Chapter Seventeen
Author's Note: This isn't story related, but I had to mention it anyway. I wasn't old enough to remember the Ultimate Warrior's career(I remember a couple bits pieces from a few matches, but nothing major), but watching the clips they showed in the HOF video and then hearing people talk about him in the HOF video package; and then of course, Linda's induction speech... then his acceptance speech(which I actually watched from my phone, at work because I work overnight on Saturday night's from 12A-6A, so thank you WWE Network for not letting me miss that) and then of course his in-ring speech on RAW last Monday... I'm glad I got a chance to witness all of that. I wish I could remember more of his career, but I can only remember what I've watched via WWE Network and youtube. It's just so sad how we *literally* live in a here today, gone tomorrow world. I mean, Warrior was literally here on Monday and gone on Tuesday; and the saddest part of all is the fact he left behind two severely young daughters and a took me all day Tuesday and most of Wednesday to actually wrap my head around the whole thing. It's just so surreal. We were watching him Monday, and on Wednesday we wake up to the news from Triple H that he's gone. Just so, so surreal.
Anyway, before I ramble anymore, let me get to my point in even mentioning this here, I'm mentioning it here just to say remember how sad and cruel life can be. If you have something you want to tell someone, TELL THEM; if you want to hug someone, HUG THEM; and most of all, make sure you tell your loved ones you love them EVERY DAY no matter what. Even if you're mad at them, still tell them you love them because tomorrow is NOT guaranteed and if you don't do it, you may end up regretting it.
Alright, anyway, sorry I rambled. Now, onto Chapter Seventeen! This one gets a little more into their past relationship and lets you see Chasity's attraction for Jon just a wee little bit. ;)
Chasity woke up the next morning to the sun hitting her directly in the face. Realizing she was lying on top of someone. She put her hand up to block the sun out of her face as she opened her eyes and tilted her head back. Looking up, she saw Jon had fallen asleep with her. He had apparently readjusted their positioning at some point and as a result she was lying in his arms; which were now locked securely around Chasity's slowly expanding waist line.
Chasity laid there in Jon's embrace for several minutes trying to think of a way to get out of his hold without waking him up. The more she thought about it, the more she realized his grip was way too tight to escape without waking him. Sighing, she knew she'd have to wake him because she had to get up and use the bathroom. For such a tiny little thing Kaleb sure felt a lot bigger when he was lying against her bladder. Gently shifting within his embrace, Chasity was now facing Jon at an awkward angle. "Jon," Chasity gently called, shaking his arm softly. "Jon, I have to get up," she called again, a little louder this time as she shook his arm a little harder trying to rouse him from his slumber.
Jon woke up to Chasity shaking his arm and calling his name. He groaned as the sun hit him in the face. "Why," he questioned.
"I have to pee; Kaleb is lying against my bladder." Jon chuckled and released his hold on her.
"That was a little more than I needed, or wanted to know, but thanks," Jon shook his head. "Come right back when you're done." Chasity nodded and walked to the bathroom.
Chasity finished up in the bathroom and returned to the living room, but Jon was back to snoring. She shook her head and chuckled quietly. While she had the energy to do so, she decided to make some breakfast.
Finding and pulling out the makings for bacon and eggs, Chasity quickly got to work cooking it. Within minutes it was finished cooking and she scoured Jon's cabinets until she found his plates. Snagging two of them, she placed equal amounts of food on each plate then went in search of plastic wrap or tin foil to wrap Jon's plate in to keep it semi-warm until he finally woke up. Finding tin foil in his cabinet below the sink, she quickly wrapped his plate and placed it in the microwave. It wasn't often Jon got to sleep in, or eat a home cooked meal, so she wanted to make sure he was able to sleep in without his breakfast going cold before he got to it.
She found a fork in one of the drawers before grabbing her plate and walking out to the living room. Grabbing the remote off the coffee table she sat in Jon's recliner and turned the TV on. Flipping to the TLC channel she started eating as she listened to some woman explain her pregnancy story on the show "A Baby Story." She'd found herself watching this show a lot since she had decided she was going to keep Kaleb. She wanted to see if the show could give her any hints or clues of how to handle labor and delivery as well as a newborn after the baby was born. She knew it wouldn't tell her everything; only hands on parenting would do that, but she knew any hints she could pick up would certainly help her down the road.
Jon heard random, strange noises as he re-awoke from his impromptu nap. He hadn't meant to fall back to sleep before Chasity had come back from the bathroom, but he couldn't help it; he was tired. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, Jon sat up and looked at the TV. The image on the screen made his stomach turn. Given his Indy days, and the amount of blood he lost and forced his opponents to lose he wasn't usually squeamish, but whatever Chasity was watching was making him quite queasy. Jon quickly pulled his attention off the TV and focused on Chasity. Last thing he wanted was to puke. "What are you watching," Jon asked, startling Chasity.
"Holy shit, Jon! Don't do that," Chasity bellowed.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, but what the hell is this? It looks absolutely disgusting." Chasity chuckled.
"You are the same guy that use to bleed profusely and force your opponent to bleed just as much on an almost nightly basis, right," Chasity questioned, locking eyes with him. Jon nodded.
"Yes, but whatever you're watching clearly has a lot more to it than just blood." Chasity shrugged.
"The show is called "A Baby Story"," she took a bite of her breakfast. "I've been watching it for any hints about how to handle labor and delivery as well as how to care for a newborn after the hospital stay ends. I can turn the channel if you want," she told him, reaching for the remote. Jon shook his head.
"No, you can watch this, I'm going to take a shower," Jon told her as he got up and headed for the bathroom.
"Okay. Oh, by the way, I left you a plate of bacon and eggs in the microwave wrapped in tin foil," Chasity called down the hall after him.
"Awesome, thanks. I'll eat it as soon as I get done my shower," Jon responded before disappearing, towel in hand, into the bathroom.
Once he had completely disappeared into the bathroom, Chasity went back to watching her show and eating the rest of her breakfast. The apartment remained fairly quiet, with the exception of the TV and the running water; that is until Jon shut the shower off. Getting out he quickly dried off and wrapped his towel around his waist before exiting the bathroom. He was hoping Chasity's show would be over by the time he finished getting dressed.
Chasity heard Jon shut the water off and open the door to come out of the bathroom. Not thinking anything of it she looked up just in time to see him walk by the living room on his way to his bedroom in nothing but the towel she'd seen him take into the bathroom. Before she could get a hold of herself a gasp managed to slip passed her lips. Hearing the noise, Jon doubled back toward the living room to check on her. "You okay," he questioned, some concern evident in his voice. Afraid her voice would crack and give her away Chasity just nodded her head as Jon shrugged and continued walking to his bedroom to get dressed.
Chasity knew Jon was good looking, she'd seen him shirtless plenty of times; including before he took his shower. But she'd never seen him in just a towel with water droplets dripping down his bare chest and his hair soaked and sticking to his forehead. At least, not that she could remember. She knew they'd had a few drunken encounters when they were younger, but she couldn't really remember any of them, so if the shower and a towel were involved she was unaware of it.
She wasn't sure if this reaction was due to her pregnancy hormones, or if it ran deeper than that, but she did know she couldn't let Jon know about this; at least not until she could figure out what the hell was going on, and why she'd suddenly had that kind of a reaction to him. She didn't want to lead him on, or risk ruining their newly rejuvenated friendship over something like this if it was just lust due to her pregnancy hormones. So for now, she'd do her best to control herself and not let him catch on to any weird behavior.
But Chasity would quickly find out it would prove to be a lot more difficult than it initially sounded.
