Chapter 10
Yoo, how y'all doing? I know, I know, you all have the right to be angry with me. I haven't been updating at all. It's almost been a year since I started writing this fanfic and I 've only written 9 chapters. This is so embarrassing. I promise, no matter how long it takes to finish this fanfic, I'm hell bent on finishing it. And then I also have to finish 'How history repeated itself" As well and I have a third fanfic I want to upload. It's human one. I have always adored reading human fanfics because there's no magic, they have normal jobs and Roza and Dimka can have kids ;) hahah. That is honestly like the main reason I love them sooo much. But I have to finish the 2 I've already started before I start on another one.
I got to watch the movie about 2 weeks ago with my friends who've all read the books. Their most frequent statement was 'What? This wasn't in the book! What the hell?!" hahaha. It was good and really funny. DIMITRI HAS THE MOST HOTTEST ACCENT EVER I JUST WANTED TO JUMP OUT KISS HIM ALL OVER HIS SEXY FACE.
OH AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 15K HITS ON THIS. WHAT? HOW. IDK. BUT I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL SOULS WHO HAVE READ THIS BECAUSE IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME. I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH XOXOX
Disclaimer – I do not own Vampire Academy.

No, why would you do such inhumane thing? Give up your soul for immortality, give up all your senses to become a hideous creature and the main character of all children's horror stories?
As I stared into her blue orbs, I swear I stopped breathing as I saw Christian trying to blink the tears away.
"Why would you do such a horrid thing, Tasha? Could honestly not have been a normal person? Not for yourself, but at least for your nephew?!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Even the Christian and I had our moments; I still love him like my brother. After losing his parents, I couldn't bear to think what he must be thing to see his aunt turn Strigoi.
Tasha turned her head towards, so I could finally see the red rings around her beautiful blue orbs. Tasha wasn't actually a bad person. I forgave her for what hell she made my life. She killed Tatiana, people believed it was me because we both didn't exactly have the best relationship and I didn't blame them either, but after some evidence, it was proven that Tasha was the real murder.
I still remember that day like it was yesterday. We all had lost a friend that day, but Christian lost his role model, his only family.
To say I felt disgusted by this would the understatement of the year. Christian tried to talk her out of this, obviously that didn't work.
"I'm actually happy that I did change. Christian do you have any what it feels like to be power? All our lives we've been downgraded because of your parents. Now I know why your parents did what they did. It's beautiful. You have this new sense of life. I love it. And I'm sure you will too". With every second passing by, I knew I had to do something.
Without thinking I jumped on Tasha, putting on as much weight as possible to bring her down. Thinking she was going to come down, only she didn't. I forgot how fast their reflexes could be. She immediately spun around and pinned me to the ground. Her fangs grazing over my neck my breathing hitched.
"Hmm" She said as she licked neck. I had a tight grasp on the stake but her heart was not even close. "You have been fed off before, haven't you? Of course you have, how would've Lissa survived 2 years? Am I right?" I craved it. I felt disgusted. I remember when Dimitri fed off me a couple of months ago. It was blissful. The Moroi did not have the power of a strigoi bite.
As soon as it started, it finished. Tasha didn't bite me, but she was off of me in flash. She sprinted out the door to make her escape especially when I was at my lowest and Christian was tied to chair, I figured. I quickly scrambled to my feet and quickly untied Christian.
Where the hell were the guardians? And why did not anyone hear us? As if cue, Eddie sprinted into the room with a silver stake in his right hand, dishevelled hair, his grey pyjamas and no shirt. Mia hot on his heels in her robe.
"What happened?!" Eddie's eyes widened in shock. After quickly explaining what happened just a few moments ago, I rushed to Lissa's aid.
"Lissa? Lissa open your eyes" I huffed lightly tapping her cheek. On the outside I must seem very calm and collected. But on the inside, I was flipping. I feel like I'm going to lose her. I couldn't. No, she was my family and the person who's known me my whole, I'm not going to give up on her.
Few moments passed by before her eyes fluttered and we got to see her green orbs. Relief washed over me as I wrapped my arms around her neck.
"Don't you ever do that again. At least you could've told me through the bond" I growled as I fought back tears. I could feel her weak hands tighten around my back, her tears rolling down my neck.
"I'm sorry, I just thought you were sleeping and-"
"Liss, no, I'm your guardian. I'm supposed to look out for you. Not the other way around. And anyways, I'm fully capable of taking care of myself". We all laughed at the stupid thought of me being able to look after myself.
Compelling the staff behind the desk, we made our escape from the hotel. We couldn't be seen, especially after all the strigoi bodies. That reminded me, I had to call my alchemist friend, Sydney Sage to clean up the bodies. I quickly borrowed Lissa's phone, and called the memorized number that has saved my ass a few times.
"Hello?" Sydney's voice came through the other end in a very sophisticated manner.
"Sydney? Hi, um, it's Rose"
"Rose? Rose! Where the hell have you been? Where are you? Are you still in Russia or the States.." The questions went on until I couldn't take it anymore.
"Sydney! Calm down and breathe. I'm in Russia. Are you in Omsk?"
"No, I'm in Novosibirsk. Why, another strigoi clean up?" Sydney guessed. In the short time we spent together, she knows me really well.
"Uh, yea" I could hear her stifle a laugh.
"Ok, I'll send someone. Oh and Rose?"
"Yeah?"
"Try not to get yourself killed? Bye" She never ceased to amaze me.
Laughing, I gave Lissa back her phone. I realised that it was night and we needed to go somewhere to stay the night. Leaving for Novosibirsk at this unholy hour would be risky. We walked around a bit, until we found a small motel, located in one of the alley's, away from the heart of Omsk.
Lissa compelled the manager to make her believe that would be staying the night as complimentary guests because we know someone whose related to her something along the lines of that. Yes, its very confusing, but just enough to compel the manager.
The room wasn't that big, but it was good enough. We decided that its better to have us girls in one room where as Christian and Eddie share a room. We had also gotten the other 4 guardians that came with us 2 rooms that they could share. Lissa and Mia would share the bed and I would sleep on the couch.
"Rose, are you sure? I mean we could swap?" Lissa and her guilty conscious can seriously get on my nerve sometimes. It frustrating.
"Lissa, just get into your bed before I knock you out" She sighed as she shaked her head at me, but nonetheless, she got into bed.
Next Morning
It's hard getting used to the human schedule when you've lived on nocturnal schedule your whole life. It's tiring and I didn't get any sleep.
We all got up and ready to leave. The manager was a bit fazed from last night's compulsion. She was really confused, but didn't say anything.
Guardians had the black SUV, courtesy of the Royal Court in Russia. We had 2 cars. On which carried Lissa, Christian, Guardian Cooper, Guardian Plum and myself. Where as the other 2 guardians, Mia and Eddie travelled in the other one. As it was a seven seater, Christian and Lissa raided the seats 3 seats, so I had the whole of the back seat to myself for much needed sleep.
When I woke up later, I noticed that Lissa and Cooper weren't in the car, but Christian and Plum were. They must've heard me trying to put my shoes on as Christian turned his head to face mine.
"She's in the toilets" Christian told me as he pointed towards the direction. That's when I noticed we had stopped at a gas station. It was pretty deserted. There were only 2 available pumps and the other SUV was right behind us. I entered the through the automatic doors, my stomach growled at the sight of food. I saw Cooper near the newspaper section. I had luckily bought my earpiece, so I knew what dangerous where outside.
As Lissa and Mia exited the bathrooms, I heard some shuffling through the earpiece. I heart quickened as my breathing became shallow. Until I realized it was wind. There was nothing to be scared of Rose, I told myself. It was daylight. We'll be fine. We're only halfway there. I looked at the time, it was 10:30 A.M. We left at 6:30 A.M. We should be in Novosibirsk by 1:30, I think.
We all decided to get some snacks. Even though we had breakfast, it wasn't enough for me. I needed some more. I have a big appetite and I'm proud of it.
3 hours later we had actually made it to Novosibirsk. I can't believe it. I'm here. Again. Why? To get the love of my life back. Again. Where am I going to start? How am I going to find Dimitri? How? These questions swarmed my mind. I didn't know what to do and what to think. Would I be able to even find Dimitri? Tasha being on the loose didn't exactly my help already bundled nerves.
During the ride to Novosibirsk, I thought of calling Dimitri – obviously not to let him now that I was here, but I'm sure he already guessed it – but to tell him Tasha's plan.
We decided to get 2 rooms for the 4 guardians and 2 rooms for us 5. I fought the sleep that was creeping up as I settled in my chair. As I got up, I swayed a little. I saw Lissa give me a concerned look. I shook my head and hurried to the bathroom.
I gasp escaped my lips as I took in my appearance. No wonder Lissa was so concerned.
My hair was dishevelled, my eyes blood-shot red. I looked like a zombie. And a scary one at that. My sleeping pattern has been messed up and my mind reeling back to my conversation with Dimitri didn't exactly help the matters.
"Rose?" A knock came in followed by Lissa's voice from the other side of the door.
"Come in" The door opened slightly as Lissa's skinny frame came into view.
"Rose, I think you should get some sleep. Don't fight me on this" She stopped me before I could argue.
"We are here with 5 guardians, excluding you, a fire user and a water user, I don't think it's going to harm anyone if you get some shut eye"
I guess it's better not fight her on this
I followed her back outside. Taking off my shoes, I quickly snuggled in to the bed. I was asleep before even my head hit the pillow.
A few hours later I woke up, saliva dripping out of the side of my mouth and making a patch on the pillow.
"Ugh" I sat up in my bed groggily.
"Sleeping beauty awakens" My eyes widened as I took in who it was.
Adrian Ivashkov.
My sleep left almost instantly as I jumped out of the bed and into his waiting arms. His arms encircled around my waist as he picked me up and twirled me around and planting a kiss on my head.
"What did you think? I'd let you go in the crazy adventure to save cradle robber again? Sorry Little Dhampir, but I don't make the same mistake twice" He told me with a grin. Not being able to help myself, I grinned back.
And that's when I realized, how hard it must be for him to see me, the love of life go for someone else. He must've realized the change in my demeanour as I pained look crossed his face. I took a step back sitting back on the bed. I patted my hand on the space next to me. He obliged and sat next to me.
I turned to face him. "Adrian, you have to understand how hard it is for me to tell you th-" he stopped me before I could.
"Shh, Little Dhampir it's okay. I know what you are talking about. I always knew that your heart couldn't be here with me when you'd already given it to cradle robber. I don't blame you. I should've never forced you into this. It's my fault. Forgive me?" My mouth opened agape, trying to figure what just happened. Is he seriously apologizing to me?
"Adrian. What are you saying? I was the one who lead you on! Why are you apolizing?! If there is anyone who should apologize, it should be me" I told him. "Adrian, I'm sorry. I can't do this. I love you, you are my best friend, but I could never love you in that way. I'm so sorry, please forgive me" Tears threatened to spill out, but I held them and blinked to send them away.
"Little Dhampir, I've already forgiven you. I knew you never could have such feelings for me. I just lived on hope that someday you would" Seeing him like this so, so sincere, so vulnerable, it broke my heart into a million pieces.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and holding him close. Even though we weren't together anymore, he would always hold a special place in my heart. I could never let him go. Life would be dull without him.
The ringing of the phone brought us back to reality. It was the hotel phone. In the silence of the room, the ringing seemed really loud.
I rushed to pick it up, who wondering who it might be. "Hello?" No one replied. I asked again, looking up to who was staring at me with a confused expression.
"R-Rozaa" My heart constricted in my chest. My breathing became ragged. No, something was wrong. Why did he sound so weak? It didn't make sense. Unless, no. No, not yet.
"Comrade? Is that you? Dimitri?" My voice turned into a whisper, my brain trying to figure out what happened.
A cackle of laughter came through the phone.
"Aah, how does it feel to see your loved one fighting for their life? Devastating isn't it? Aww, don't cry Rosie" Tasha's voice came in through the side and all I could see was red.
"Tasha let him go. He doesn't even love you! What the hell is wrong with you?" I can't believe this was happening again. Dimitri couldn't turn Strigoi again. That just is not possible.
Another cackle of evil laughter came through as I clenched my fingers into a fist. I was going to punch the wall.
"Have fun looking for your lover boy, Rosemarie" And with that the click of the receiver of being placed came.
Uh oh, what do you think happened to poor Dimka? And isn't Adrian just so sweet? I think I might getting him to meet Sydney! What is tasha upto? Is she going to kill him or turn him? REVIEW PLEASE
