Chapter 18: catching up.
Waking up with a splitting migraine is one thing... Waking up with a splinting migraine and in someone else house was a totally different ball game entirely.
'What the hell?' Danny thought trying to move a little only to be shot down by pain. 'Okay lets not do that again.' he thought when the door opened to the room he was in, standing there by the doorway was Tucker.
"Welcome back to the land of the living Danny you gave us quite a scare." Tucker said walking in with Yugi and Seto at his heels.
"What happened?" Danny asked in a weak voice. His throat felt extremely dry. That's when Yugi handed him a cup of water. "Thanks." Danny muttered.
"You kicked Vlad's ass." Seto stated. "According to you before you passed out, Vlad was riving in pain and shouldn't be bothering us for a while. What in the world did Phantom do to him?"
"I don't know it was all a blur. I can't recall any of it. It was like the second when I sensed Plasmius's presence, I was no longer in control over my own body." replied Danny as he sipped at the water feeling a bit better.
"I was the same way Danny. All I can recall when I came to was me feeding on Seto's blood." Yugi stated.
"I still can't believe what I have seen. Now can you two tell me what the heck is going on." Tucker stated. Both Danny and Yugi let out a soft sigh as they told both Tucker and Seto everything. They had no idea of the perils that the two teens went through because of the spirits of vengeance that reside within their bodies. Danny noticed that he was still holding onto the ecto-ruby staff.
"I believe this belongs to you Tucker." Danny stated handing Tucker the staff which had returned to its previous form. This caused Tucker to look at his friend in confusion.
"But I thought that truly belongs to Phantom." replied Tucker.
"It does but it doesn't." stated Danny in a ghostly voice. Only it wasn't Danny speaking but rather it was Phantom. Danny's once blue eyes had now becoming green. "It is like that with all the items we used to possess. They will be ours when the time is right. But for right now it belongs to those who have found them and possess them." Phantom stated before vanishing from within Danny causing the young teen to sigh out loud.
"I wish that at times they would give us more warning to taking over our bodies. My body still hasn't recovered from what he did during the battle with Vlad." Danny stated.
*Sorry about that Danny. But right now your focus should be on other things like how your friend became Iron Man and how he came to possess my ruby power staff.* Phantom stated to Danny. Danny knew that the ghostly angel had a point.
"All right Tucker you have some explaining to do. Like how come you are Iron Man and how you came to possess that item. The tech I have seen is far beyond anything I have seen in the world. So please tell us what happened." Danny stated earning a light sigh from Tucker.
"It was three years back. I was helping out the army with the war on terror with some weapons that I had designed. After a demonstration we were to head back to base, the Hummer that I was in was attacked. The solders that were with me didn't make it." Tucker paused the room was quite for a minute before he went on. "I was dazed, battered, and bruised. I had lost consciousness after that. When I woke up a few hours later only to find that my heart was hooked up to a car battery. And no I'm not joking. Apparently the weapon that took down the Hummer had been one of my own and a fairly large chunk of shrapnel embedded itself it my chest and was racing to my heart." Tucker stopped so the information could sink in.
"Who hooked your heart to a car battery? And how did it keep the shrapnel from piercing your heart?" Seto asked bewilderment.
"The battery acted like a magnet keeping the shrapnel from sinking any closer to my heart. As to the one who hooked me to a battery, he was a doctor... a surgeon to be precise. If it hadn't been for him I wouldn't be here today. His name was Technus. But any way after Technus had fixed me up I was given the grand tour of our prison and who our captors were and what they wanted me to do. Can any of you guess what that was?" Tucker asked.
"They wanted you to build a missile for them." Danny answered.
"Exactly Danny. Was I going to do it? Hell's no. I played them like the fools they were? You see the car battery would only keep me alive for so long. So I had to improve the missile's they had for me to make them. With the parts I managed to make a mini ark reactor." Tucker said pulling his shirt up showing the group the reactor that sat in the middle of his chest.
"Good GOD." Yugi gasped feeling light headed.
" It took me a month to finishes it. And all the while I had also built the prototype Iron Man armor. It was designed to protect me so I could get us both out of there. But two months after finishing the reactor, our captors got wise to what I was up to and Technus tried to stall them. He was killed as I was already in the suit. I watched it happen I couldn't do anything the suit hadn't powered up yet and when it did all I saw was red. Most of what happened is a blur but while getting out of there hideout I broke more then one door frames and somewhere hidden in the wall was the staff it some how manged to get in my suit. After burning all of the weapons they had I got out of there by flight only problem. I was only airborne for about seven seconds before crashing into a sand dune. That's when I notice the staff I felt like I needed to take it with me. After that I got back home and made the decision to up grade the armor." Tucker ended. Everyone stared at him in complete shock. Danny had no idea about all that had happened to his friend. "Anyways after I had upgraded my armor, I got out of the war business and decided to help people both in and out of armor. It was the media who named me Iron Man. I felt that I owed it to Technus to help people in much of the same way that he did for me."
"Tucker this may sound like a stupid question. But did you get those faxes before or after the incident?" asked Seto. This did raise an important question. Tucker proceeded to scratch his chin deep in thought.
"Jarvis do you have a copy of those faxes?" Tucker asked his computer.
"Certainly sir. The faxes started coming after your accident and when you became Iron Man." replied the computer. This raised even more questions.
*Something is going on. It has something to do with why we have come back and the creation to at least two of the Midnight Sons. Who knows how this will affect some of the other Midnight Sons we have yet to find.* both Phantom and Atem stated in the back of both Yugi's and Danny's mind.

Dragonstar101: Welcome back everyone.
Scrletfyre: Today on the show we are going to speak with Technus, the ghost of technology! *audience claps as Technus fly's in*
Technus: Hello every one it is I, Technus! Master of all things electronic!
Scrletfyre: Welcome to the show Technus. Getting right to the point here, how does it feel to play a good guy for once?
Technus: Well you don't actually get to see me only my name is mentioned.
Dragonstar101: That was my bad. I only put your name is as both Scrlet and I had to figure out how Tucker became Iron Man.
Scrletfyre: And I was the one who suggested that it was you who helped him out in someway.
Technus: Well that makes sense. I guess even a brief shout out is better than nothing.
Dragonstar101: Well at least you are a good sport about the whole thing Technus.
Technus: And why wouldn't I be?
Scrletfyre and Dragonstar101 *in unison*: ...um... Considering you are a ghost who controls technology, you could easily had turned our equipment against us!
Atem and Phantom *shouting backstage, in unison*: Don't give him any ideas! *Technus grinning* Now you have done it! What in the world are we going to do with you two?!
