Week 12 – January 29th

Soon enough, Edward and Winry found themselves back in Resembool, away from the bustling of Rush Valley. It was nice enough to get the peace of being back at home. They were surprised to discover that while they were gone, Pinako had cleared away an old storage room for the babies to share for their nursery. It was small, but perfect.

"Thanks, granny," Winry said with tears in her eyes. The way her moods had been recently, Edward knew they were genuine. "That was so nice of you."

"It's the least I could do," Pinako said. "My great-grandchildren are on the way. Of course I never expected their father to be a bean sprout, but still."

"HEY, I'M TALLER NOW!"

"You're glowing," Edward said from across the room as he stared at Winry reading. The small bump protruding from her stomach was visible through her tight shirt, and Ed found it difficult to control himself from staring at her breasts – which continued to grow every day.

"That's not a glow; it's sweat," Winry said, turning the page in the magazine she was reading. Ed moved from one couch to the other to be closer to her, snuggling up to her. "Did you not just hear me? I'm hot."

"I was thinking we could have a little fun time before the babies arrive," Ed said. "You know – just you and me."

"I know what fun time means," Winry said. "I'm not in the mood."

"You're never in the mood anymore. I think the last time we really did it was our honeymoon."

"You're the one who impregnated me with your spawn!" Winry shouted. "You didn't even think to disclose the fact that TWINS run in your family!"

"I didn't know!" Edward shouted back. "Forget the whole damn thing."

"You don't get to be angry! You're not the one who has heartburn and brown nipples!"

"I'M LEAVING THE HOUSE NOW!"

"GOOD RIDDANCE!"

Edward didn't even know where he was going. He walked until he found himself at parents' graves. He sat in front of them and sighed.

"I don't know how you dealt with women when they were pregnant, dad," Ed spoke to his father's grave. "Maybe mom was different than Winry, but she doesn't even seem to be herself lately. Sometimes I don't think she's the girl I married."

Edward didn't know what he was expecting. It wasn't like his parents could respond to what he was saying, or even hear it for that matter. He sighed, standing. Realizing he had wandered until dark, he headed toward home to see a light blinking from the house.

Ed walked into the house. Winry was nowhere to be found, and he just knew she was still angry with him. He needed to apologize. She was carrying his spawn after all, and they hadn't even talked about kids.

Walking toward their bedroom, Edward noticed the bathroom light was on, and knew for a fact granny was in the basement. He knocked.

"Winry?" he asked.

"Come in," she said in a soft voice. Ed opened the door and saw the bath, full of bubbles, with Winry inside of it. "I cured my hot flashes."

"With a hot bubble bath?" Edward asked. She nodded.

"It doesn't make sense, but it feels nice," Winry said. "Want to join me?"

She didn't need to ask twice. Edward was naked and in the bath, her leaning against his chest, in moments.

"Hey, Winry…" Ed trailed off. "I'm –"

"Me too."
