rebekah, get your pets out of Mystic Falls, or I will euthanize them." I declared as I got in her face. I knew that she liked her personal space.
"You know you really have to get over your self-loathing. They're hybrids, just like you." She pointed out. "Besides, if you keep threatening me, I'll have to kill people and we don't want that."
"You shouldn't assume what I want." I told her. "Maybe I'll raise your threat. Maybe I'll put Kol in the Amazon River."
"Maybe I'd be willing to lose one brother in exchange for killing yours." She retorted.
"Then make a move." I dared.
"Is everything okay?" One of the pets asked.
"Everything's fine, Mindi." Rebekah told her. It was time for me to strike. "Sara was just leaving."
"Yes, everything's fine, Mindi." I said before I took my knife and cut her head off. "That's one. Now get rid of the rest of them or I will."
It would be very messy to get rid of all of them. I headed back to the witch house to plan my next move. I still wasn't ready to go back home yet. I was pretty sure that Rebekah wouldn't listen to me unless I took more drastic measures. I also had to figure out just how important to her the pets were. Did she truly care about them? I didn't know if she was capable of caring for anyone.
When I got back to the house, I found that someone was waiting for me. It wasn't the person that I expected it to be. I probably should have considering who she was.
"What are you doing here?" I asked my mother.
"There's a fundraiser for the Wickery Bridge Restoration Project tonight." She explained.
"Okay." I stated. I didn't know what any of that had to do with me.
"Your brother's going to be there and I want you to come with me." She declared. I hated going to stuff like that.
"I don't have a dress." I lied.
"There's some back at the house." She said. "You also seem to think that you have a choice in whether or not you're coming."
"What's the point of going?" I asked.
"The point is we are one of the Founding Families it's important for us to be involved in our community." She stated. I was pretty sure that she had said the same thing to Damon when we were younger.
That night, I found myself in a knee-length dress with a strapless metallic bodice and black skirt and black heels. If I didn't love my mother, I wouldn't have gone. We met up with Damon when we got there.
When I got there, I couldn't but nothing that Rebekah was there and she was chatting up the mayor.
"I thought there was a sign on the door saying no dogs allowed." Damon commented. I kicked him in the leg in response.
"Don't mind my son." Mom stated.
"Sara, Marianna, it's good to see you." Rebekah stated before she kissed my mom's hand. I was a little bit nervous, but I didn't expect her to bite her in the middle of the house. I had to do my best not to sweat.
"We were just discussing if your family would be the night's big benefactor." Carol declared. "Rebekah has agreed to a very generous donation."
"Carol, don't take this the wrong way but do you realize you've been kissing the ass of the hybrid who ruined your son and my sister's lives?' Damon asked. How exactly was she supposed to take that? Was there a right way to take it?
"You could argue that I saved them." Rebekah replied. "No longer are they slaves of the sun or the moon and your sister doesn't have to wear that gaudy ring anymore."
"Rebekah has promised to protect Tyler, Damon, and our town." Carol stated.
"She's the dangerous one here." I pointed out. "You and your pets are causing all of the trouble."
"Maybe if you would return my family to me we wouldn't have that problem." She retorted. I said nothing. "That's what I thought. So the mayor and I have come to an agreement. You stay out of my hair and the people of this town will suffer no harm from me. All you have to do is stop decapitating my friends."
I was going to say that they weren't her friends, but I knew that no one wanted to see us get into a catfight in front of everyone.
"Please, Sara, stop all of this or we'll be forced to take action." Carol said. You had to be kidding me.
"Yes, Darling, give peace a chance." Rebekah added. I still hated when she called me that because it still made me feel weird. Despite the fact that my humanity had been off, she had still been very loving to me and only compelled me at the very end. It was basically the opposite of what had gone on with Katherine.
At the same time, I was also pissed off. She had the mayor eating out of her hand. I couldn't help but wonder if she had managed to compel her somehow. I knew that she had done it at Homecoming. I would definitely have to take more drastic measures. I then had an idea. There was one thing more important to her than her family and that was her ability to make hybrids. She needed one specific thing in order to do that and maybe if I threatened to take that away from her she would heed to my demands.
I just had to figure out where she was. I then remembered that I had a good way to find anyone, or at least young people and that was Facebook. Leah was still friends with me for some reason and I assumed that Elena would be with her. I read her feed and turned out that she was at a birthday party at the cemetery. That was weird even for them.
"I have to go." I told my mom. She probably assumed that it wasn't good for Rebekah and I to be in the same room.
I then made my exit and headed to get my car. I wished that I had time to change my shoes but I didn't. I really hated driving in heels. I headed to the cemetery and found out that the birthday party was for Caroline. I still didn't understand why it was at the cemetery, but that was beside the point.
I waited for Elena to come outside. I needed a chance to get to her. I saw her walk out with Leah. It wasn't the ideal situation, but I supposed to make an omelet, I would have to break a few necks. I ran over and snapped the blonde's neck before grabbing Elena and buckling her into my car. It probably wasn't necessary, but it made it harder for her to jump out.
"What are you doing, Sara?" She asked as her phone rang. I grabbed it before she could answer it.
"Hello, Jeremy, she's a little busy right now." I answered.
"Why do you have Elena's phone?" He asked me
"I'm making my next move." I told him. "Tell me. What's Rebekah going to do if she can't make any more hybrids?"
"What?" Elena responded.
"Sara, leave her alone." Jeremy ordered. I just hung up and threw the phone out the window.
"What the fuck?" Elena questioned. "Sara, let me out of the car. Let me out right now!"
It was cute that she thought I would listen to her. I only started to drive faster. I would need to get my phone out soon. I wished that I had one of those sync systems, but I didn't know if it was possible with a car like the one I had.
"So, what is your plan, Sara?" Elena replied. "What is the goal you're trying for."
"I took Rebekah's family so she would suffer. I'm not letting her make a new one." I explained.
"Well what are you going to do? Are you going to lock me up and keep me hostage?" She asked.
"Maybe I'll just kill you." I suggested as I turned to look at her. I probably wouldn't unless I absolutely needed to.
"Stop the car, Sara! STOP THE FUCKING CAR, SARA" She yelled. I just took out my phone and began to scroll through the contacts. I then put it on speaker so I could focus on driving.
"Sara, Darling, it's so good to hear from you." Rebekah declared.
"Tell your hybrids to get out of town, Rebekah." I ordered.
"Okay, get out of town and give me my family back." She retorted.
"That doesn't work on me." I stated. "It looks like I'm going to have to drive your blood source off Wickery Bridge."
"I don't believe you, Sara." Rebekah declared. "You won't kill her. That would ruin any chance of Jeremy ever wanting you back."
I decided to bite into my wrist and fed my blood into her mouth. I was glad that no one else was on the road because the car swerved.
"What are you doing?" Elena asked.
"What just happened?" Rebekah added.
"I just gave her my blood." I stated. "You can't turn anyone else if she is a vampire."
"You're not going to do it." Rebekah remarked.
"Wanna bet?" I challenged. "After I'm done with this, your coffins are next. Say goodbye to your family, Rebekah."
We reached the bridge and I changed gears. I was really hoping that she would relent soon because I didn't want to actually do it. Elena seemed to think that I would do it. All she had to do was agree and I would stop. Elena started to cry out for me to stop. She was terrified.
"Fine, I'll do it." Rebekah agreed. "You win. I'll send them away. Stop the car, Sara!"
I slammed on the breaks right before the break in it. Elena was breathing heavily and I heard her hang up. Elena got out of the car. I knew I needed to follow after her.
"Elena, get in the car." I stated.
"Get away from me, you bitch." She replied. "My parents died on this bridge. I almost died. You saved me. You think this is what Jeremy wants?"
"I wasn't actually going to do it." I explained.
"What are you trying to get from this? Why are you trying to kill Rebekah? You're not doing it for Jenna or Dana or anyone else? You just want to do it for yourself. Yes, she made you kill people and turned you into a hybrid, but she let you go. She let you go, Sara! You need to let it go. Stop pushing people away and let it go!" She replied.
"I don't care what you think about me, Elena." I said before I got in the car and drove off. I did feel pretty bad for it and I knew that she would tell Jeremy about it. I imagined everyone would be either mad or disappointed in me, except for maybe Damon.
I headed back to the only place that I could call hone. I had messed up. I made a terrible decision that probably severed all ties with everyone except for Damon and my mother because they had to love me. I started to cry on the steps a little. It was there that Damon found me. He was probably coming to check up on me.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I made a mistake." I declared before I explained what I had done to him. "I don't know if anyone will ever speak to me again."
"Of course they will." Damon replied. "If these people can forgive me for all that I've done, they can definitely forgive you."
"But I've never done anything this bad before." I pointed out.
"You've done worse." He stated. "All you know was psychologically torment a young girl by taking her to the place her parents died. You do need to answer me truthfully. Why do you really want to kill Rebekah."
I did know the answer, but I wasn't going to admit that to Damon.
"I don't know." I lied.
"Well you need to find that out." He declared.
So, it's been a very long time since I updated this. Since then some of the things in this story have become true. While I did like Sarah, their mother was terribly done and the show has basically gone to hell. So what is Sara's reason for wanting to kill Rebekah? Please don't forget to review.
