Week Twenty – March 20th

"Hey, hun?" Ed asked while reading another pregnancy book. He was seated on the couch in the basement while Winry was cleaning her automail tools.

"Yeah?" Winry asked.

"What's our birth plan?" Winry blinked, turning from her tools to look at her husband.

"Honestly, that hadn't occurred to me," Winry said.

"The books say that we need to tell our doctor the birth plan," Ed said. "Should we talk to granny?"

"Yeah, I think so," Winry said. She finished cleaning her tools, placing them back in their toolbox and walked upstairs. Edward wasn't far behind her. "Hey, granny?" Winry asked her grandmother, who had been reading a medical book in the kitchen.

"Yes?" Pinako asked, barely looking up from her book.

"Ed said we need to talk to you about our birth plan," Winry said.

"Did you want me to do something specific?" Pinako asked.

"Well, how did you do all of our births?" Winry asked.

"Well, when you were born, it was pretty standard. Your father waited outside, as men did back then, and when I cleaned you up and gave you to your mother, he came in," Pinako answered. "When Edward was born, there were some complications, as he was born early. We all thought he was stillborn, but it went about the same as yours did after everything subsided. Alphonse's was just like yours."

"Well…" Winry trailed off. "Did you take us away as soon as we were born?"

"To clean you, yes," Pinako answered.

"Can Ed clean the babies?" Winry asked. "I read in a book that the first bath is the most bonding moment for the fathers, and it's very important that they do it."

"You want me to clean the babies for the first time?" Ed asked, eyes wide.

"Yes," Winry answered.

"Well, that's perfectly fine with me," Pinako said.

"Are you sure I won't hurt them?" Edward asked.

"Granny and I will supervise," Winry said. "Just in case you decide to dunk a baby."

"Don't joke about that," Ed said with a groan. Winry laughed.

"Just kidding."
