Chapter 24: the rescue plan
Phantom unfazed allowing Jazz free from his hold. The older young adult turned towards the ghost angel whose flames had changed to become a sadder color like a deep blue color.
"Danny?" she questioned. The ghost angel didn't reply as he moved protectively in front of her as he could sense Atem was loosing control. The young adult looked at the demonic vampire with the same sad eyes. Both Duke and Shriker had reacted trying to calm Atem down.
"Damn it we don't have time for this! Their lives maybe at risk even at this moment." hissed Shriker as he removed his mask along with an eye patch to reveal a young man with thick brown locks as he had one dark brown eye while his other one was the millennium eye. Duke's eyes widened when he saw Shriker's true face.
"Tristan?" he questioned in shock.
"I will explain everything later." he replied as the millennium eye began to glow along with Duke's millennium necklace and Atem's millennium puzzle. A golden light shot out of the eye binding Atem as a magical doorway suddenly opened up revealing both Clockwork in his ghost form and Mahad who was in his dark magician form. They were not alone both Marik and Bakura were with them. Duke's eyes widened considerably when he saw Mahad.
{Its far worse than we fear. He is loosing complete control as I can't even sense his human host. The binding spell of the millennium eye will not hold him for long.} stated Mahad.
*Yugi!* Danny cried out mentally fearing for his friend.
"Phantom I will take care of the girl and explain things to her and our new ally. You must work with Doctor Strange, Wolverine, and Blade to bring him back to his senses before we lose him completely." stated Clockwork. Phantom nodded his head understanding what needed to be done.
*Danny please wait within the void. I am going to use every bit of my power that I possess to bring Atem back to his senses and to save Yugi.* Phantom told Danny mentally as Jazz looked confused at what to do. "Please Jasmine and Shriker go with Clockwork. I can not allow you both to hear my true voice and see my truest form. I know that Doctor Strange can shield himself using his magic. Both Wolverine's healing and Blade's immortality make them immune to what I am about to do. Clockwork will explain everything. Rest assured that I will not rest until we have saved your family Jazmine." stated Phantom. Jazz nodded her head as both her and Shriker left the cabin along with Clockwork. Phantom turned to Marik as he and Mahad chanted a spell to keep the sorcerer supreme safe. Phantom could feel his other half slip silently into the void giving him complete control. Phantom allowed every bit of his power to flow through him changing his form to that of his angelic form but instead of his normal two wings he had a total of six. His eyes glowed brilliantly as he opened up his mouth allowing angelic notes to fill the night. Both Mahad and Marik chanted their spells working with Phantom's angelic powers while both Duke and Bakura feed Atem their combined blood. Phantom was worried what was happening to Atem's human half as he could feel Yugi's light slowly fading. Phantom knew full well what Atem was capable of when he lost control as his powers were far stronger than the angel's own. It was because Atem was born within the realm belonging to the Duel Monsters as he was a part of them as their power were his own. Phantom feared that Atem would call forth the three Egyptian gods and lay waste to the world just to bring back Yugi's grandfather who was also a reincarnated soul of someone he once knew. As the heroes worked to bring Atem back to his senses, Phantom could feel a very familiar angelic pressence fill the room as he could sense the Shadow Realm aiding them to help their lord and master. The angelic power belonged to that of Horakhty, the creator and god of light. He could also feel Uriel's, the angel of vengeance power also adding into the mix. Both angels had used their power to save Atem's human host Yugi before Atem's powers killed him. But Yugi's guiding light was still dim. Phantom's voice grew as the three angel's focused their power on Yugi as they could sense the adding power and prayers belonging to the other Midnight Sons who all held one of the millennium items that they have meet so far. Phantom could feel his powers grow as a brilliant light surrounded both him and Atem. The two spirits of vengeance where forced to change back into their human forms as both Bakura and Duke caught Yugi in their arms. While Mahad and Marik caught Danny. The two humans where completely out cold.
"Are they all right?" asked Bakura.
{Danny is fine, just Phantom completly worn out his powers forcing the change. Yugi may have a difficult road ahead of him. Atem's powers had altered his being.} Mahad stated.
"What do you mean?" asked Duke.
"It means that Yugi has quite literally become half of what Atem used to be. Yugi's light was never meant to travel down that road. All we can hope for is that he is strong enough to survive this change." stated Marik. Not more then a few minutes after Marik said that Yugi opened his eyes which were now blood red with cat-like pupils. Sharp fangs protruded from his mouth, his physical frame grew taller and more muscular, his wings emerged from out of his back, and finally his tri-colored hair became more like Atem's when he was alive.
"Jesus Christ!" Duke stated startled by what just happened. Yugi didn't say any thing as he just look on blankly. Bakura was the first to move as he knelt down by Yugi's side as he used a dagger to slit open his wrist. The smell of blood caused Yugi's eyes to glow.
~Please feed Yugi Moto. Take my blood as I offer it freely. Quench your thirst.~ Bakura stated in Egyptian. Yugi tilted his head to one side in confusion. He timidly reached out for Bakura's arm. Bakura nodded his head as Yugi's fangs reached their full length as he sank his fangs down into Bakura's arm. Bakura let out a low hiss as he knew what had to be done. It was his task to sedate Yugi's newfound cravings and to bring him back around. Everyone watched as the newfound wings closed around Yugi's body giving him what appeared to be a cloak. Atem slowly reached out to his human host feeling the pain that he had put his light through. Sorrow stretched through him as he never meant to hurt his other half.
*Dear Ra, please forgive me... Abiou (partner) I never meant this to happen to you. Please speak to me my Hikari (light) let me know that you are still with us.* Atem stated mentally. Yugi pulled back away from Bakura allowing his tongue to sweep over the wound that Bakura caused.
~Yugi?~ Bakura asked in Egyptian. Yugi looked at Bakura smiling softly.
"Blade... Doctor Strange... Wolverine... Dark Magician... What's going on?" Yugi asked in confusion. The four looked at the teen as it seemed that a part of Atem's own presence had become Yugi's own.
{Dear Ra... Please don't tell me that we are too late to save him.} Mahad stated collapsing to his knees. By now both Clockwork, Jazz, and Shriker had returned into the cabin as Jazz gasped in shock when she saw Yugi's new form. Danny had also begun to regain consciousness as when he sat up he also gasped at Yugi's newfound form.
"Yugi?" both Danny and Jazz asked in pure shock. Yugi looked at the two cocking his head in confusion.
"The lights are on but no one is home. His mind had completely merged with Atem's. I don't know how we are going to get him back." stated Marik. Suddenly a light blue ghostly breath escaped from Danny's lips as even Clockwork shivered as everyone in the room could see an Indian man approached Yugi. Around his neck he wore a millennium item. Mahad gasped in shock when he saw the Indian man.
{Shadi and the millennium key.} Mahad stated in a low whisper. Everyone watched as Shadi went up to Yugi holding the millennium key to his forehead.
~You must remember or he may not be able to help save the people you care for the most. This maybe the last time that I maybe able to help you my pharaoh. You must find the one who owns the millennium key. The owner is known as the man without fear. He is the last midnight son who holds one of your millennium item.~ Shadi stated as he turned the key unlocking Yugi's and Atem's memories. ~Remember what I have told you Lord Atem about your power and how to contain it. The millennium puzzle is part of that key along with all the other millennium items. Gather them and unlock the part of yourself that you have kept hidden all of these years. Then and only then can you and your host be ever truly complete.~ Shadi stated before vanishing into the night. Everyone watched as Yugi was about to drop to the floor when Shriker caught him. Yugi's eyes still retained their cat-like slits for the irises but his pupils had changed becoming a violet red color.
"Yugi?" Danny questioned at first as he could feel the bond between him and his friend had come back.
"What's going on? Why is Bakura and Marik here along with Mahad and Clockwork?" Yugi asked in confusion. The two Fenton teens ran hugging their friend grateful that he was back
%Later that very day%
Clockwork and Mahad thought it would be best if both Marik and Bakura stayed to help out Duke and Shriker rescue the Fenton Family and Mr. Moto. Especially considering what Yugi had just gone through. Shriker whose real name was Tristan Taylor explained how he became who he was and how he was tied into this whole thing.
"I was a part of a group known as the Death Ninja's whose leader is a man known as Deathwatch. I was trained since I was born to become a ninja. But I didn't realize what this group was capable of until I had gained this item." Tristan stated touching the millennium eye. "I can still remember the day it all happened."
=Begin Flashback=
It was just after Tristan got back from training when he was approached by one of the messenger's that Deathwatch had under his command.
"Taylor I have a package for you." he stated as he handed Tristan a small ring box sized item along with a note before leaving. Tristan just watched him go before reading the note.
-Tristan, My name is none of your concern right now but the item within the box is important. It will allow you to see the true intent of those around you. Once you open the box the item will react to you and well... I'll just let you find out what happens next. I'm sure you'll know what to do after you see the truth. Signed, your new Ally-
Besides the note being both informative and vague Tristan didn't think much of what would happen. So he opened the box and found a golden ball with and eye like design in the middle. Then the thing started glowing brightly, Tristan covered his eyes from the light but it got past his hand and embedded itself where his right eye use to be. If you know what its like to lose a limb then you have a vague idea of what its like to have something forcibly shoved into your eye and losing said eye at the same time. Tristan almost lost consciousnesses because of the pain, thankfully his quarters weren't far from where he was at the time so he was able to make it there before he had passed out. Tristan woke up an hour later and found that his eye was banged and that some how he had made it to the infirmary. The nurse on staff at the time told Tristan that one of the other trainees had been sent to find him as he found Tristan in a pool of blood and unconscious in his quarters.
It was a few days later that the millennium eye first activated. Deathwatch was doing a routine check of the ninja's progress when Tristan saw images of what he was planing. It was then that Tristan knew he had to leave the group even knowing that it was next to impossible. But the millennium eye showed him a way. So he left the Death Ninja's taking on the identity of Shriker.
It was then that Tristan first began to work for a man known as Skulker. The work was easy at first as all he was doing was research. That's when the millennium eye activated once again showing Tristan what Skulker was planning when he had brought in an unconscious man. The unconscious man was none other than Duke. Tristan later that night after Duke had been infused with the adamantium had begun to destroy the lab. Tristan under the guise of Shriker also helped Duke escape and made sure that all of Skulker's research went up into flames. He also managed to make sure that Skulker was caught in the inferno. Once he made sure that Duke had made it to safety, Tristan went back to where the lab used to be and made sure that no files and/or its materials could be used again. It seemed that somehow Skulker had lived as now he had to wear a protective body armor because of how bad his wounds were.
=End Flashback=
"There were a few times that Duke's and my path had crossed but he had no idea that I was the mysterious ninja who helped him out time after time." stated Tristan.
"But why did this Deathwatch take my family?" asked Jazz.
"No doubt he is working with Skulker as they both have the same agenda planed. Both want to create the ultimate weapon. Deathwatch wants to create a mutated biotoxin bomb. This will result in a quite deadly combination as half of the population of the tristate area will die immediately. The rest will die a slow and torturous death, driven mad by the toxin that is eating away at their brains and bodies. The toxin will spread through the country like a plague. And for one with Deathwatch's sensitivity to death, it will be like ecstasy. Skulker on thee other hand wants to create the perfect living weapon that can regenerate quickly and with impenetrable adamantium that can cut through anything." replied Tristan.
"Meaning he needs or wants me." stated Duke as Tristan nodded his head.
"My guess is that he isn't finished with you yet."
"In the meantime we have to come up with a plan to get my folks back and Yugi's grandfather. No doubt both men are going to be waiting for us. But what I don't get is how Deathwatch knew about Yugi and I being the Ghost Riders. Only our allies knew of us and who we truly are." stated Danny.
"It seems that perhaps they have someone on their side who is able to see into the past and future like me. As it seems that something has been blocking me from seeing what is going to happen. But I don't know of who has that kind of ability." stated Clockwork.
*No doubt it is a trap. But I think I know of a way that we can slip by it.* Atem stated mentally.
*How?* Yugi asked in question.
*Clockwork, tell me... Can this being you are sensing be able to pick up the presence of the Shadow Realm?* Atem asked. The ghost of time simply shook his head as this brought a smile to Atem's face. *Perfect... here's what we are going to do...* stated Atem. Yugi relayed Atem's plans as it was best if Jazz waited for them here in the cabin as she wouldn't be left alone as one of the creatures from the Shadow Realm would be here to protect her. Once the plan was set the group of heroes set into motion to rescue the Fenton Family and Mr. Moto.
T.V. Announcer: And welcome back to the Riders tribute. And here are you host's Scrletfyre and Drangonstar101. *audience claps*
Scrletfyre: Welcome back everyone.
Dragonstar101: Before we begin with today's guest, Scrlet could you change Atem and Phantom back? I think that they have learned their lesson?
Scrletfyre *huffing as both Danny and Yugi come onto the stage holding the chibi child forms of Atem and Phantom*: Fine. *Both Danny and Yugi put down Atem and Phantom as Scrlet snaps her fingers as they transform back to normal.* Happy?
Dragonstar101 *smiling*: Yes. *The four leave the stage as Atem and Phantom go without uttering a word.* Today on the show we are going to speak with Tristan Taylor who is playing the part of Shriker so please welcome him to the show! *audience claps*
Tristan *walks onto the set*: Thanks for having me although I am a bit surprised to be playing this roll again.
Scrletfyre: I know that you have played this part before in the story "Fight for the Future." So why are you surprised to be reliving your roll?
Tristan: Well quite frankly it is because I know that the character Shriker wasn't an actual Midnight Son.
Scrletfyre: That is true but when Dragonstar101 decided that she wanted to do this story, she asked me to use some of the characters from my two stories in this story.
Dragonstar101: That's correct. Scrletfyre knew more about the Ghost Rider universe that I do as we both know a bit about the Yugioh and Danny Phantom universe to pull this story off.
Scrletfyre: Even though the character Shriker wasn't a Midnight Son, he was still a part of the Ghost Rider universe as Dragonstar101 wanted to use him.
Tristan: Oh that makes sense.
Dragonstar101: So that aside, how does it feel to play this part again even though there has been some changes made to your character from the story "Fight for the Future?"
Tristan: I can't totally say its bad. I mean who else gets to play a bad ass ninja who used to be on the side of evil but now totally fights on the side of good? I think it is awesome the way that you guys changed the character so he would know what both Deathwatch and Skulker are planning to accomplish and giving him the millennium eye to see the truth about everything.
Scrletfyre: Glad that you approve. I didn't want some of the characters that we are using from both "Dark Rider Atem" and "Fight for the Future" to be the same so I made a few tweaks in them to make sure that this story is completely different from them.
Dragonstar101: I am just glad that I have your help with this as I wouldn't have gotten this far without your help. *Scrletfyre smiles*
