Well, I'm back. Anyway, I decided that (spoiler) it'll be a three-way. Don't complain, just enjoy.
I sat under a tree, dozing off as I slowly began imagining a clash between Sword and Saber.
A clash of leader-caliber swordsmen, huh…?
I knew that my skills weren't going to get as good as theirs overnight, so I began walking towards the training hall.
Speaking of my swords, I wonder if Ruby's ever figured out how to fit my swords into Alternate Echo….
Taking my thought off of it, I walked into the locker room, immediately finding my locker as I quickly opened it, pulling my weapons out. Fortunately, all of my swords were there. Unfortunately, they weren't in the same sheath. Really inconvenient.
With a groan, I pulled off of them out, inspecting Alternate Echo, quickly coming up with an idea of how I'd fit four swords into one sheath.
That'll have to wait, though.
"Hey, Lima," I called out, "Can you get Sierra to the training hall?"
"Hey, Lima."
The Faunus girl's ear perked up at the sound of Delta's call.
"Can you get Sierra to the training hall?"
Standing up, she skipped over to Sierra, who was studying on her bed, giving her a poke. Sierra looked up, setting her pencil down as Lima said, "Delta…training hall…now…."
"…what the fuck, D…," Sierra cussed, rolling onto her back as she stood up. Stretching, she grabbed her spare knife strap hidden under her bed, she decided that she would go and teach him a lesson for calling her during her study time. Walking over to the door, she turned back and said, "Be back in a bit."
Lima nodded, going back to her knitting as the door closed.
"Okay, what's up, D," Sierra asked, walking into the training hall. I smiled, watching his leader as she walked up to him, clearly a little, if not seriously, ticked off. Chuckling, I drew the two swords from Alternate Echo, working my aura into my new swords as they floated out of their sheaths. Sierra raised an eyebrow as I said, "I want to brush up with this."
"Your semblance?"
"Yeah," I replied, "my sem-BLANCE!"
I threw one of my swords at her, seeing her disappear. I immediately moved one of my new swords to my back, hearing an audible "CLANG" as I turned around, seeing Sierra with a knife up against the blade of my new sword as I sent the second sword at her, seeing her disappear again. This time, I teleported to the sword I had thrown earlier, feeling Sierra's aura behind me. Looking up, I ducked as the second of my new swords came flying towards me. I could hear Sierra gasp as the sound of grinding metal filled the air. I raised one of the swords in my hands, swinging at midair behind me as the sound of Sierra's boots hitting the ground filled the air behind me.
"Gotcha," I said.
"What?"
"I said," I repeated, turning around, "'Gotcha.'"
Sierra raised an eyebrow, slowly turning around as she saw a glint of purple behind her. Her eyes widened as she saw the first of my new swords floating behind her. I couldn't help but grin as she turned back to me, glaring at me, then sighing as she walked up to me and said, "…good work, then."
Just then, she tapped my forehead with the butt of the knife she was holding as she continued, "Now get your ass back to HQ and finish your homework."
I watched on as Ruby swung Crescent Rose gracefully, dodging to and fro, forcing Dagger to give chase as she seemingly taunted her.
Dagger, getting a little frustrated at this point, threw one of her daggers at Ruby, who easily dodged it as Dagger charged, rematerializing the weapon back into her hands. Ruby simply jumped over the younger girl, landing on her feet. However, Dagger suddenly stopped on the dime, throwing her dagger back at the older girl who had her back to her opponent.
Ruby turned around, her eyes widening in surprise as she took the blow, staggering a bit as Dagger threw her second dagger.
Suddenly, a cloud of roses filled the air where Ruby was standing as she appeared behind the younger girl, her scythe over her shoulders as Dagger's aura suddenly shattered, dropping down to zero. Ruby jumped up and down, purely out of joy, as she quickly made her way back up to us. I gave her a high five as Ms. Goodwitch asked, "Who will be next?"
The class suddenly went silent.
A cricket chirped in the background as she looked around, about to open her mouth to speak until Saber's familiar voice yelled, "I choose to fight Delta and Sword!"
I raised an eyebrow, seeing said man walking down the aisle. I looked at Sword, who looked just as surprised as Saber made his way down to the arena. Sword then shot a look at me as I shrugged in reply.
"Ordance, Alters," Ms. Goodwitch called.
With a sigh, I stood up, as did Sword, as we made our way to the arena.
"Saber Steelcore, Sword Alters, and Delta Ordance…," Ms. Goodwitch declared, albeit reluctantly, "This will be a three-way bout, gentlemen."
I picked up my intensity as we all took several steps away from each other, trying to stare each other down.
I don't want to have to do this….
I looked at Sword as he did to me. My sword handles clicked as I reached back, cloaking my new swords with my aura in case I truly did need them as Sword reached for his own weapon. I then shot a glance at Saber from the corner of my eye, seeing his bastard sword glowing blue.
Just like I remember it.
"Yo."
The surrounding area turned gray as Sierra said, "Take it easy, now."
"Noted," I replied as she disappeared.
"BEGIN!"
Almost out of impulse, both Sword and I dashed right at Saber, who appeared to have been caught off guard at our action as we both took him out. He gawked at the sudden attack, Sword going high while I went low, as we finished our follow through, sending him flying to the back wall. We both stood still for a moment, waiting for the dust cloud to disappear.
Suddenly, the cloud began to give a blue hue.
I widened my eyes in surprise, pushing Sword out of the way as a shockwave of aura came flying at me. I waved my new swords around, putting just enough momentum behind them to cut the wave in half as I braced for him jumping out of the dust cloud. A streak of dust came dashing at me as I raised my swords, feeling his blade connect with my own as I went flying back. I waved my swords back towards me, catching him off guard as they both stabbed his back. Catching the ground, I skidded to a stop as my swords continued cutting at him. I charged him, nailing him with the first of my swords in my hands as I spun around for a combo, nailing the second, then did an uppercut, sending him airborne. My two swords then went to make mincemeat out of him as I raised my hand, having them attack, waving my hand down and having them stab the ground with him.
Saber let out a cough, suddenly jumping back to his feet as he swung at me, catching me on my right humorous as I went flying to the left. I waved my two swords back as they flew upwards, landing next to me as I regained my footing, looking up to see Saber in my face as his sword moved in slow motion at me. I widened my eyes in shock as he grinned.
Suddenly, Sword pulled him by the back of his shirt, throwing him backwards.
Saber regained his footing just as quickly as the two exchanged blows, Sword with one hand, Saber with two. Honestly, Sword looked more like the natural swordsman as Saber's runes began to glow. I widened my eyes, sending my swords back to knock his blade down as he swung, just making it in time to slam his sword down to the ground.
The sound of metal tearing apart filled the arena as Sword jumped backwards, sheathing his sword, exploding out of his stance. He went straight for Saber's chest, nailing a good one as I ran up to him, my swords still holding his weapon down. However, Saber suddenly leaned back into my slash, causing me to unintentionally hit Sword, who went flying backwards. I turned back, only to get a fist to the face as Saber jumped over my swords, effectively sending them flying away as I scrambled to my feet, cutting the shockwaves flying towards me in half. I could hear them exploding behind me as I waved my arms back, getting the two swords that were flung away back to me as I took in a breath, taking a quick breather.
He's gotten better….
I shot a quick peek at the jumbotron, seeing that Saber was three-quarters of the way finished. I was at half.
Dammit…!
I grit my teeth as he raised his sword up to me, almost taunting me. I held back my urge to charge him, intensifying my aura as my swords began to rattle with excitement. I couldn't help but feel exhilarated at the feeling of using my semblance to its fullest for the first time ever.
"Heh…."
I raised an eyebrow in surprise as did Saber.
"Heh…hehe…."
I turned around, seeing Sword back up on his feet. His face sported a grin as he slowly walked up to me. I was about to ask him what was wrong until he suddenly swung his sword at me. Reflexively, I leaned back, seeing that he had cut some hair as I landed back first on the ground. I then rolled out of the way of his stabs, slashing at the ground as I jumped up back onto my feet. However, Sword got right back into my face, exchanging blows with me as we locked weapons. I grit my teeth, willing my swords to attack him just to get him off of me.
However, I suddenly saw Saber's sword flying right at me, causing me to disengage and jump backwards.
This is gonna be tough….
I looked at Sword, then Saber, who appeared to be muttering something under his breath. Sword maintained his maniacal grin as they both began to approach me, causing me to grit my teeth as I tried thinking of a way out of the situation.
Suddenly, the sound of aura shattering filled the air.
I blinked in confusion as Saber's eyes widened. He slowly turned around as Sword began walking up to me. Saber opened his mouth to speak, only for Sword to say, "He's my prey…."
Saber opened his mouth again to argue, only for Sword to turn around, seemingly offended as the two began to argue it out. I rolled my eyes, walking up to Sword. I dropped the two swords in my hand, cloaking them with my aura as I snapped my fingers. Sword turned around, only get pierced by all four of my swords.
"This bout is over," Ms. Goodwitch declared, "Delta Ordance is the winner."
The arena was quickly filled with a standing ovation as I sighed, bringing my swords back into their sheaths.
"Well," I said to Sword, "Your semblance is useful for something at least…."
Said swordsman seemingly held back from hitting me as he punched his forehead. I raised an eyebrow in curiosity as he dropped his fist, shaking his head as he said, "…I guess…more of a pain in the ass, though…."
I paid no attention to Saber, who was apparently frozen in place at the series of events that had just gone through. I sighed, looking at him as I said, "You look like you just saw a ghost or something."
Suddenly, the arena doors flew open.
General Ironwood came walking through and stated, "Saber Steelcore, you have failed the re-admittance test."
Saber simply nodded, lowering his head in disappointment. I could tell that Dagger was concerned, considering said man was her brother. Saber began slowly walking up to the general, albeit slowly as his aura levels dropped to that of depression.
"…Saber."
Saber turned around to face me.
I stuck a hand out to him, catching him off guard as I said, "Let's go at it again someday…one-on-one."
With a sigh, he reluctantly took my hand. More out of respect than out of friendship. I never did become friends with him. Sword did the same as Saber repeated the action, except this time he said, "Take care of them."
"I will," Sword replied as Saber took off.
Even if we don't see eye to eye…I think…this will be the last of him that I'll be seeing anytime soon.
Phew! That was actually pretty intense for me!
Well, I've honestly been wondering if I should post this story in a community. I dunno...should I? Well, I don't really care, I'm just wondering if I should. Anyway, laters!
